Now everyone knows that Tony Soprano was last seen in a booth at Holsten’s ice cream parlor on June 10, 2007. But what a 14-year-old video that just got released to the public this morning presupposes is… maybe he wasn’t?
In 2010, NBA superstar LeBron James was entering free agency for the first time in his legendary career, and the New York Knicks were one of several teams with dreams of signing him. Knicks executives put together what they thought would be a surefire recruitment plan, centered on a video where...

As you’re likely well aware by now, the first trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX – or as it’s now officially known, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – is finally with us. And while the new footage is predictably short on plot details, the teaser did come packed with at least one bombshell.
We are, of course, referring to the return of Emperor Palpatine, whose distinctive laugh is heard in the final seconds of the preview. While we have virtually no idea how the biggest villain of the franchise is back in the fold, the fans are pretty ecstatic to have Ian McDiarmid reprise his role, and many have taken to Twitter to share their excitement:

In case there’s any lingering ambiguity from the trailer (and McDiarmid’s appearance at the panel!

Sitting courtside at an NBA game is freakin' awesome, right? You're so close to the action, there's a strong possibility you'll see a celebrity, and you don't even have to get up for drinks and snacks! The only downside? Well, you might be stomped on by a player, and that's what almost happened to Regina King during Wednesday night's Knicks game at Madison Square Garden. The 2019 Oscar nominee attended the game against the Philadelphia 76ers with Tracy Morgan, and she was nearly beheaded by the Sixers' 7'0" center Joel Embiid. Seriously!
Joel jumped over Regina to prevent the ball from going out of bounds, but his priorities were clear: Must. Protect. Regina. He sailed right over her head and landed in the row behind her, as every single person's jaw dropped to the floor. The video was captured by Twitter user Rob Perez, and even Regina was grateful for his skills.

Regina King was about six inches away from having to take a rain check on this year’s Academy Awards, after Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid nearly landed on her during a game at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.
Here’s what happened: Embiid, while playing against the listless Knicks, ran and leapt after a loose ball headed into the stands. The seven-footer saved the ball but had to immediately jump over King, sitting courtside, and land in the second row — taking out a Msg statistician in the process.
Here’s a slow motion clip, where you can see how close King came to ending up on the injured list:

Seems Carmelo Anthony is familiar with the conspiracy theory that the spit that kicked off the Chris Paul vs. Rajon Rondo fight came from his mouth ... and he's calling B.S. Melo was standing right next to Paul when CP3 got hit in the face with mouth moisture -- and while most people believe it came from Rondo, there are some who believe it was a case of accidental friendly fire. #SpitGate Breakdown...

Image Source: Getty / Thearon W. Henderson Are Rihanna and Kevin Durant currently engaged in a bitter feud? Probably not, honestly, but whatever was going down between them at the NBA Finals game on Thursday night was extremely entertaining. The singer and Bates Motel actress attended Game 1 in the finals series at Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA, where the LeBron James superfan cheered on the Cleveland Cavaliers against the Golden State Warriors. She supported #23 at the start of the game by dabbing courtside and even told off a Warriors fan complaining about her blocking their view. It was great: Amazing. Rihanna bows to LeBron then hits a dab and small waves a Warriors fan telling her to sit down.

Rihanna was On Fire during Game 1 of the NBA Finals -- allegedly heckling Kevin Durant, bowing to LeBron James ... and talking trash to haters on the way out of the arena. Fyi, RiRi is a Huuuuge Bron fan -- and can be seen bowing to #23 while sitting in her courtside seats at Game 1 on Thursday night. She later dabbed at someone who reportedly told her to sit down. Lax police chief Patrick Gannon said that at 9:20 a.m "an individual came into terminal 3, pulled an assault rifle out of a bag" and began shooting. He added that officers "didn't hesitate" to go in after the gunman (whom the FBI identified as L.A. resident Paul Anthony Ciancia, 23), and one of the officers was injured before the shooter was taken into custody. In A Better World (Sony) Winner of last year’s Best Foreign Film Oscar, this Danish export looks at two fractured families and the effect that the adult world dysfunction has on their two sons, who form an immediate and potentially deadly bond. Director Susanne Bier delivers another powerful work that maintains its drive during the films’ first 2/3, then falters somewhat during the last act. Still, well-worth seeing, and beautifully made. Also available on Blu-ray disc. Bonuses: Deleted scenes; Commentary by Bier and editor Pernille Bech Christensen; Interview with Bier. Widescreen. Dolby and DTS-hd 5.1 surround.
X-men First Class (20th Century Fox) “Origins” film set in the early 1960s, traces the beginnings of Magento and Professor X (played ably here by Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy), and how the once-close friends and colleagues became bitter enemies. First half is slam-bang entertainment at its stylish best,...

You may have noticed that I've been posting in our Web Exclusives a number of first-person pieces by filmmakers discussing their distribution saga. We have already had producer Jake Abraham on distributing his film, Lovely by Surprise, and then writer/director Rob Perez on making the transition from studio distribution to Diy distribution with his nobody. The latest in our informal series is from Zachary Levy, director of the documentary Strongman. His piece, "Making our Diy Moment Matter," is a refreshingly thoughtful take on what the trend towards alternative distribution should mean for our filmmaking. Check it out, and look for more of these first-person pieces in the coming weeks.

Where does one truly find inspiration? The directorial debut of Rob Perez, writer of 40 Days and 40 Nights, presses to answer that exact question. Lindeman (played by Sam Rosen), a sculptor with his art school final project in front of him, finds himself simply stumped. He looks for inspiration around every corner, in every scene. This includes the goth scene, the gay scene, becoming an intellect, a lover and a vegan, but nothing seems to be the answer to his artistic existential crisis. He realizes that being a nobody defines somebody. The movie is also accompanied by a musical…...
