“The Price of Glee”, a three-part limited documentary, is pulling back the curtain on the cultural phenomenon that was “Glee”.
When the high school musical series from Ryan Murphy first debuted in 2009, it quickly broke down barriers, set records and changed the music and TV industry. It also made super stars out of its ensemble cast, including Cory Monteith, Mark Salling and Naya Rivera, whose lives were eventually cut short in very different, very tragic ways, leaving a dark cloud looming over the series that became rocked by scandals, gossip and more.
In the series, which premieres Monday, Jan. 16 on ID and discovery+, relatives and friends of the “Glee” cast, including Rivera’s father George and Monteith’s roommate Justin Neill, as well as those who were on set or covered the production during its six-season run, are speaking out.

Mary Ann may have been an afterthought in the original lyrics to the Gilligan’s Island theme song ("...the movie star and the rest"), but Dawn Wells’ fans haven’t forgotten about her. The beloved actress who played the farm girl in the classic '60s sitcom recently fell on financial hard times due to complications following knee surgery. That’s when her friend Dugg Kirkpatrick sent an Sos to her fans, who rallied to raise more than $180,000 in a few weeks via the website GoFundMe to help pay her medical bills and move her into assisted living. "There simply aren’t enough words," Dawn, 79, exclusively told Closer Weekly — in the magazine's latest issue, on newsstands now! — of her reaction to the campaign. "I am both honored and embarrassed, but overall I am overwhelmed with the love that is being expressed for me." (Photo Credit: Getty Images) Dawn admitted she...

The GoFundMe campaign, launched by Dugg Kirkpatrick — who describes Wells as his “dearest friend” — has of this writing raised more than $58,000 out of its $180,000 goal.

Cold. Hard. Cash. We love it when companies are willing to put their money where their mouths are. Massachusetts-based web studio OurTVSpace is offering up $10,000 to a writer (or writing team) to develop a full 20-episode original web series as part of their New Media Fellow program. Entries for the program are being accepted through August 15th. I spoke to OurTVSpace founder Doug Kirkpatrick from his office in Sturbridge, Ma, who said he created the program as a way to bring top writing talent to the production team to develop their next web series.

It's safe to say that this week's web series picks are the only place that gives you a tasty mix of John McCain-loving sexy neo-cons with a side of spooky Massachusetts high school girls and topped-off with a creepy middle-aged New Jersey man. How do we even begin to pull a theme out of that? We can't. But we watched them, laughed, were creeped out a little, and laughed a little more. So here they are - Oldbury Hill, The McCaingels and The Speed Creeper. Oldbury Hill The premise of this thriller from OurTVSpace and creator Doug Kirkpatrick is like 90210 in reverse—a high school senior moves from Beverly Hills to a small sleepy town in Massachusetts (fictional Oldbury Hill) and tries to fit in to her new life and new school all while trying to figure out a "centuries old dark secret that threatens to change the world.
