No TV show has truly had a series finale as long as the network or streaming service can produce a revival. TV sitcoms like Full House, Saved by the Bell, and Will & Grace returned. Dramas have reunited their casts, or at least passed the torch to the next generation. Here are six of the best TV drama revivals of the last decade.
Raymond Lee and Caitlin Bassett | Ron Batzdorff/NBC ‘Dallas’ revived the TV drama until real-life tragedy occurred
TNT brought back the hit drama Dallas with original cast members Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy, and Linda Gray as the original Ewings. Jesse Metcalfe, Josh Henderson, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, and Emma Bell played the new generation battling over the family oil business.
Unfortunately, Hagman died while filming the second season. The show quickly adjusted existing footage to explain J.R. Ewing’s off screen death, but the show could never recover.

Hollywood comedies are a dime a dozen. Yet, many receive flak for their attempts to tickle our funny bones, while only a select few earn rave reviews or accolades from critics. Honestly, I can only think of a handful of comedic films that made their way to the tops of end-of-year lists, while also recalling hundreds more that drew the ire of bigwigs like Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel for accomplishing what they set out to do.
Don't get me wrong. Bad comedies exist, but everyone's sense of humor is different. Some people get a good chuckle from the physical pratfalls enacted by Chris Farley, while others revel in the low-brow antics of Will Ferrell and Jim Carrey. At any rate, the purpose of a comedy is to supply laughs and entertain its audience. The purpose of this article is to highlight a handful of poorly reviewed comedies that are...

Carly Pope is known as an icon from her time playing Sam McPherson on the WB series Popular.
She’s premiering in Neil Blomkamp's new horror film Demonic on Friday, August 20th. It’s the first film Neil has done in six years, and the two have worked together before.

Hi Carly. Thanks for chatting with me. You’re known as an Icon from the WB series Popular. What was your favorite part of that series?
Wow. That is a very kind, very kind label to receive. Sam hated labels! Truly, though, I’m honored.
That show was groundbreaking in so many ways, and I love that so many people still love and remember it (when it’s not even streaming). I loved the blend of heart and humor in the show.

Kara Danvers and the Super Friends have been through a lot at this point
Originally published March 31; updated to reflect recent plot developments.
The sixth and final season of “Supergirl” just hit the mid-point and, let’s get honest: Kara Danvers and the Super Friends have been through the wringer many times over at this point. The mid-season finale literally saw most of the super friends experience their deepest fears, thanks to a loose Phantom. It was…rough, to say the least.
Can we finally get them into therapy?
They’ve had a therapist within reach for awhile now: Kelly Olsen (James’ sister), the psychologist specializing in trauma who is currently dating Alex Danvers. And, according to series star Azie Tesfai, who has played Kelly since Season 3, the “Supergirl” cast talks fairly often about this, and like to imagine what an actual Super Friends group therapy session would look like.

Exclusive: Azie Tesfai, who stars as Kelly Olsen on the CW’s Supergirl, is doing double duty this season. She co-wrote, with supervising producer J. Holtham, episode 12 for the show’s upcoming sixth and final season.
Many actors have directed episodes on the series before, but this is the first time an actor has penned an episode for one of Greg Berlanti’s shows. David Ramsey (Arrow) is set to direct.
“I am so grateful to write for Supergirl‘s final season. It’s been such an honor to play Kelly Olsen, a Bipoc and queer character in the DC universe,” Tesfai said. “Working in our amazing writers room and co-writing an episode has been an immensely educational and empowering experience. Hallmark’s 2020 “Countdown to Christmas” has already begun, with a total of 40 new holiday movies set to air this season across the Hallmark Channel and sister network Hallmark Movies & Mysteries — some of which started rolling out well before Halloween.
While there are some fan-favorite Hallmark actors and actresses starring in the lineup, like Candace Cameron Bure, Lacey Chabert, Will Kemp, Holly Robinson Peete and Danica McKellar, there are several newcomers leading films, including Aaron Tveit, Krystal Joy Brown, Victoria Clark, Tom McGowan, Alvina August, Janel Parrish, Jeremy Jordan and Marisol Nichols, among many others.
This year’s slate also includes “The Christmas House,” which stars Jonathan Bennett and features a storyline about a gay couple looking to adopt their first child. Yesterday brought some sad news for Arrowverse fans, as it’s been confirmed that Supergirl will wrap up with its sixth season. This makes it the second series of The CW’s DC TV universe to end, following Arrow earlier this year. Social media is full of reactions from those who don’t want to say goodbye to the Girl of Steel, and a few of the cast have also released statements in response to the news.
You may have seen star Melissa Benoist’s post already, which she shared soon after the announcement. It’s known that the decision to call it quits was a mutual one between the network and the actress, who’s currently pregnant with her first child. And below, you can find what she had to say about the news.

All good things must come to an end, and that includes Supergirl. The WB TV show, which began life on CBS before moving to The CW in its second season, will be ending with the upcoming sixth season. The CW and producers Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti Productions made the announcement today ahead of the production start date for Season 6. According to Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva, “between the delays and Supergirl’s downward ratings trajectory, I hear the producers, the studio, the network and Benoist came to a decision that it was better to end the show with a longer final season.”
“To say it has been an honor portraying this iconic character would be a massive understatement,” said series star Melissa Benoist in a statement on Instagram. “Seeing the incredible impact the show has had on young girls around the world has always left me humbled and speechless. She...

It's the end of the line for another superhero drama on The CW!
Supergirl is coming to a conclusion with its upcoming sixth season.
20 episodes have been ordered by the network, and it will conclude Kara's journey.
Melissa Benoist stars as Supergirl on the hit drama series, leading a cast that includes Chyler Leigh, Katie McGrath, Jesse Rath, Nicole Maines, Andrea Brooks, Azie Tesfai, Julie Gonzalo, Staz Nair, and David Harewood.
The end date announcement is somewhat surprising, especially when you consider that Arrow survived until its eighth season, and represented the first conclusion for the network's Arrowverse.
Still, Supergirl Season 5 lost considerable steam in the ratings, dipping around 840,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating in the all-important 18-49 demo.
The series has been steadily declining ever since it left CBS after its first season, which averaged 7.7 million total viewers and a 1.7 rating.

“Supergirl” is officially hanging up her cape.
In a joint decision, the CW and producers Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions have announced that the upcoming sixth season of “Supergirl” will be its last.
Production on the “Supergirl” curtain call is set to begin later this month, and the writers have already started developing storylines for the final 20 episodes, according to sources. The network is aiming to premiere the sixth and final season sometime in 2021.
News of “Supergirl”‘s demise also comes almost exactly four months after the season 5 finale. The series originally debuted on CBS back in Oct. 2015, before moving to CW from season 2 onward.
The most recent season continued to star Melissa Benoist as the titular heroine, who also happens to be Superman’s cousin. She addressed the show’s end via social media.

“Supergirl” will conclude with its upcoming sixth season, The CW announced Tuesday.
The broadcast network says that the creative team behind the Melissa Benoist-led superhero series — which will be the first “Arrowverse” series to come to an end since “Arrow” itself did last spring — “has started developing the storylines for the final 20 episodes” and Season 6 will begin production later this month.
“Supergirl” premiered in October 2015 on CBS before moving over to The CW for its second season the following fall. The CW plans to premiere the sixth and final season, which was pushed from the fall schedule due to Covid-related production delays, sometime in 2021.
Along with Benoist, Season 5 of “Supergirl” starred Chyler Leigh, Katie McGrath, Jesse Rath, Nicole Maines, Azie Tesfai, Andrea Brooks, Julie Gonzalo, Staz Nair and David Harewood, with guest star Jon Cryer.
Here’s the description for that batch of episodes, which ended in May:

Supergirl will be taking her last flight. The CW and producers Warner Bros TV and Berlanti Productions just announced that the drama series starring Melissa Benoist will conclude with the upcoming sixth season, set for premiere on the CW in 2021. It is the second series from the CW’s DC Arrowverse to come to an end following Arrow, which wrapped its eight-year run last season.
Production on all 2020-21 broadcast series was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic. Additionally, Supergirl had been targeting a later start of production to accommodate the pregnancy of star Benoist. I hear the series is slated to begin filming in Vancouver next week, pending a deal with the local unions to comply with SAG’s testing guidelines, which has been a sticking point for a number of Hollywood productions there. The series would initially be filming around Benoist who would join the production later, I have heard.

If you're already adrift without another Hallmark Original Series to watch, you're not alone.
But we have good news today as Crown Media announced new original programming and some renewals we've been waiting for.
Most importantly, there are two renewals to announce that join When Calls the Heart for (fingers crossed) a 2021 release.
Good Witch will return for a seventh season, and Chesapeake Shores will return for a fifth season!
Hurrah!
As you know, Good Witch Season 6 just ended on quite the cliffhanger.
It was the first season in which Bailee Madison didn't appear as Grace, and in Rhys Matthew Bond only made guest appearances as Nick.
Without the younger cast, the adults got a lot more storylines, and love flourished.
Cassie (Catherine Bell) and Sam (James Denton) celebrated their one-year anniversary and began to grow under each other's influence.
The proved that there is always something left to learn about your partner.

And though she can be seen from only the waist up, rest assured that the skirt of old is gone and long pants allowing for actress Melissa Benoist to stay warm during those late night shoots in Vancouver are the new status quo.
If we’re to look closely, Guardian, Dreamer and Brainiac-5 can each be spotted in the photo as well. Furthermore, it can...

We’ve known for a while that Kara is getting a costume change when “Supergirl” returns for its fifth season in October, but until now we’ve only had a single, somewhat obscured photo to see what it looks like. That changed Thursday when The CW released five new images from the upcoming season, including a bright and surprisingly casual look at the new uniform, and it’s pretty cool.
In addition, the CW also released four other images from the upcoming season, so fans of Dreamer, Querl Dox (Aka Braniac 5), Alex and J’onn J’onzz (or maybe Hank Henshaw) are covered, too.
But first up, the new uniform for Kara (Melissa Benoist) ditches her old super skirt and tights for a body suit similar to the one worn by her cousin Clark/Superman (Tyler Hoechlin). It’s a cool take on the classic Kryptonian good-guy outfit and we...

One half of Garfunkel and Oates is making a pit stop at The CW this fall. Kate Micucci, whose recent TV credits include roles on Another Period and The Big Bang Theory, will pop up in Supergirl‘s fifth season premiere (Oct. 6, 9/8c), TVLine has learned exclusively.
“She’s amazing and so sparkly and hysterical,” executive producer Jessica Queller tells TVLine, adding that it was “really exciting” having her on set. As Queller explains, Micucci “has a small cameo as a character working in a museum.”

Thanks to an Instagram post from Melissa Benoist last week, we discovered that the Girl of Steel would be sporting a radical new appearance in Supergirl season 5. Not only has she got a new hairstyle, but Kara Danvers has swapped her classic red skirt for an all over blue outfit. Set photos gave us a further glimpse of the costume and now, The CW has provided us with the best look yet at the new, improved Supergirl in this awesome promo image seen below.
Released today at the show’s Comic-Con panel, it depicts the heroine striding through National City with pandemonium apparently going on around her. The main focus of the image, though, is of course her new togs. Some have complained about the lack of the red skirt outsetting the balance between the two colours, but in this photo the bold blue really works. We’re definitely getting...
