Hulu has bought the Dannii Minogue-hosted I Kissed a Boy and follow-up I Kissed a Girl – the UK’s first ever queer dating series.
The reality series, which has drawn plaudits for its open-book approach to queer issues coupled with high drama, has been acquired as part of a package for the streamer’s Hulu Has Pride LGBTQ+ month.
Produced by ITV Studios-backed Twofour, the award-winning I Kissed A Boy aired last year and I Kissed A Girl is currently on BBC Three and iPlayer. The basic concept is that couples are matched up by experts and kiss in the seconds they first meet. They then live in a Love Island-style villa in which they can remain with the couples they are first paired with or seek alternatives, while some are slowly eliminated. Both seasons are hosted by singer and LGBTQ+ ally Minogue. The BBC said that the...

Australia’s favorite family of Blue Heeler dogs is expanding its YouTube presence. BBC Studios‘ social media division has launched Bluey Book Reads, an original series that pairs Bluey stories with celebrity narrators.
In each episode of Bluey Book Reads, a special guest reads from one of the dozens of Bluey books that follow the domestic life of the titular seven-year-old dog and her family of four. Bluey has run for three seasons on TV and streaming since its 2018 premiere, but for the Book Reads series, global distributor BBC Studios is taking the Heelers to their official YouTube channel. That’s where a teaser for the new show — and the first episode — landed on February 12.
BBC Studios’ Kids & Family unit developed Book Reads alongside Bluey producer Ludo Studio. The books featured in the series have all been published by Penguin Random House, a BBC Studios licensee. The celebrities who will...

TV star Sharon Osbourne would never judge a small screen talent show again because she doesn’t like how young contestants are treated. She also spoke about her co-judge Simon Cowell and said that he’s “never been a friend” of hers. The 71-year-old star was a judge on ‘The X Factor’ from 2004 to 2007, before returning in 2013, and again from 2016 to 2017, and also sat on the ‘America’s Got Talent’ panel between 2007 to 2012.
She told Best magazine: “I’d never do a talent show again. I’ve come to realise that the way they’re run isn’t right. Take kids. It’s not fair to put them through that schedule, that hard work.
“That’s particularly true of reality-based shows.
“The young people who appear on them are not mentally prepared for what is going to happen to them. When they fall by the wayside, they get brushed aside.”

Actor Ncuti Gatwa, filmmaker Asif Kapadia (“Amy”) and journalist-turned-screenwriter Terri White, who’s memoir “Coming Undone” is being adapted for Netflix, will serve as judges on the BMW Filmmaking Challenge. The competition is the result of a partnership between BMW and the BFI that aims to support aspiring U.K. filmmakers and uncover fresh perspectives in the film industry.
The initiative was launched earlier this year by BAFTA winner Michaela Coel (“I May Destroy You”). The BFI has shortlisted five teams from some 400 applications, awarding each a £10,000 production budget, access to 8K camera equipment and mentoring from Coel. Inspired by the all-electric BMW i7 and its ultra-wide 31.3-inch rear-passenger theatre screen, the challenge is designed to stretch filmmakers artistically and bring their stories to life in 90 seconds under the theme Evolving Perspectives.

The U.K.’s first gay dating show is about to air on BBC Three. “I Kissed A Boy,” fronted by Dannii Minogue, features 10 single men hoping to find love in a sunny villa in Italy.
Wait. Hang on. It’s 2023. How is this the U.K.’s first ever gay dating show? LGBTQ+ representation on television has changed immeasurably in the past decade — just look at E!’s “The Bi Life” and Netflix’s “Heartstopper.” It used to be that gay relationships were only explored after the watershed or in soap storylines, but these stories are now more mainstream than ever. Why has it taken this long for the U.K. to produce its first gay dating series?
Of course, British dating shows do feature LGBTQ+ contestants. Channel 4’s “First Dates,” MTV’s “Ex on the Beach” and E4’s “Married at First Sight” have all featured LGBTQ+ participants.

After five years of quietly gathering steam within the international TV community, the 2023 edition of the London TV Screenings is its biggest outing yet.
Running Feb. 27 to March 3, the event features more than 25 distributors and 400 buyers. But how did the confab evolve from a set of casual screenings by rival distributors of the BBC into an event that now rivals MipTV in Cannes?
Its genesis goes back to 1976, when BBC Showcase was created from 25 European buyers gathering in Brighton’s Old Ship Hotel to watch episodes of shows such as “Fawlty Towers,” and buy such programs for audiences back in their home countries. The showcase then moved to other locations, including Edinburgh and Harrogate, before returning to Brighton, and eventually relocating to Liverpool in 2012.
The number of distributors and rivals to the BBC grew, so they arranged meetings with buyers and partners in London after the Showcase and began to...

With the coronation of King Charles III just two months away, reports are emerging that the event is having a difficult time lining up entertainment.

So far, notes the outlet, Elton John, the Spice Girls and Harry Styles have been asked, and have all declined; as The Sun pointed out, it’s reportedly nothing personal, simply that the artists’ schedules are jam-packed.

Despite the best cameo efforts of Dannii Minogue, Krew Boylan’s passion project is too frantic and narcissistic to convince
This Australian movie is a colourful comedy of romance and finding yourself, and it’s clearly a personal project for its writer-star Krew Boylan. I sat down to it hoping for something like Muriel’s Wedding, the film that first introduced us to Toni Collette but unfortunately, there’s something a bit frantic and narcissistic about it: a film that doesn’t quite convince you to care enough about its characters or what they care about.
Red, played by Boylan, is a young woman who is employed in an estate agent’s office and pretty hopeless at the job because, in her goofy and adorable way, her real passion is Dolly Parton: imitating her, studying her and obsessing over her. She’s also a bit self-conscious about being redheaded and flat-chested.

That was the first of five boot camp shows - two set in a country house, and then three episodes of the dreaded Six Chair Challenge. They were all on Sundays, to avoid the Rugby World Cup, but then Judges' Houses aired on October 24 and October 25... and the first big live show will kick off on October 31. And the grand final? The show kicked off on August 29 - and in fact, in an attempt to avoid any clashes with Strictly Come Dancing, ITV bosses have unveiled the full schedule right from the off, so we know everything that's coming. You can get a proper look at it here, but auditions continued until Saturday, September 19 with Boot Camp kicking off on September 20. It's set for Sunday,...

After two weeks of a dramatic Country House boot camp, it's a goodbye to nice patio heaters and a hello to Wembley Arena - as the contestants take on the famously, completely and utterly brutal Six Chair Challenge. First up, it's the girls, and with such an exceptionally strong category we expect Rita will need to make some tough decisions.
Join us from 7pm as we bring you all the action live as it happens. In the meantime, why not read about the strop Simon threw after finding out his category was the Overs?
We're excited to see the judges being assigned their categories this evening, but we doubt it can possibly beat 2009, when Dannii Minogue revealed she had the girls category and Rachel Adedeji fell over.
20:59And that's it! We're all done with the girls and Six Chair Challenge for tonight. As always, thank you for joining us.

Dannii Minogue ''really tried'' to be on this series of 'The X Factor'. The 43-year-old singer - who was a judge on the talent show from 2007 to 2010 - was asked to assist one of the current panellists at the Judges' Houses stage of the competition this year, but her commitment to the Australian version of the show meant she was unable to take part. She said: I really did try and be a part of it this year, for the home visits, but they're filming them live this time, later on in the year, and I'll be back in Australia...

Can we officially rule Dannii Minogue out as a special guest on The X Factor's upcoming Judges' Houses?
The current X Factor Australia judge - and former UK one - told Gt Magazine that she would be unable to take part in the stage this year because ITV bosses planned to film it live.
However, it was recently confirmed that this series' Judges' Houses won't be completely live any more - so is there hope for Minogue yet?
On missing the UK following her relocation to her native Australia, the 43-year-old said: "It's nice when people stop me on the street and say they miss me on The X Factor.
"It's still a big part of my world, doing it in Australia. But I chose to go back to Australia with my little son, and to be close to my parents, my brother and his kids. It was a real life style choice.

Dannii Minogue is keen to come back to The X Factor - but she won't be joining Cheryl Fernandez-Versini at Judges' Houses this year after all.
The singer was keen to appear on the new series of the ITV show, but format changes – which will see the Judges' Houses section of the show go out live – have made it impossible.
The X Factor 2015: 8 big changes that have been made this series
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Minogue said: "I was trying to come back to X Factor here as it fell that I'd be in the country at the same time as the Judges' Houses, so I thought I could join up with Cheryl or something."
The X Factor 2015: The only Cheryl gifs you need from the series premiere
The X Factor Australia judge added: "But sadly they're filming the Judges' Houses live this year, so it didn't work out.

The X Factor is back on Saturday and while we're looking forward to discovering fresh talent, we're also hoping for some must-see drama.
Some of our favourite X Factor moments have come from the auditions that didn't go quite as planned, from Ablisa's legendary fisticuffs to George's famous face-off with Tulisa. The X Factor is upping its game for Saturday night supremacy against Strictly Come Dancing this year by bringing in two new judges – Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw and Voice defector Rita Ora.
Rita has had a bit of natter with The X Factor's official press team about her expectations for series 12, and we bring you the nine biggest talking points below:
1. Why leave The Voice for X Factor?
Simon Cowell certainly didn't pull any punches in his ratings battle with the BBC this year, stealing away The Voice's Rita Ora for his new-look judging panel.
"There's always been the hearsay of whether or not I'll do it for the past three or four years in the papers," she acknowledged. "But it was all about timing for me. X Factor is a big deal to me, I wanted to make sure I was ready for it. There was a lot to do with my schedule,...

She might have left The X Factor after the 2010 series but rumours have suggested that Dannii Minogue could be back this year.
According to Metro, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has personally requested that Minogue joins her for the Judges' Houses stage of the competition.
Apparently, it's all working out quite nicely as Minogue is filming her X Factor Australia Judges' Houses in the UK and won't have too far to travel, as Fernandez-Versini is hosting hers in France.
The report also claims that Simon Cowell has bagged Paloma Faith to join new judge Nick Grimshaw, saying that he's hoping this will deter her from signing up to BBC One's rival singing show The Voice UK.
But none of this is confirmed at the moment - Grimshaw was previously said to be planning to take Jess Glynne with him to Judges' Houses - and the report suggests that Cowell has ditched Sinitta,...

Could Simon Cowell not take a day out of his hectic schedule to (lightly) bang Louis Walsh and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's heads together?
The bickering pair, who should know better, just cannot let bygones be bygones as they publicly entered their latest war of words.
Walsh seems to be at his most content when he's shooting his mouth off about the star, recently igniting their age-old feud by describing her as "lazy" and irrelevant" during his latest interview.
Cheryl took the bait and claimed Walsh - who previously dressed up as the popstar for a laugh - must have "some kind of an obsession" with her, and advised him to use his mouth to "say something positive". Which seems unlikely...
Even Simon Cowell has commented on their spat and likened the pair to Tom and Jerry.

Would you be able to pick out lesser known members of S Club Juniors and Blazin' Squad today?
That's the task presented to Ant & Dec during this weekend's episode of Britain's Got More Talent, when presenter Stephen Mulhern gets them to play a special version of Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
After watching a snippet of S Club Juniors' 'One Step Closer' music video, Ant has to pick out singer Stacey McClean from a lineup of five women.
Here's a clue - you may recognise the real McClean from her appearance on The X Factor back in 2009, when she made it to Dannii Minogue's final six in Dubai.
Dec is faced with a more difficult task when he's asked to find Blazin' Squad's Mc Freak, who is today better known by his real name Oli Georgiou. Can you pick out the real Mc Freak?

The X Factor's very own Cheryl Fernandez-Versini took to the stage to perform her latest single last night - but it's hardly the first time the former Girls Aloud songstress has shown her stuff on the ITV show.
'I Don't Care' got us thinking about Cheryl's past performances on The X Factor, so what else could we do but rank them? (I mean, obviously Cheryl's swan-dive for 'Call My Name' was the best ever, but that was awkwardly on The Voice when she still hated Simon Cowell. Oh well.)

When it comes to reality TV, there are plenty of options to choose from. In the U.S., fans have everything from long-running classics, such as America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway, to the new era of celebreality on VH1 with Candidly Nicole and Love & Hip-Hop. While the U.S. seems to have mastered the world of addictive reality programming, there are definitely international options that are worth making time for.
If you can’t get enough of the drama, shows like Geordie Shore and The Real Housewives of Melbourne should be on your to-watch list.
The Bachelor Australia
While the U.S. version has been on for 18 seasons — the next season premieres in January of 2015 — and spawned several spin-offs, the series is still very fresh Down Under. The second season of the show premiered in July and still has the exciting appeal that made the first few American seasons so enjoyable.

It's (almost) time to face the music! The X Factor is back tomorrow - Tomorrow, People - and we're getting very excited. And, it seems, so are the judges! Simon, Cheryl, Louis and Dermot (Mel was in the States) took to the stage at the show's launch earlier this week to give us some clues about what we can expect. Read on for all the highlights from their press conference as we bring you nine things to expect this series...
1. Cheryl and Simon might have been away for a while... but they slipped right back into things.
"It's been like I've never been away, to be honest," Cheryl said. "Like the last four years evaporated and we're back to square one." Simon felt the same way, while, er, Louis has never left. "I think the talent this year is amazing," he said, though. "I think it's a different show, we're having more fun,...

The X Factor judge Simon Cowell said that he's not interested in sob stories or second-rate versions of existing acts.
Speaking ahead of this week's X Factor return, the music mogul said that he will be looking for something different this year.
"You want somebody who's different from anyone else in the charts at the moment," he explained.
"I don't want to sound biased, but I think Ella Henderson is a really good example of how an artist and a show can work really well together, because we could have released her music in six months. We waited for two years, and she came sixth on the show.
"She represents everything that's great about this country, about the show, and how the label can help someone become a big, big star. I'm really proud of what she's achieved, and she's a great ambassador for the show."

As we hurtle towards the end of August, one TV show is looming large in the not-so-distant horizon. The X Factor.
Forget all that Big Brother nonsense and soggy bottom silliness on Bake Off. Cowell and Cheryl are back in town and they mean business.
Here is everything we know about the show's 11th series so far...
Warning: Spoilers Ahead
1. When is it back?
Very, very soon. The X Factor has traditionally started in August (ever since series two) and it looks likely that it will return on Saturday, August 30 this year. That is one day earlier than series ten, which kicked off with ratings of 8.78 million.
No doubt Simon Cowell will be wanting to increase those ratings figures in 2014 now that he's back at the helm. He wouldn't want to come off second best to Gary Barlow.
2. The Judges
Simon is back. Nobody mention X Factor USA.
He's managed to persuade Cheryl back.

Dannii Minogue has revealed that she is recording new music and discussing further television projects.
The singer told Fault magazine that she has new material in the pipeline but does not want to release anything until she is sure that it is "special".
"I recorded some stuff that I've co-written and some stuff that friends have written and others that I've found and just love," she said.
"I'm just trying out loads of different stuff with no pressure of a record company or a deal or a date or anything.
"I'm just seeing if I can find that something special but, again, it's been so long since I've done it that I don't want to come back with something unless it's special."
Minogue, who has served as a judge on The X Factor in the UK and her native Australia, also said that she has been planning a move into the production side of television.

Dannii Minogue is planning a UK TV comeback. The 42-year-old singer - who starred as a judge on 'The X Factor' from 2007 to 2010 - has revealed she wants to return to British television screens and is waiting for an opportunity that can live up to the popular ITV reality show. Piers Morgan will reportedly sign a new deal with ITV when his current two-year contract expires at the end of June.
The TV presenter will sign a non-exclusive deal with the broadcaster, The Sun reports.
It is claimed Morgan will host another six episodes of his Life Stories interview series, in addition to a new factual series.
There have been 69 episodes of Piers Morgan's Life Stories spread over 11 series since 2009.
Interviewees have included the likes of celebrities Sharon Osbourne, Katie Price, Simon Cowell, Elton John and Dannii Minogue, as well as politicians John Prescott, Ann Widdecombe and former Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Morgan has been tipped to return to ITV's Britain's Got Talent in 2015 as a replacement for David Walliams.
The controversial former Daily Mirror editor was axed from CNN earlier this year after a three-year stint as the replacement for Larry King, later quipping about being 'unemployed'.
