Timur Bekmambetov seems to never really have a moment's rest in this industry. He's always producing, writing or directing a random piece of property that tends to turn out great. Bekmambetov is back at it once more, negotiating with the powers at Universal Pictures to do a U.S. remake of "Chernaya Molniya" ("Black Lightning"). Climbing on board this project is "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" director Chris Weitz as producer.The Russian science fiction tale focuses on a student who fixes up an old sedan in all sorts of awesome robotic-like ways and takes on the criminals of his city. Directed by Dmitriy Kiselev and Aleksandr Voytinskiy, the film gained praise and around $20 million in box office revenue.
