We're here to give you a spoiler-free answer to that question, as well as some context to help...

This one delivers the 4K ‘experience’ — and David Lynch’s mesmerizing visuals and Angelo Badalamenti’s seductive music once again pull us into a different dimension. Four or five viewings down the line, the ‘storyline’ of this TV show-become-feature film is if anything less understandable. But it’s no less pleasantly weird — we can’t keep our eyes off of Naomi Watts and Laura Harring. My ‘quality’ section debates a question I’m getting more often: are 4K discs worth the upgrade?

Steven Soderbergh has taken up the mantel to direct New Line and HBO Max feature ‘Kimi’ which stars Zoe Kravitz in the lead.
The project is Soderbergh’s first after signing a three year overall deal with the streamer earlier this year.
Kravitz will play an agoraphobic tech worker who discovers recorded evidence of a violent crime during an ordinary data stream review and tries reporting it up the chain of command at her company. Met with resistance and bureaucracy, she realizes that in order to get involved, she will have to do the thing she fears the most — leave her apartment.
David Koepp has penned the script, Koepp will also produce alongside Michael Polaire.

I’m really excited for The Knick, a historical medical drama starring Clive Owen and directed by Steven Soderbergh, which Cinemax will be unveiling in August. This is the same network we jokingly call Skinemax, and which features action-packed, nudity-heavy series like Strike Back, Hunted and Banshee. However, The Knick definitely looks like a promising new start for the network in a new trailer for the series.
In the trailer, we’re introduced to the high-pressure, high-stakes existence of Dr. John W. Thackery (Owen), a doctor at New York’s Knickerbocker Hospital in the early twentieth century. As he pushes to expand the known boundaries of modern medicine, he encounters a myriad of personal and professional dilemmas.
The main draw for a lot of viewers will probably be Owen, who looks like he’s perfectly suited for this gritty role, but I’m most excited to see Soderbergh’s direction on the series.

Cinemax has revealed the first teaser for Steven Soderbergh's original series "The Knick", starring Clive Owen and premiering this summer. Set in downtown New York in 1900, the ten-episode season centers on Knickerbocker Hospital and the groundbreaking surgeons, nurses and staff, who push the bounds of medicine in a time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics. The writing team of Jack Amiel and Michael Begler, who wrote the pilot for the series, serve as executive producers, along with Soderbergh, Owen, Michael Sugar and Gregory Jacobs. Oscar Race Up in the Air? Space Thriller and Slave Drama in First-Ever Tie at Producers Guild Awards
Producers Guild of America Awards 2014: ‘Gravity’ and ’12 Years a Slave’ tie for Best Picture (photo: ‘Gravity’) Earlier this evening, January 19, 2014, the Alfonso Cuarón-directed Gravity and the Steve McQueen-directed 12 Years a Slave shared the Producers Guild of America’s Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures — in other words, the PGA’s Best Picture Award. That’s the first such tie in the PGA Awards’ 24-year history. A mix of adventure thriller and mother-love soap opera, Gravity was written by Alfonso Cuarón and his son, Jonás Cuarón. The Cuaróns’ film received ten Academy Award nominations, but failed to be shortlisted for its screenplay. Sandra Bullock and George Clooney star. Based on the story of a free black man forced into slavery in the mid-19th century United States, 12 Years a Slave stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt (who also co-produced the film), and...

The PGA split keeps the Oscar race wide open in one of the tightest three-way battles in years, with “American Hustle” still in the game following a week of big showings at the Golden Globes, Oscar nominations and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Tonight the Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced this year’s winning motion picture and television productions at the 25th Annual Producers Guild Awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

One of the most up-in-the-air Academy Award races in memory just got even more unpredictable. For the first time in its 25-year history, the Producers Guild Awards—generally considered the most reliable predictor of which film will take home the Best Picture Oscar—ended in a tie. Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity and Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave shared the group’s prize for Best Picture.
The other Best Picture nominees were American Hustle, Her, Blue Jasmine, Captain Phillips, Dallas Buyers Club, Her, Nebraska, Saving Mr. Banks, and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Plenty of groups give out awards for excellence in film and television at the end of every year, but no set of nominations is watched more carefully by Oscar predictors than the picks from the Producers Guild. That’s because year after year their choices end up being a fairly good indicator of which films will also be granted Best Picture nominations when the Academy makes their selections.
The Guild has announced their 2014 nominations today and there aren’t really any major surprises here. All the expected films are present, including 12 Years A Slave, American Hustle, Captain Phillips, Gravity, Her and The Wolf Of Wall Street. Animated films that nabbed nominations are The Croods, Despicable Me 2, Epic, Frozen and Monsters University. Included in the documentary nominations are A Place at the Table, Far Out Isn’t Far Enough: The Tomi Ungerer Story, Life According to Sam, We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks...

The Producers Guild of America has accurately forecast the last six Best Picture Oscar winners, so it was good news for 10 films that were nominated today for the PGA’s Darryl F. Zanuck Award. While Gravity, 12 Years a Slave, and American Hustle were among the films that made the cut, Inside Llewyn Davis, The Butler, and Fruitvale Station did not. Warner Bros. Pictures has released a slew of new images from the upcoming thriller Contagion. The photo gallery includes a few behind-the-scenes stills as well as a look at Steven Soderbergh’s film.
An international traveler reaches into the snack bowl at an airport bar before passing her credit card to a waiter. A business meeting begins with a round of handshakes. A man coughs on a crowded bus…
One contact. One instant. And a lethal virus is transmitted.
When Beth Emhoff (Gwyneth Paltrow) returns to Minneapolis from business in Hong Kong, what she thought was jet lag takes a virulent turn. Two days later, she’s dead in the ER and the doctors tell her shocked and grieving husband (Matt Damon) they have no idea why.
Soon, others exhibit the same mysterious symptoms: hacking coughs and fever, followed by seizure, brain hemorrhage…and ultimately, death. In Minneapolis, Chicago, London,...

Steven Soderbergh is about to unleash his virus thriller Contagion in just a few weeks and Warner Bros. have released 70 high-resolution images from the film. If you looked close enough at each one, I’m confident you could tell who lives and who dies. Spoiler warning: the prospects aren’t looking too good. Screenings kicked off last night in Los Angeles and I’ve heard strong things (with a tweet or two that skirt the embargo), but for now we have these photos, which can be seen below.
Contagion stars Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow Kate Winslet, Laurence Fishburne, Elliott Gould, Jude Law, Marion Cotillard, John Hawkes and Jennifer Ehle. See the trailer here and click the images below for high-resolution.

Warner Bros. Pictures is really trying to drum up attention for its upcoming release Contagion. This is a virus thriller, which involves a spreading disease and several researchers trying to eradicate it. The latest poster for the film displays actors Laurence Fishburne, Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Jude Law, Kate Winslet and Gwyneth Paltrow from top left to bottom right. This is the eight poster for this feature, which is also shown in scratched and faded yellows, reminiscent of police tape. Contagion releases September 9th in theatres including the IMAX.
The Center for Disease control figures prominently in this feature. One of the locations for this government agency is located in Atlanta, Georgia. The film is correct in using this location as part of their premise, especially since the Cdc has a campus in Atlanta devoted to researching diseases. However, much of the Cdc's responsibility at the main site involves informing...

Feels like its going down The Andromeda Strain path of least resistance. Do you feel like the trailer gives away too much or do you want to see more?
Starring Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Bryan Cranston, Sanaa Lathan, Jennifer Ehle, Contagion follows the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days. As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. At the same time, ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart.
On that happy note, Contagion will be in theaters and IMAX on September 9, 2011.
