Michelle Trachtenberg is in final negotiations to star opposite Bijou Phillips in the indie Odd Girl Out. Shooting is scheduled to start Jan. 12 in Los Angeles with Deepika Daggubati at the helm. Trachtenberg will play a 17-year-old boarding school student who is considered the golden girl of her high school. She quickly becomes archenemies with a new student (Phillips), who has been sent reluctantly to the school by her troubled mother. More problems arise when Phillips' character falls in love with the cousin of Trachtenberg's character. Frank Sacco is producing through his Frank Sacco Pictures along with Tom Joyner and Brian Barach from a script by first-time feature director Daggubati. The director of photography will be Matt Uhry. Trachtenberg is repped by ICM, Peg Donegan at Framework Entertainment and attorney Ira Schreck at Schreck, Rose and Dapello. The actress next stars in the Montecito Picture Co./DreamWorks comedy Eurotrip, followed by the indie drama Mysterious Skin for helmer Gregg Araki. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star also has appeared in other films, including Harriet the Spy and Inspector Gadget.
