The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is bringing in a new — but familiar — head writer.
A.D. Miles, who previously worked on both The Tonight Show and during Fallon’s stint as host of Late Night, is rejoining Tonight. Miles will take over as head writer from Mason Steinberg, who is departing after a year and change in the role.
Miles was the head writer on Late Night from 2009-14 and moved to The Tonight Show with Fallon when the host took over the franchise from Jay Leno. He remained head writer on Tonight until 2017 before departing to work on other projects, including ABC’s Gong Show and the final season of Arrested Development at Netflix.
Miles has also made a number of on-camera appearances on the show, performing as a member of the Ragtime Gals and playing stepdad Gary in the “Ew!” sketches in the early years of the show.

When summer arrives, many people go on vacation. A chunk of NBC’s venerable “Tonight Show” staff instead went to Game Camp.
Over the course of eight weeks during this year’s hot season, staffers set about creating a bunch of new contests that “Tonight” host Jimmy Fallon can try with guests. One of Fallon’s strengths has been the creation of a “play along” attitude that gets celebrities to do everything from impressions of famous musicians to egg tosses. Thanks to the work this summer, he will soon be able to offer a few new tests of skill.
“We are still tinkering with them,” says Chris Miller, who joined “Tonight” as producer and showrunner in March. “We are building sets, and some of them have electronic devices and meters.”

Chrissy Teigen will be donning her judge’s robes once again for Season 3 of “Chrissy’s Court,” returning exclusively to the Roku Channel this fall.
Roku’s greenlight for a third run of the courtroom series, patterned after daytime TV fare like “Judge Judy” and “The People’s Court,” comes after Season 2 scored as the most-watched unscripted Roku original premiere to date. In each episode, Judge Chrissy adjudicates one small-claims case. The plaintiffs, defendants, and disputes are real, and Teigen’s decisions are final and binding. The show features Teigen’s mom, Pepper Thai, as the “bailiff” who maintains order in the court.
The second season of “Chrissy’s Court” drew more unique views than any prior unscripted Roku original launch during its opening weekend on the Roku Channel in the U.S., from June 17-19, 2022. The series also was the Roku Channel’s No. 1 VOD program in the U.
