Cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema is on board director of photography for Jordan Peele’s new thriller “Nope,” Variety can confirm.

Hoytema’s credits include “Dunkirk,” “Tenet,” “Interstellar” and “Her.”
As previously announced, Peele writes and directs and Daniel Kaluuya will star, alongside Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun. Recently announced cast members include “Euphoria” actor Barbie Ferreira, “The Oa” star Brandon Perea and Michael Wincott.
The Universal Pictures film is scheduled to debut in theaters on July 22, 2022, and Peele is producing alongside Ian Cooper of Monkeypaw Productions.

A new organization – the Property Masters Guild – has been formed “to provide professional continuing educational opportunities, cultivate future generations of property masters, and foster greater collaboration amongst property masters and the craft.”
Joshua Meltzer, whose many credits include Dexter, Will & Grace and 2 Broke Girls, is the guild’s first president. With 78 founding members, the guild was started by Meltzer and three other veteran prop masters — Gregg Bilson, Hope Parrish and Chris Call — who first met to discuss the formation of the group in 2017.
The new nonprofit professional association is not a labor union, however. For collective bargaining purposes, prop masters are covered by IATSE Prop Local 44, and the newly launched guild says that it “believes strongly in the union’s authority and leadership.”
“The Property Masters Guild has long been a dream for many of us in the craft,” Meltzer said. “The property master is arguably one of the most...

On Sunday's episode of Dexter, Miami Metro unearthed a pair of rotted corpses wrapped in a shower curtain: the long-buried victims of this season's obligatory serial killer, Wayne Randall. If you were watching in HD, you may have noticed the skeletons' disturbingly realistic remnants of hair and muscle or the cockroaches emerging from at least one orifice. That gory scene was masterminded by Joshua Meltzer, the prop master responsible for crafting all the blood, body parts, crime scenes, and weapons in Dexter Morgan's universe. "I've created a lot of wonderful and memorable props over the years, but Dexter is a prop master's dream," says Meltzer, who has been working in television for 36 years (including runs on Who's the Boss?, Dinosaurs, and The Vampire Diaries). Among the unique challenges presented to Dexter's prop department: mounting dismembered body parts on horseback, cramming live bodies into barrels, building a seven-headed alligator, and...

Bloodthirsty "Dexter" fans don't have to wait for the Sunday, Sept. 26 premiere for a taste of his special brand of justice.
Zap2it has the exclusive first look at the "Dexter" Kill Room where, in the words of Emmy nominee Michael C. Hall, Dexter "does the deed."
In the behind-the-scenes peek, the set dressers and prop people admit that they find the Kill Room just as creepy as we do. We've certainly never looked at plastic wrap and painter's drop cloths -- 4 millimeters -- the same way again.
But hey, Halloween is coming up, and if you'd like to set up a Kill Room (for fun atmosphere only, not for actual use) in your haunted house, prop master Joshua Meltzer breaks it down for you.
We also love how Hall gets into character, watching the Kill Room get set up so he can "imagine that's my handiwork."
That handiwork will...
