There are many great shows in this world and many of them get canceled unjustly, and they don’t get to finish the story they were trying to tell what’s even sadder is that sometimes they end on a note that needs some type of resolution and if it’s a Netflix original series there is even a higher chance of that. So, today we are making a list of every Netflix original series that was canceled in 2024.
Obliterated (2023)
Obliterated is a carefree action comedy-drama series created by Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald. The Netflix series released its first and only season in November 2023 and it followed the story of an elite joint special-operations team trying to stop a deadly terrorist network from blowing up Las Vegas. The 10 Things I Hate About You cast probably didn’t know it then, but the actors in the 1999 teen rom-com would get their breakout role. In the 25 years since its release, 10 Things I Hate About You has become a cult classic and a career highlight for its actors.
On the surface, 10 Things I Hate About You doesn’t sound like a recipe for success. A William Shakespeare play reworked into a teen comedy featuring a cast of mostly unknown actors? Critics didn’t fall head over heels for it in 1999, but the movie’s appeal has grown over time and attracted new generations of fans (even if sequel plans failed). And if the 10 Things I Hate About You cast was unknown then, now there is no mistaking the talent of stars like Julia Stiles, Heath Ledger, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Julia Stiles channeled a popular character from her past recently and looked quite shocked by the script all these years later.
Earlier this week, the Mash-Up Americans Book Festival in New York City set up Stiles to revive Katarina “Kat” Stratford from the hit 1999 film 10 Things I Hate About You. In the big-screen teen rom-com, Kat reads a “hateful” poem to Patrick Verona, a bad boy portrayed by Heath Ledger.
“I hate the way you’re always right. I hate it when you lie. I hate it when you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry,” the poem reads in part.
Toward the end of the reading, Stiles appears to get emotional recalling the scene. Her co-star Ledger died in 2008 at the age of 28. 10 Things I Hate About You is one of Ledger’s most popular films alongside A Knight’s Tale, Casanova, The Dark Knight and Brokeback Mountain,...

Integral Artists, the firm headed by longtime talent manager Nils Larsen, is expanding its team, adding Matt Gogal to its ranks.
Gogal, formerly of A3 Artists Agency and who is making his transition into management, is known for his work with up-and-coming talent. Gogal has cultivated the careers of such actors as Angus Cloud, the Euphoria actor who recently died, Star Wars: The Last Jedi breakout Kelly Marie Tran, Shakira Barrera (Glow), Griffin Matthews (The Flight Attendant) and Grace Dove (Alaska Daily), among others.
“When I started Integral Artists over three years ago, my mission was to return to my roots and establish an exclusive management company that was unstoppable in creating extraordinary opportunities for artists,” said Larsen in a statement. “Fueled by excellence, passion, creativity, and determination, my goal was to continue to work with remarkable talent to unlock their full global potential in all the different sectors of...

Science fiction TV shows have a shorter shelf life than cryptocurrencies and social media influencers. What gives? It's not that complicated: big budgets + low ratings = cancellation. Hey, those space-age sets and costumes, alien makeup, and CGI aren't cheap. Meanwhile, passionate fans may sign petitions by the thousands, but ratings are what matters, and those fanbases are too small to impress execs trying to court advertisers.
Given the economics of television, it's not shocking TV studios routinely dump pricey sci-fi shows in favor of the newest "Big City Cop Show" procedural. To be honest, it's surprising sci-fi shows get made at all. Yep, it sucks, but that's show business. While it's easy to explain why most sci-fi TV shows get canceled, the reasons for some cancellations are downright baffling. These include sci-fi shows that were dropped despite decent ratings, canned with fully completed seasons, or even dumped after inspiring hunger strikes!

Despite the many late-90s romantic comedies inspired by classic literature, "10 Things I Hate About You" has stood the test of time unlike any other. Based on "The Taming of the Shrew," the film remained faithful to its Shakespearean roots and was an endearing romantic comedy for the ages. "10 Things I Hate About You" followed the Stratford sisters, whose strict father won't allow his high schooler daughter Bianca (Larisa Oleynik) to date unless her older sister Kat (Julia Stiles) does. Kat is witty, snarky, and rebellious; she has her eyes set on college and doesn't want to waste time with boys. When new student Cameron (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) falls for Bianca, he hatches a plan to get Kat to date Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger), a rough-edged outsider with a glorious head of hair and devastatingly deep voice. Kind of a package deal, but Kat doesn't care.

It's out with the old and in with the new — another month is coming to a close, so it's time for each of our many different streaming services to refresh their libraries by adding new titles and getting rid of others. So far, no one is doing this quite as dramatically as HBO Max, but alas, no one is completely safe from the possibility of removal. Bet let's instead focus on the upside: More titles will be available to stream this month! Meaning lots more TV series and movies to add to your watchlist and hopefully cross off before they inexplicably disappear from the service.
This month, Hulu is whipping out a selection that really runs the gamut. Looking to linger in the comforting space of reality TV? The streamer has everything from Kardashian family drama to foodie-leaning titles like "Best in Dough" and the season premiere of "Hell's Kitchen.

What makes a story a “classic?” It’s a vague yet glorious distinction applied to books, films, art, and even models of vintage cars whose value is passed down from one generation to the next. But is it just the length of time a text or work survives that qualifies it as a “classic” or is there something more?
Generally speaking, the classics that tend to be celebrated one generation after another, and especially those that are passed down from one century to another, are works that speak of something timeless. The times we live in will change, culture will change, and even our values change. But the experience of living, of loving, of losing (to name just a few such topics)? Those will remain as universal as the human experience is long.
Hence adapting a classic work for a modern audience, whether on film, television, or TikTok, is admirable.

There’s no denying that William Shakespeare is one of the most well-known and widely respected literary figures in history: a fountainhead for so much of storytelling to follow. His works from the late 1500s are still relevant today, and several of his plays have been adapted into films. The latest of which, “The Tragedy of Macbeth,” will arrive in theaters on Christmas Day, and on Apple TV+ on January 14, 2022.
Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand star in the spare, Dreyer-esque black-and-white film directed by Joel Coen. If you’re not familiar with the story, Macbeth is met by three witches who reveal great fortunes for his future. Once these fortunes begin to come true,...

"Good afternoon, Baby-Sitters Club." Well before Netflix's current release and even the 1995 flick staring the decade's most ubiquitous young actresses, Rachael Leigh Cook and Larisa Oleynik, there was Ann M. Martin's anthology. A key part of most '80s and '90s kids' adolescences, the 131-book collection, debuting in 1986, told the tales of a group of resourceful middle school-aged entrepreneurs from the fictional town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut and invokes such nostalgia that even the sight of those instantly recognizable block letters can leave us feeling some type of way. That's because long before we were adults proclaiming ourselves to be Carries and Charlottes or...

Flix FlashbackIn #WatchWithTNM, we write about the '90s romcom and why it's still charming despite being problematic as hell.Ragamalika KarthikeyanGrowing up, I’ve watched 10 things I hate about you perhaps one time too many. I loved the film – it has some easy pop-feminism, some great characters, and some brilliant actors, so what’s not to like, right? But does the film age well? Would I like it if I watched it again now? The film is a high school romcom from 1999, directed by Gil Jugner. The premise is weird: a new kid in school (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is smitten by a pretty girl, but the girl is only allowed to date if/when her older sister does. And so, the boy and his friend devise an elaborate plan to get the older sister to go out with a guy. We have to remember that all this is happening in America – if this was India,...

Larisa Oleynik is instantly recognizable to children of the 1990s. The actor spent four years as the titular character in the Nickelodeon hit series The Secret World of Alex Mack before she had a memorable arc on Boy Meets World (she had her first kiss with pal Rider Strong on film). On the big screen she had roles in The Baby-Sitters Club and 10 Things I Hate About You. As she put it, Oleynik was the 1990s "everygirl," and she has no qualms with being forever associated with the decade. "That decade resonates with me pretty heavily," the 38-year-old Oleynik told E! Fifteen years ago, two teenage girls were murdered at Merrymaker Campgrounds. The case was filed as an animal attack, the camp was condemned, and the killer never found. Now, years later Poppy (Christine Donlon) and Anita Bishop (Larisa Oleynik) get set to re-open their parent’s camp. And they even invite Roland Baumgarner (Christian Oliver), the novelist who made his name by penning a bestseller about the case, to the opening.
Billed as yet another Bigfoot/sasquatch movie, Animal Among Us is actually anything but. It is in fact a melding of genre tropes: monster movie, cabin in the woods film, survival horror, dramatic thriller, all rolled into one – sadly – dull genre film saved only by a surprising performance by former Alex Mack Larisa Oleynik.

It is in fact a melding of genre tropes: monster movie, cabin in the woods film, survival horror, dramatic thriller, all rolled into one – sadly – dull genre film saved only by a surprising performance by former Alex Mack Larisa Oleynik.

The murders that took place at Merrymaker Campgrounds were a tragedy, but they inspired best-selling author Roland Baumgarner's most successful book. Fifteen years after the violent events, the cabins at Merrymaker Campgrounds are reopening its doors for a new generation, but something bloodthirsty still waits among the trees in John Woodruff's Animal Among Us.

25 years ago, kids everywhere fell in love with a teenage girl with telekinetic powers who could turn into a mobile puddle of goo at will. When The Secret World of Alex Mack debuted on Nickelodeon on October 8, 1994, the thrilling series not only became one of the network's most-watched series, but created a teen idol out of star Larisa Oleynik, who would remain a favorite for millennials long after the show had gone off the air and roles had seemingly dried up for the young actress. For every Nick star like Ariana Grande or Melissa Joan Hart or Keke Palmer—you know, those who never really went away and only managed to get more famous once their time on the network ended—there are those like...

It's been over 20 years since 10 Things I Hate About You debuted. However, fans still have plenty of love for the '90s flick. Julia Stiles looked back at her role in the classic film during an interview with InStyle published Tuesday. "I am really grateful for that experience, and I don't take it for granted that people still care about a movie that came out 20 years ago," she told the magazine. "I see it as a positive thing." For those who haven't seen the movie, the film is about a new student named Cameron (played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) who desperately wants to date his fellow classmate Bianca (played by Larisa Oleynik). However, Bianca's father (Larry Miller)...

"You have a new perspective." Samuel Goldwyn Films has debuted an official trailer for an odd indie film titled Auggie, the feature directorial debut of English actor / filmmaker Matt Kane. This premiered at the Cinequest Film Festival this year, and also played at the Newport Beach, Greenwich, and Provincetown Film Festivals. From the looks of it, this seems like another kooky film much like Lars and the Real Girl about a man who falls in love with a fake woman. In Auggie, Richard Kind plays Felix Greystone, who is forced into early retirement and falls in love with an augmented reality companion, damaging his relationship with his wife and daughter. The cast includes Christen Harper as Auggie, plus Larisa Oleynik, Christine Donlon, Susan Blackwell, Steven M. Robertson, and James C. Victor. This seems way more sad and depressing than expected, but it's supposed to be a cautionary tale about technology and our addiction to it.

Directed and written by Matt Kane and co-written and produced by Marc Underhill of Thundercane Productions, Auggie follows early retiree Felix Greystone (Kind) who falls in love with an augmented reality companion, to the detriment of his relationship with his wife and daughter.
At his “early retirement” party, Felix is given a pre-release version of an “Auggie,” a pair of augmented reality smart glasses that project a perfectly human companion onto his world. When Felix’s wife Anne gets a promotion and his daughter Grace gets serious with her boyfriend, Felix suddenly feels very alone. He opens up to his new companion and is recognized and appreciated by her, and begins to fall for her.
Larisa Oleynik, Susan Blackwell and newcomer Christen Harper also star.
Auggie made its world premiere at Cinequest Film and Creativity Festival 2019 and later screened as part of the official selection in the Beverly Hills Film Festival and the Newport Beach Film Festival.
Said Kane, “Marc and I are thrilled to be partnering with Samuel Goldwyn Films, a company with deep roots in the world of quality film. We couldn’t think of a better fit to bring this film to audiences in the U.S.”
The deal was negotiated by Ben Feingold from Samuel Goldwyn with Kirk D’Amico from Myriad on behalf of the filmmakers.
Kind’s credits include Spin City, Gotham, American Dad and Amazon’s Red Oaks as well as such movies as Oscar Best Picture winner Ago, Pixar’s Inside Out and the Coen Brothers’ A Serious Man.

Can you believe it's been 20 years since 10 Things I Hate About You hit theaters? The 1999 teen rom-com, loosely based on Shakespeare's play The Taming of the Shrew, celebrated its anniversary over the weekend, and it still holds a special place in my heart. I think about Heath Ledger's rendition of "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" at least once a week - I'm not exaggerating.
The film stars Julia Stiles, Larisa Oleynik, Gabrielle Union, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, David Krumholtz, and the late Ledger as high school leads and gave fans some of the most quotable lines in teen movie history. On Saturday, Levitt (who played Cameron James) shared a special message on Instagram to commemorate the movie's anniversary. "'10 Things I Hate About You' came out 20 years ago today," he wrote. Say hello to your friends! Again! Netflix is making a new Baby-Sitters Club series. If you live under a rock, the Baby-Sitters Club is a series of books for young readers about a group of entrepreneurial tweens who start their own baby-sitting agency. See, it all started when Kristy Thomas’s single mother needed a baby-sitter for Kristy’s younger brother, David Michael. Kristy couldn’t do it, and as she watched her mother make call after call after call to find someone who was available, she had her Great Idea: What if you could call one number and reach several baby-sitters at once?
There aren’t a lot of details, but we do know that the series will follow the “friendship and babysitting adventures of five best friends,” so presumably it will be the Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, Stacey, and Dawn iteration of the club, and it will “reflect modern-day issues,...

After over three decades since the beginning of the beloved book series, The Baby-Sitters Club is getting a modern-day TV adaptation! The books - which spanned from 1986 to 2000 - focused on a group of girlfriends and babysitters living in Stoneybrook, Ct. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new series will feature all of the original main characters and reportedly tackle topics such as divorce, racism, and inclusivity.
The series is being backed by some industry heavyweights, too.
