"Everybody she 'plays' with dies." Flesh seduces. Passion kills. Studiocanal UK has dropped in a brand new trailer for the 4K restoration plus re-release of the infamous erotic investigative drama Basic Instinct, from filmmaker Paul Verhoeven. This originally opened in 1992, and earned the attention of adult audiences for being hyper-sexual, including the well-known scene involving Sharon Stone. It also co-stars Michael Douglas as a violent police detective who investigates a brutal murder that might involve a manipulative and seductive novelist. Commissioned by Studiocanal, it was restored from the original 35mm negative and supervised specifically by the director himself, "with invaluable input to the bonus material from Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas. As boundary-pushing today as it was in 1992, Basic Instinct redefined the erotic thriller subgenre and remains a must-see for audiences globally." The cast also includes George Dzundza, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Denis Arndt, Leilani Sarelle, Bruce A. Young, and Chelcie Ross.

Neon Maniacs is by far one of the most obvious 1980s B horror films I have seen in quite some time. It doesn’t try to disguise the era at all with the blaring 80s songs, the teen sex, right down to the slightly cheesy monsters attacking people. I honestly don’t see how this movie has fallen by the wayside as I rarely hear any horror fan talk about it in the least in B movie circles. It is far from perfect but it is at least a fun movie.

Code Red has been going “code blue” of late, releasing the likes of Nail Gun Massacre and Just Before Dawn on Blu-ray. We now know of seven more forthcoming Blu horror titles from the 70s, 80s, and 90s they have in the works to further empty your wallets in the coming year.
We haven’t come across any official word from Code Red regarding these newest offerings so it may be that Blu-ray.com let the proverbial cat out of the bag by listing these titles for future release the other day. In any event, here are the details:
First up, for the first time ever, a director’s cut of Jim “Forced Entry” Sotos’ 1983 chiller Sweet Sixteen, starring the all-star cast of Aleisha Shirley, Don Stroud, Bo Hopkins, Dana Kimmell, Patrick Macnee, Susan Strasberg, Larry Storch, Henry Wilcoxon, and Michael Pataki.

Survival is not an option. Living is not an option. Well, we finally have an exclusive clip from David A. Prior‘s horror movie Night Claws (aka Apex Predator), and I definitely recommend you to check it out. You already had a chance to watch the first trailer & poster for the whole thing, and today it’s time for us to see Bigfoot in some action! As you’re going to see this creature is definitely blood thirsty, vicious and kills without warning and without discrimination…
David A. Prior directed the movie from a script he co-wrote with Fabio Soldani which is set in a small town terrorized by a killer Bigfoot. This creepy creature kills without warning, and is on a rampage near that small town.
This is not your ordinary Bigfoot. This creature is lightning fast, is incredibly strong, and seems to thrive on not just killing but tearing people apart as well.

Mankind is on the menu… Well, the last time I heard something about this movie, the title was Night Claws, and I think that tagline was something like – living is not an option, or whatever. The most important thing for you to know is that this is actually the same movie which comes from director David A. Prior but now has a completely new title – Apex Predator! Today we have a pretty cool trailer and poster for the whole thing, so make sure you check it out!
So, in case you’re not so familiar with this horror movie, I will first inform you that David A. Prior is also responsible for the script, which he co-wrote with Fabio Soldani. The movie has some interesting cast on board which includes Frank Stallone, Leilani Sarelle, Sherrie Rose, David Campbell, Ted Prior, Tara Sanford Kleinpeter and Alissa Koenig.

It would be easy to dismiss Night Claws as just another low budget Bigfoot movie, but if you’re a lover of b-movies then the pedigree behind this latest piece of Sasquatchploitation makes it a must-see.
I first reported on this movie back in April of 2011 and I feel compelled to repeat a paragraph I wrote back then explaining why the film is a b-movie lover’s wet dream:

Yep, that old silly Sasquatchploitation genre is still alive and kickin’ (hopefully like real life Bigfoots…why can’t we find them?) with Night Claws. The official website has a new poster and trailer for you all to enjoy.
Bigfoot is on the loose, and he’s pissed! A plus? Old school FX – no CGI.
Here’s the synopsis: “A small town is being terrorized by a killer Bigfoot. One that is bloodthirsty, vicious and kills without warning and without discrimination. A scientist by the name of Sarah Evans (Leilani Sarelle; Basic Instinct and Barbarians at the Gate) shows up to help the town’s sheriff (Reb Brown; Yor, the Hunter from the Future and Space Mutiny) and his deputy girlfriend Roberta (Sherrie Rose; King of the Kickboxers and Black Scorpion II: Aftershock) hunt this thing down and put an end to the killings. God willing the wait to answer that question won't be too long. Basic Instinct is a movie that even its director Paul Verhoeven has described as “nonsense”, yet one cannot argue with the impact of the white dress Sharon Stone wears for the interrogation scene. Plus there is far more going on here than an absence of underwear.
When this erotic thriller was released in 1992 it was notorious long before projectors whirred to life. Picketed on set by gay and lesbian groups in San Francisco for what they considered to be a stereotypical and offensive view of homosexuality, the film was lucky to have gotten made at all. Of course this was before the furore over that close up, not to mention the ‘Did they? Didn’t they?’ sex scene hysteria. Even Michael Douglas’ v-neck nightclub attire came under scrutiny. Watch the movie now and you will wonder what all the fuss was about.

When last we left Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) and the team, Jane was still reeling from his face-to-face (so to speak) encounter with the all-knowing Red John. The serial killer had saved Jane's life, recited poetry to him, and given him a message from his missing friend and psychic Kristina Frye (Leslie Hope). Thankfully, The Mentalist (TV) writers don't hit the "reset" button with this premier and the Red John experience is still as fresh as ever with our Jane. Frye is still missing, and Jane still blames himself. I had thought last season that maybe Frye was in league with Red John, but I guess I was wrong. She could be wrapped in plastic and hanging in a freezer somewhere. Anyway, Lisbon (Robin Tunney) and her team have a new case: the kidnapping of a high profile lawyer, Dublin, and the murder of his chauffeur, Russo. Of course, this means high media attention,...

The nice thing about Twitter-stalking celebrities is that under most circumstances there is no danger of injury or harm to personal property, which is more than can be said of Christian Serratos' mother's car today, according the "Twilight" star's tweets.
And while danger may not have been a factor, Miley Cyrus seems to have decided that Twitter is no longer the place for her, according to her final tweet before closing her account. I will personally miss the pictures or her mullet-wigged, surgical masked father, in addition to all of her meditative wisdom, and wish her well offline. Sarah Silverman, Ice-t and Jessica Simpson are all still online though. Believe or not, they all posted pics over the last 24 hours, and Silverman's is easily the least bizarre. I bet you never thought in a million years that you would see the words Scenes We Love and Basic Instinct in the same headline, did you? But here we are, so before you swear off this feature for ever more, keep in mind that this particular edition of Scenes We Love is going to be for the music (because, frankly, if we're talking about quality filmmaking we need to look elsewhere). Basic Instinct is a guilty pleasure of mine and there is plenty of cheese to choose from. You've got the laughable sex, ridiculous plot and dialog, and really, when did you ever think you would see Michael Douglas try and get down ... in a V-neck no less?

Romance isn't in the air in Hollywood this week thanks to a trio of high profile splits. Oscar winner Mira Sorvino has confirmed she and Olivier Martinez are no longer an item, Sex & The City star Kim Cattrall's on-again-off-again marriage to writer Mark Levinson is over and Rosemary Clooney's son Miguel Ferrer is also heading for splitsville. Sorvino had been dating French hunk Martinez for three years and confessed just three months ago that she was thinking about quitting Hollywood to live in Paris with her man. But, when Martinez was spotted courting Kylie Minogue in Los Angeles' swanky Chateau Marmont hotel last month, gossips suggested his romance with Mira was over. And now it is. Cattrall laughed off reports that she and Levinson, who co-wrote sex book Satisfaction: The Art Of The Female Orgasm with the actress, were heading for a split last year, but the couple are living apart, according to the latest reports. And Ferrer's 11-year marriage to Leilani Sarelle, who played Sharon Stone's lesbian love interest in Basic Instinct, is over. The couple have two children, Lucas, nine, and Rafael, six. A family friend tells American tabloid Globe, "It's very sad. Leilani moved out of the house a few weeks ago. Everyone was in tears."...
