We've been talking about Alex Winter's proposed 3D remake of The Gate for what feels like forever now. Will it happen? If so, when? Well, things became a little bit clearer today during an interview with Winter, and we even have a teaser poster to boot!
According to an interview with Screen Read, it's looking like the film will be ready for fall of 2011 with shooting to begin Asap.
Winter will be working from a script penned by himself and Kerric Macdonald. Charlotte Huggins (Journey to the Center of the Earth) and Andras Hamori are producing. The legendary H.R. Giger will be designing the creatures

One remake we're looking forward to that has a really good chance of being good is Alex Winter's redux of The Gate in 3D. If Winter can capture just a fraction of the original film's charm then we're pretty damned golden. Some concept art snuck online today along with a boat load of details about the film.

Alex Winter's The Gate 3D , a redo of the '87 film we've been keeping you in the loop on, begins production this summer. Shooting commences in Cologne, Germany's Mmc Studios. The film is receiving a big boost in financing from the area. According to ScreenDaily, visual effects are being handled by the Frankfurt and Stuttgart studios of Pixomondo (Roland Emmerich's 2012 .
