A decade into her solo career, Beyoncé effectively evaded irrelevancy by wresting control of her own narrative. After her 2011 album 4 failed to produce a Top 10 hit—to date, her only album to do so—the singer began dropping albums without any pre-release promotion, sidestepping chart expectations and reimagining the traditional pop album release strategy. Since then, she’s done few interviews and often glides into awards shows donning dark shades and a straight face, shrewdly creating a superstar mystique in the vein of Michael Jackson and Prince.
That approach, thankfully, has been accompanied by some of Beyoncé’s most creative, political, and inspired work to date. Her 2016 visual album Lemonade drew on her personal experiences as a Black woman to comment on feminism and racism in the Me Too and Black Lives Matter era, while its follow-up, 2022’s Renaissance, kept the focus squarely on the music, inspired by and dedicated...

Recently, body language expert, Judi James, discussed The Voice coach, Shay Mooney’s actions. She expresses his movements indicate “power splay.” Additionally, saying he is using “weaponized flirting” in the course of the show interactions.
Shay Mooney Is Trying To Be Smooth
During seasons of The Voice, the coaches’ positions are often uncertain. In a clip from Tuesday night’s Battle Rounds, Shay Mooney is talking to Reba McEntire, John Legend, and host, Carson Daily. Furthermore, mischievously stirring the pot, he says, “Reba, I feel like you are so far away. I would love it if you were over here and John was way down there.” But easing the bash he tells John Legend, “You do smell really good.” John looks away and chuckles slightly. But Shay continues by admitting he doesn’t have a scent and needs to get one. John casually adds to the slightly awkward conversation, “You just feel a little sexier.

“Salem’s Lot” Will Skip Theaters to Stream Exclusively
The long-in-development film adaptation of Stephen King’s “Salem’s Lot” is being made, after all, but will no longer premiere in theaters, opting for a Max-exclusive streaming premiere this year with an official date to be announced later.
Originally intended for a September 2022 theatrical release, New Line Cinema pushed the film to 2023 citing the Covid-19 pandemic shutdown for delays before removing it from its release calendar entirely. King’s 1975 novel was first adapted for the screen with CBS’s 1979 miniseries starring David Soul.
“Salem’s Lot” is written and directed by Gary Dauberman (“Annabelle”). The new version will see Ben Mears (Lewis Pullman) return to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot looking to come up with an idea for a new novel but discovers his hometown’s residents are becoming vampires.

No one can play Buffy Summers, the girl chosen by fate to be a vampire Slayer, better than Sarah Michelle Gellar. She's not the only one who's tried though.
For starters, Gellar is actually the sophomore Slayer — Buffy was first played by Kristy Swanson in the original "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" movie from 1992 (that's been soundly displaced by the TV series in pop culture). For the TV series, Charisma Carpenter originally auditioned for Buffy, but ultimately played Queen Bee Cordelia Chase instead, the part that Gellar turned down. The whole point of Cordelia is that she's what Buffy was before she became the Slayer (an acerbic popular girl), so casting Gellar and Carpenter made sense. In another world, they could pull off each others' parts.
Carpenter wasn't the only runner-up to play Miss Summers. Back in 2001, when "Buffy" was still ongoing and sensation, Natasha Lyonne appeared on "The Howard Stern Show...

Presented by Lisa Frankenstein, 1989 Week is dialing the clock back to the crossroads year for the genre with a full week of features that dig six feet under into the year. Today, Rachel Reeves lists the five baddest teen queens of 1989.
Bridging the gap between the ’80s and ’90s, 1989 was an interesting year for horror. With a robust roster of strong slasher icons to lean on, innovative sub-genres and a thriving physical media industry, 1989 desperately clung to the last gasp of the ’80s while tentatively experimenting with what the ’90s might bring. Along with a wealth of later-entry franchise sequels, this indecisive decade straddling also resulted in some eclectic representations of all-to-familiar tropes, including the “bad girl.”

If you ask anyone over the age of 25, they'll probably tell you that there's no dollar amount in the world that could ever make them want to go back to high school, and for good reason — high school can be hell. Teen films have been a popular and profitable subgenre for decades, but few films have become a cultural phenomenon quite like "Mean Girls." The film centers on teenager Cady Heron who is starting public school for the first time as a high school junior, having been spared from the cruel cliques or popularity warfare on campus. After a few less-than-stellar days, she catches the eye of Queen Bee Regina George, the leader of a popular clique known as The Plastics who rule North Shore High School with perfectly manicured nails and hair insured for $10,000 (or full of secrets).

We all know what happened after 2004’s Mean Girls – Regina became a lacrosse champ, Karen used her psychic boobs to present the morning weather announcements, Gretchen co-opted the Cool Asians, and Cady floated in a newly repaired girl world… while keeping a beady eye on any emerging Young Plastics set to reinstate the old hierarchy. Now there’s a film of the musical of the film.

After four enlightening, entertaining and full-frontally filthy years of Sex Education, this Netflix teen drama is coming to an end with its fourth and final series, as the Moordale kids finish up their school years for good.
A lot has changed as we enter the new series. Moordale Secondary has closed down, scattering the student body we grew to love over the first three series far and wide, and Otis and Eric are starting at the unnervingly progressive wonderland that is Cavendish College, with a whole new set of classmates to get to know. We’ve come a long way since the start of “Sex Education,” when we were all rooting for (or at least commiserating with) Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield), the Netflix dramedy’s awkward, anxious and slightly dysfunctional hero. Four years later, we’re saying goodbye to the show’s high school student-turned-amateur sex therapist and his brilliant sex therapist mother, Dr. Jean Milburn (played by the incomparable Gillian Anderson), along with a lengthy cast of characters we’ve all grown to love.
In this final season, we get to see each character develop into the people we’ve wanted them to become. And in a sense, it seems like some end up outshining Otis, making it feel like perhaps he was never really the hero of this story, but rather an entry point into the interwoven lives of the diverse residents of the fictional town of Moordale.

“The man who attacked my husband had a tattoo on his face… of an octopus!” That line is delivered with funeral home-seriousness in new Prime Video series Shelter. It is far from alone. “By all means,” says one character with the earnest commitment of an Oscar-clip, “proceed with your twisted mind games and murdering of drama teachers!” Another poignantly confides in a friend about his mother’s depression with the sad words, “It started when she was a teen tennis pro.”

Rachel McAdams had been anointed Hollywood's latest "It Girl" when she was tapped to grace the cover of Vanity Fair's 2006 Oscar issue alongside Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson. She was coming off a string of critical and commercial successes in "Mean Girls," "The Notebook," "Red Eye" and "The Family Stone," and appeared to be on the cusp of superstardom. But when McAdams learned, upon arriving at the Tom Ford photoshoot, that she was expected to pose nude, she walked, promptly fired her publicist (who'd failed to inform her of the shoot's parameters), and pressed the pause button on her film career.
Prior to the #MeToo revolution, firing up double rockets at the exploitative Hollywood movie star machine was considered career suicide. This was how women got smeared with the "difficult" label. McAdams, however, persevered and has established herself as one of the most brilliantly unpredictable actors of her generation. She's...

At the start of 2023, Nick Cave got angry. Angry at artificial intelligence for making a mockery of his career. Songwriting has long been associated with the inherent ability to be soulful. But now one Google search will throw up endless AI capable of making lyricism universal: Audoir for song lyrics and poetry, Jarvis for banishing writer’s block, and ChatGPT for anything, everything and more. To put it plainly, the 65-year-old singer had had enough of being simulated.
“With all the love and respect in the world, the track is bulls*** and a grotesque mockery of what it is to be human,” he responded in a blog post to a fan who’d sent him song lyrics “in the style of Nick Cave”, generated by ChatGPT.
“Songs arise out of suffering… as far as I know, algorithms don’t feel,” he added. “Data doesn’t suffer. ChatGPT has no inner being,...

Could The Real Housewives of New Jersey experience a major cast turnover after this season? Former Rhonj producer Carlos King believes that season 13 will be Melissa Gorga’s last now that sister-in-law Teresa Giudice doesn’t want to film with her.
King said Bravo will always choose Giudice over Gorga, which likely means Gorga will be missing from the Rhonj Season 14 roster.
Why are Joe and Melissa Gorga ‘done’ after ‘Rhonj’ Season 13
King doesn’t see a path forward between Gorga and Giudice. “Teresa has said on my podcast and everywhere I am done with the Gorgas,” he said on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast. “I’m done with my brother, I’m done with Melissa. I will never speak to them again. If Teresa still feels that way. I don’t see a world to where Melissa and Joe can come back from that.”

The author of the book which inspired the movie ‘Mean Girls’ has claimed that she hasn’t profited from its huge success, reports mirror.co.uk.

People have strong opinions, both good and bad, about films directed by Quentin Tarantino.
Regardless of your opinion on the filmmaker, though there’s no denying his new releases demand to be seen – if only in order in order to debate whether they rank up there with Pulp Fiction (1994) or way down with The Hateful Eight (2017).
Even if viewers don't like a particular Tarantino film, there'll probably be a small part they do like, thanks to his knack for creating fantastic characters – not to mention casting the perfect people in those roles.
It's no surprise that actors including Samuel L Jackson, Uma Thurman and Leonardo DiCaprio rush to be in his films – all three of whom have delivered some of their best performances in Tarantino films.
Following news of Tarantino’s next film, which is expected to be the last before his retirement, we have ranked the director’s 30 greatest characters.

The end is approaching for Riverdale.
The seventh and final season premieres Wednesday, March 29, on The CW, and if the first trailer is any indication, the trippy storytelling that made the first few seasons a success is making a comeback.
When Riverdale Season 6 concluded in 2022, the gang was transported back to the 1950s, which looks to be the setting for the final chapter.
In true Riverdale fashion, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) appears to be the only person who knows what's happening in this new timeline.
"We were all sent back in time," Jughead tells his friends.
"We need to get back."
However, his friends are far too interested in spending their time at school than unraveling the mysteries surrounding their lives.
"Jughead, we're juniors in high school. Life's good," Archie (Kj Apa) says.
"Why would we want to go back? ... We are not from the future!"

The plastics in Mean Girls almost looked a little different.
Amanda Seyfried, who played Karen Smith in the 2004 film, originally auditioned for the role of Regina George, which eventually went to Rachel McAdams.
“I’d flown out to L.A. for the first time with my mother. It was very exciting,” Seyfried told Vanity Fair in a recent interview. “I met Lacey Chabert for the first time, and Lindsay Lohan was in the room, and Blake Lively was playing Karen, and then I was Regina.”
The Emmy-winning actress left the room thinking she’d get a call either telling her that she did or didn’t get the part of the Queen Bee, but instead, they had another offer for her.
“I flew home, and they were like, ‘We think you’re more correct for Karen,'” she said. “So I was like, ‘Oh god, Ok, sure.'”

The Masked Singer is back, with fans tuning in every Saturday night to try to guess which celebrity is behind each costume.
Comedian Joel Dommett has returned to host proceedings, with 13 mystery stars singing familiar songs on stage, while dressed up in an outfit obscuring their identity.
Guessing along with the in-studio audience and the viewers at home are the judges: Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Jonathan Ross.
One way to help narrow things down is checking out who’s been on the series before – as it seems unlikely they’d return to the show (although not impossible).
So here’s a full list of who appeared on seasons one, two, three and four…
Season one
Winner: Nicola Roberts – Queen Bee
Jason Manford – Hedgehog
Katherine Jenkins – Octopus
CeeLo Green – Monster
Denise van Outen – Fox
Jake Shears – Unicorn
Skin – Duck
Kelis – Daisy
Teddy Sheringham – Tree
Justin Hawkins – Chameleon

Get out your pink shirts and hide your burn books because we've got some pretty fetch news to share. The Broadway adaptation of the hit movie "Mean Girls" is getting the movie musical treatment, bringing Cady, Janis, Damian, and the Plastics to the streaming screen. This means that "Mean Girls" is now joining the ranks of other favorites like "The Producers," "Little Shop of Horrors," "The Phantom of the Opera," and "Hairspray" as a movie that became a musical that then became a movie musical.
The "Mean Girls" musical is one of the best film-to-stage adaptations in recent years, so the announcement of the movie musical is very exciting. Not to make anyone feel so old that they spontaneously age into dust or anything, but the Lindsay Lohan-starring "Mean Girls" turns 20 in two years. The movie musical is the perfect way to get everyone in the mood for the...

Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auli’i Cravalho and Jaquel Spivey have joined the ensemble cast of Paramount Pictures’ new “Mean Girls” film based on the Tony-nominated Broadway musical in the roles of Cady, Regina, Janis and Damian.
Arturo Perez and Samantha Jayne are directing with Tina Fey writing the adaptation. Plot details for the adaptation, produced by Fey and Lorne Michaels, are being kept under wraps. Of course, the 2004 film, “Mean Girls,” focused on the story of Cady Heron, who moves to suburban Illinois after being homeschooled in Africa, and wants to be popular. She takes on The Plastics and becomes frenemies with Regina George. But soon, she learns the hard way that you just shouldn’t mess with the Queen Bee.

The holiday season is now upon us, and it seems only right that we’re heading into December with a brand new Christmas-themed genre movie arriving in theaters later this week.
I’m of course talking about the David Harbour-starring Violent Night, which features the “Stranger Things” actor as an ass-kicking version of none other than Santa himself.
But that’s not the only new genre movie arriving this week…
Here’s all the new horror headed down the chimney November 28 – December 4, 2022!
This week is all quiet on the horror front until Thursday, December 1, which kicks off with the release of The Harbinger, which has been favorably compared to Nightmare on Elm Street.
