Cillian Murphy recently had some choice words for his film Red Eye (watch it Here), a Wes Craven-directed thriller that was released back in 2005. But he wasn’t entirely negative. So that got me thinking: Is Red Eye a good film? Or is it more in the so bad it’s good category? I personally saw Red Eye in theaters and have always had a soft spot for it. But if Oppenheimer‘s own Cillian Murphy has an issue with it, maybe it’s worth a second gander. So let’s see whether it’s good, bad, or somewhere in between as we revisit Red Eye in the video embedded above!
Scripted by Carl Ellsworth, who crafted the story with Dan Foos, Red Eye has the following synopsis: In the wake of her grandmother’s funeral, hotel manager Lisa Reisert is waiting to fly back home when she meets charming Jackson Rippner at check-in.

Finally we get a decent episode, one with a genuinely compelling and original storyline. The FBI is tracking a serial killer and Doggett and Reyes are involved in the sting operation to catch him. Unfortunately it all goes horribly wrong as Reyes gets her throat slit and bleeds out in a stairwell and Doggett gets shot. Wait, what? Well it turns out that this particular serial killer can cross dimensions. In one, ours, he’s a regular guy, and in another he’s a feared serial killer who keeps escaping the law.
After that teaser we move to our universe where Doggett presents Reyes with a house warming gift of polish sausage. As Reyes goes into the kitchen Doggett disappears and she receives a call that Doggett has been found shot in an alley. Confused, she goes to check it out and finds him paralyzed in the hospital.

Peter Travers finds himself in a peculiar position on At the Movies this week as he highlights Ride Along, a predictable, one-star cop comedy that would otherwise be headed straight for the scum bucket if it weren't for a stellar performance from Kevin Hart.
Kevin Hart and More of the 50 Funniest People Right Now
Ride Along has been burning up the typically frigid January box office, raking in a record-breaking $50 million during its opening weekend. Set in Atlanta, the film stars Hart as Ben Barber, a rent-a-cop in love with...

New 'Ride Along' movie delivered great comedy, action & more. Universal Pictures released their new comedy flick, "Ride Along" into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out, and thought it was freaking hilarious, featuring extreme funny man, Kevin Hart, along with rapping badass turned actor, Ice Cube. It also delivered big on the action as well. It stars: Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, John Leguizamo, Bruce McGill, Tika Sumpter, Bryan Callen, and Laurence Fishburne. In the new flick, character Ben Barber (Kevin Hart) wants to prove to cop, James Payton (Ice Cube), that he can take care of his sister Angela Payton (Tika Sumpter) . Ben has enrolled in the police Academy and believes he has what it takes to be a cop as well, so James decides to put him to the test by giving him a "ride along" for a day in the field. James secretly sets up some fake scenarios,...

Thursday night, The Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of playwright Mary Chase’s 1944 Pulitzer prize winning play "Harvey" opened to an array of reviews, most of them less than flattering. As some may remember, "Harvey" beat Tennessee Williams’ "The Glass Menagerie" to a Pulitzer prize in 1945, a fact that still baffles today, and which the revival doesn't make up for. Roundabout’s "Harvey" stars “The Big Bang Theory” nerd Jim Parsons, who follows in the footsteps of the ineffable Jimmy Stewart, quite large shoes to fill might I add. Parsons stars as Elwood P. Dowd, an amicable alcoholic who claims to be friends with a "pooka," taking the form of a tall, imaginary rabbit whom Elwood calls Harvey. Elwood’s sister, Veta Louise (played by the oddly cast Jessica Hecht), tries to commit Elwood to a sanitarium, but a comedy of errors ensues, changing the family for the better.

Starring in a Broadway play is already daunting — so headlining said play in a role made famous by Jimmy Stewart must be absolutely terrifying. But The Big Bang Theory’s two-time Emmy winner Jim Parsons appears calm, cool, and collected as Elwood P. Dowd in the ad campaign for Roundabout Theatre Company’s upcoming Harvey (one of EW’s most anticipated shows of the year). Check out EW’s exclusive first look at the poster for the production below.
