"I'm still trying to get the whole 'kid' thing down." Gravitas Ventures has released an official trailer for an indie comedy titled Magic Max, an awkard low-budget indie romantic comedy starring Parker Bates and Ivan Sergei. After he loses both of his parents, 11-year-old Tim Hart is forced to go live with his immensely immature Uncle Max, a second rate magician. As the two learn to cope and start a new family together, they both figure out how they can help each other grow up. This looks like a second-rate film made with a bunch of friends, but it might still be amusing and enjoyable. The cast also includes Jud Tylor, Lotuss Blossom, and Barry Corbin. Sadly this looks like it's worth ignoring, not much to see, just two bland performances. Here's the two official trailers (+ poster) for James D. The past two years has seen two high-profile baseball-themed movies: one good, 2011’s “Moneyball,” and the other less-than-good, last year’s Clint Eastwood-starring “Trouble With The Curve.” While the latter film was a disappointment for the studio, Warner Brothers is hoping they’ll hit a homerun (see what we did there?) with the Jackie Robinson biopic “42.” Scheduled for release next month, the details of the film’s soundtrack album have been released and, as one would expect from a period film, it’s filled with popular tunes from the era. The biopic stars newcomer Chadwick Boseman with Harrison Ford, Christopher Meloni, Ryan Merriman, Brad Beyer, Judy Tylor, Jon Bernthal, Nicole Beharie and T.R. Knight rounding out the rest of the cast. The film focuses on the Robinson’s time with the Brooklyn Dodgers when he became the first baseball player to break the color barrier. We were pretty impressed by.

I might not be the biggest baseball fan, but I love the history of the sport, and I'm looking forward to seeing the movie. Here's the synopsis:
Hero is a word we hear often in sports, but heroism is not always about achievements on the field of play. Baseball films have always been dominant among sports flicks, and in 2011 we got to see one of the best ever in Moneyball. Hoping to follow the success of that great film is 42, which deals with possibly the greatest story in the history of sports, the story of the man who broke the color barrier, Jackie Robinson. Today, the first full-length trailer for the film hit the internet.
Chadwick Boseman is still a relative newcomer, but if this trailer is any indication, he’ll be remembered as Robinson for a long time to come. We get to see a wide range of emotions from Boseman as Robinson attempts to deal with the majority of fans and other players who don’t want him on the field. Harrison Ford looks excellent as general manager Branch Rickey, and the trailer includes Rickey’s iconic quote, “I want a player who’s got the guts not to fight back.

Ever see a little anthology film called Nite Tales? It was the one that starred Flava Flav introducing tales of carnage Crypt Keeper style. Though Flav nearly crippled the movie (boy did he come close), what made it work was the passion of director Deon Taylor. We've got the skinny on another project from Taylor that's been kicking around for a while now.
According to Screen Daily Screen Media Films has struck a distribution partnership with Deon Taylor Enterprises/Vista Taylor for the thriller Dead Tone, which stars Rutger Hauer, Jud Tylor, Antwon Tanner, and Brian Hooks (who co-directed) and was formerly known as 7eventy 5ive.
