Rosanna Arquette, Melinda McGraw, Frank Grillo, Dennis Haysbert and Dee Wallace are the first to be cast in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm director Jason Woliner’s Peacock series, from The Disaster Artists producers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Caviar.
There are few details about the series, which Peacock describes as a “mind-bending project” in the style of Woliner’s work on Borat Subsequent Moviefilm that “mixes fact and fiction to tell a bizarre and incredible tale.” Woliner, who has directed episodes of The Last Man on Earth and Nathan for You, apparently has been shooting for more than a decade.

Hulu has ordered a pilot for a comedy series called “Woke” with Lamorne Morris set to star, Variety has learned.
“Woke” is a half-hour comedy with a mix of live-action and animation. It is inspired by the life and art of cartoonist Keith Knight. The series follows Keef (Morris), an African-American cartoonist living in San Francisco, who’s finally on the cusp of mainstream success when an unexpected incident changes everything.
Knight co-wrote the project with “Barbershop” scribe Marhsall Todd, with both set to serve as executive producers. Will Gluck and Richie Schwartz will executive produce via Olive Bridge Entertainment along with Eric Christian Olsen and Katie Schumaecker for Cloud Nine Productions. Mo Marable will direct the pilot. Sony Pictures Television will produce.
Morris is best known for playing the cat-loving and bird shirt-wearing Winston Bishop on the popular Fox comedy “New Girl” throughout its seven-season run at the network.

Exclusive: NCIS: Los Angeles co-star Eric Christian Olsen is expanding his relationship with the studio behind the long-running CBS crime drama. The actor has signed a first-look deal with CBS Television Studios. The project, from Stephen Levinson's Leverage and Mark Wahlberg's Closest to the Hole, revolves around Ben (Greenberg) and his friend Cam (Rasuk), enterprising twentysomethings who hustle their way through New York determined to achieve the American dream.
Ian Edelman penned the script and is executive producing with Levinson, Wahlberg, Rob Weiss and the pilot's director, Julian Farino.

The untitled Victor Fresco project, from 20th Century Fox TV, centers on a 10-year-old boy who tries to navigate life in his high-achieving, overstressed family with the help of his eccentric grandfather (Tom Conti).
Hupp will play the boy's mother. She replaces Andrea Parker, who originally was tapped for the role. Parker, who was the first actor cast in the pilot, has been suffering from laryngitis.
Hupp, who co-starred on NBC's Ed, is repped by APA.

Jack Warden, George Segal, Ossie Davis and Rip Torn are heading into Retirement for director Charlie Picerni. Billy Burke also has been cast in the indie feature being produced by Corner Stone Pictures. The comedy revolves around four grumpy old men who must go on a road trip to prevent one of their daughters from marrying the wrong guy. The script was written by Michael Pietrzak and Jon Warner. Pietrzak and Picerni are producing. Shooting is scheduled to begin shooting in February in Florida's South Beach, New Orleans and Las Vegas. Warden, who was nominated for best supporting Oscars for Heaven Can Wait and Shampoo, most recently appeared in 2000's The Replacements. He is repped by APA Agency. Up-and-comer Dave Annable and Maggie Lawson have been tapped as the leads in Fox's midseason comedy pilot Spellbound. Spellbound, from Warner Bros. TV, centers on a modern-day male witch (Annable) who falls in love with a mortal woman (Lawson). The project from Rob Greenberg and Suzanne Martin was first developed as a pilot for NBC last year with Richard Ruccolo and Andrea Anders playing the leads. Annable, onscreen in the feature Little Black Book, is repped by the Gersh Agency and manager Sue Leibman. Lawson, who starred on ABC's comedy It's All Relative last season, was most recently seen in ABC Family's original movie Love Rules this summer.
