Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are unforgettable actors. And even early in their careers, they stood out in a sea of extras, according to Kevin Costner.
In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Costner recalled his memories of the young stars working on Field of Dreams.
“They were sitting in the stands, like college guys, and they came up, and they both leaned in at the same time, leaned back at the same time, looked at each other at the same time as we talked,” he says. “And they had this big enthusiasm. They were on fire. I do remember them, absolutely.”
Jimmy Kimmel then read a text message from Damon, who recalled the moment from his perspective.
“I remember it well,” the text said. “I literally had an Untouchables poster on my wall. He came out and hung around with the extras between setups. I asked him what he was doing,...

As an actor himself, Josh Brolin had a different approach when it came to putting on his director’s hat for an episode on the TV series Outer Range.
The Dune: Part Two star recently opened up to Esquire about how he prepared for his television directing debut, as well as what it was like working with actors from behind the camera.
Brolin first expanded on a joke he made during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where he said, “I don’t particularly love actors as an actor.” However, he told host Jimmy Kimmel at the time that he had a different perspective of them from a director’s point of view.
Now, he clarified to Esquire that it’s difficult with actors, particularly those who are harder to work with. “Especially people who won’t come to the set and that kind of shit,” he explained. “If there’s a good reason,...

According to a complaint filed through the Los Angeles County Superior Court, while Curry was working as a segment producer on the ABC series The Prank Panel. Knoxville allegedly “chased down and tased” him without any provocation. Knoxville was co-hosting the show with Eric Andre.
Curry now claims that the incident had caused him to experience “freezing, losing all motor skills and collapsing with his entire body in a rigid and tense state.” He also claims he broke his fibula and tore a ligament. Curry revealed that at least 25 people witnessed the incident.

Former New York Governor, former Donald Trump lawyer, and current guy who owes $150 million to election workers he defamed Rudy Giuliani celebrated his 80th birthday this weekend. Oh, and several process servers who, alerted by Giuliani gloating on social media about how successfully he’s been dodging subpoenas for trying to subvert democracy (in Arizona this time), waited until “Happy Birthday” was sung to put the legal documents in Rudy’s baffled hands.

Get ready for one of the most hyped Marvel releases of the year! Deadpool & Wolverine are on their way to tickle your funny bone (and possibly rip a few off) with their buddy anti-hero action comedy, and we finally have an official synopsis that sounds as nuts as the genre we mentioned above. And it seems like Marvel Studios is fully into this R-rated ride.
Ryan Reynolds and High Jackman in Deadpool & Wolverine| Marvel Studios
Though the previous trailers have perfectly encapsulated the wild adventure fans can expect in the upcoming MCU flick, the various cameos and multiple plotlines might sound rather confusing. And it seems like the studio is just as clueless and quite fed up with Wade Wilson’s gore-filled shenanigans.

In the original Top Gun which was released in 1986, Tom Cruise’s Maverick spends a lot of time butting heads with Val Kilmer’s Iceman. However, the film’s ending saw the two turn their rivalry into an unexpected friendship and thus gave fans one of the best bonds in the film. Val Kilmer then returned to the role in Top Gun: Maverick, although for a short period of time.

Just in case you weren’t sure where Jimmy Kimmel stood in the upcoming presidential election, he’s making it explicit, taking part in an upcoming fundraiser that will see him in conversation with President Biden and Former President Obama.
The event, which is scheduled to take place June 15th in Los Angeles, comes on the heels of a New York event hosted by Kimmel’s late-night competitor Stephen Colbert. That event, which saw Colbert interview Biden, Obama and Bill Clinton at Radio City Music Hall, raised a record-setting $26 million for Biden’s reelection campaign.
A venue hasn’t yet been announced for Kimmel’s event, but it’s set to include at least two other Hollywood heavy hitters in George Clooney and Julia Roberts, who are being billed as “special guests.”

Last summer’s strikes, as writers and actors took on the studios, led to historic change – but how is the industry faring now?
Fans of Pete Davidson who tuned in to watch him host Saturday Night Live were disappointed to find a rerun instead. Viewers of Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel found they too had gone dark. While late-night TV had found ingenious ways to stay on air during a global pandemic, this was different.
It was a year ago this month that screenwriters hit the picket lines. Actors followed suit with a walkout in mid-July, the first time that the two unions had been on strike together since 1960. As Hollywood came to a standstill, studios were forced to the negotiating table on issues including minimum pay, streaming residuals and guardrails against the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

Less than a year after The Prank Panel debuted on ABC, star Johnny Knoxville is getting a shock that some jokes are just not so funny.
Not funny, and potentially quite expensive, to be clear.
The Jackass vet (real name Philip John Clap), ABC Signature Studios, ITV America, Jimmy Kimmel’s Kimmelot shingle and others involved with the unscripted comedy series Prank Panel have been zapped with a $3 million negligence and battery lawsuit (read it here) from self-described “segment producer and creative consultant” Daniel Curry.
Seeking a jury trial, Dumb Ideas co-author Curry’s May 16 filing from Martorell Law in LA Superior Court lays out the taser attack the ex-segment producer says he was subjected to back in September 2022 on the Prank Panel set at Saticoy Studios in Van Nuys, CA. The 28-page document also specifically details the “compensatory and general damages in the amount of $950,000; For special and incidental...

Now that the upfronts are over, it’s time to hand out much-deserved accolades to those who made this year’s presentations truly unforgettable.
Just remember, everyone’s a winner here. But these folks made the week extra special in New York.
Most Ominous Overture: Kelly Clarkson kicking off a week of upfronts that used to be the sole proprietorship of broadcast networks with tunes like “Whatever Makes You Stronger” and “Since U Been Gone.”
Best Dressed Code Breakers: Men like Bob Iger, Casey Bloys, Mike Hopkins and Rob Wade for appearing without ties. Nothing says we are hemorrhaging money more than a nude neck.
Earworm Award: Beyoncé’s Texas Hold ‘Em and Miley Cyrus’ Flowers that were played on a loop.
Best Joke of the Week: “NBC is launching the new adventure Destination X,” said Seth Meyers at the NBCU upfront. “It was originally titled the Linda Yaccarino story.

Just when the Jimmys thought they were finally free of having to compete against John Oliver at the Emmys, another John has popped up in his place—John Mulaney.
Mulaney’s six-episode Netflix series Everybody’s in L.A. has been moved into the Outstanding Talk Series category. This means that, if nominated, Mulaney’s weird little show will face off against The Daily Show, Late Night, The Late Show, and The Tonight Show.
The last-minute change came about as a result of the Television Academy. Netflix had reportedly planned to submit the series for consideration in the Outstanding Scripted Variety Series category, which would see it go head-to-head with Saturday Night Live and Last Week Tonight. But, as Variety reports, “Netflix and the creative team felt the show was better suited for the talk series category and, as a result, will now compete against late-night hosts such as Jimmy Kimmel,...

Everyone’s in the Emmy race, but Netflix and the Television Academy feel John Mulaney is better suited for a different category than intended — and that may only benefit his awards run.
Netflix’s live smash “John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in L.A,.” featuring the Emmy-winning stand-up comedian celebrating the quirks and unique personality of his beloved city, was massively popular on the platform. The streaming giant had planned to submit the show into the scripted variety category, where it would compete against the long-running “Saturday Night Live” and “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.” However, Variety has learned exclusively that Netflix and the creative team felt the show was better suited for the talk series category and, as a result, will now compete against late-night hosts such as Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, and Jimmy Fallon.

‘The Acolyte’ is an upcoming TV series within the expansive Star Wars universe, crafted by Leslye Headland. Positioned at the conclusion of the High Republic era, predating the events of the core Star Wars films, the show features Amandla Stenberg and Lee Jung-jae in pivotal roles. Headland’s fascination with the Star Wars saga sparked in 2019, leading to the series’ development under Lucasfilm starting in April 2020.
Announced in December, filming unfolded from October 2022 to June 2023. With its premiere slated for June 4, 2024, on Disney+, anticipation mounts as we approach the release date. However, early reactions on social media are decidedly mixed.
Some of the creator’s statements, as well as what has been revealed through trailers, clips, and set photos, haven’t exactly ignited enthusiasm among fans for the show. With three seasons airing per calendar year, seasons 21-23, totaling 36 episodes, all fall within the Emmy eligibility window from June 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024. Joan Vassos has been chosen to be The Golden Bachelorette and her season will come with some differences from past Bachelor shows. Usually, Bachelor or Bachelorette airs on Mondays. Gerry Turner’s The Golden Bachelor aired on Thursdays, and Joan Vassos’ Golden Bachelorette will air on Wednesdays on ABC. That’s just one difference for the new show. Read on to find out more.
The Golden Bachelorette Gets 90-Minute Episodes
The Golden Bachelor episodes lasted one hour, but for Joan Vassos, the episodes will air for 90 minutes. Of course, one big difference is the age of the contestants. Joan Vassos is 61 years old and will be looking to date men more her age.
Joan Vassos self-eliminated – Golden Bachelor – ABC
It’s not unusual for Bachelor Nation to cast a previous contestant from another show. For example, Bachelor leads often come from The Bachelorette. Once again, that is true with Joan Vassos.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were one of the most discussed celebrity couples. The duo got married in 2014 and share four children; North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm West. The couple later hit a rough patch and eventually divorced in 2022. But Kardashian’s romantic gesture for West once got her a lucrative surprise.

Ye’s surprise came after Kardashian rejected an ad that impressed her then-husband. Fairly enough, Kiki could have said yes to the brand but she was far from going against the wind where Yeezy would be hurt as it was her then-husband’s rival brand.

Upfront week’s reliance on films isn’t actually new but it is increasingly bizarre, as evidenced by the top of Wednesday morning’s Warner Bros. Discovery presentation kicking off with sizzle that prioritized features Furiosa, Dune: Part Two and Wonka — when new episodes of the HBO and Max’s flagship Game of Thrones spinoff, House of the Dragon, are just weeks away.

The Disney-acquired Star Wars live-action lore is unarguably really trying to tighten its grip around the fandom. However, that doesn’t seem to be working, considering fans’ reaction to its latest and upcoming series, with very few series and fans as an exception. Even The Acolyte, which is the next series lined up for release this year from the saga, is ceasing to amuse fans.
The Acolyte.
This stands true because, even before its final release, this soon-to-hit-streaming series has gained massive criticism from fans because of all the changes it will be bringing to the previously massively fan-favorite lore. What’s worse is that this criticism doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon, considering how Jimmy Kimmel recently added even more misery to this project with his roasting.

At least some things in television don’t change.
Jimmy Kimmel still chews up the business like the late, great Hannibal Lecter, a wonderful man as I’ve heard somewhere recently. On Tuesday Kimmel had the broadcast/cable/streaming business for dinner—or a late-afternoon snack—with a nice Chianti.
After an unplanned two-year absence due to a case of Covid and the writers’ strike, Kimmel, who is now the signature star of ABC, thanks to running the late-night anchor leg for 21 years (and recently killing it as host of the Oscars), was back at the Disney Upfront presentation Tuesday, slinging his familiar barbs at both his employers and everybody else’s.
“We are bundling,” he said, talking of what’s happening at Disney+ and all the other big streamers. “While from the outside, this may look like an act of desperation, from the inside, it also looks like that.

If there were any lingering doubts that the Walt Disney Co. is now comfortable leaning into the edgier aspects of its increasingly aligned portfolio, they evaporated about 10 minutes into Tuesday’s upfront presentation when Ryan Reynolds promised that eventual Disney+ library member Deadpool & Wolverine would be a boon to advertisers targeting “testicular trauma” and “cocaine content.”
There was noticeably less cursing than during the week’s previous upfront events, at least until Jimmy Kimmel took the stage, but the embrace of Hard-r content was apparent from the pitch’s opening moments. Emma Stone, the Oscar-winning star of the Disney-produced Poor Things, was on hand to introduce Bob Iger — and, a month after he won his proxy fight with Nelson Peltz, voice her support for the recently embattled CEO.

Jimmy Kimmel is, without fail, the highlight of TV’s upfronts week every year; 2024 was no exception.
The “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host left no stone unturned in his annual profane and ruthless takedown of everything Disney (and everyone else in Hollywood) wants to sell to advertisers. This year that included the new Disney+ bundle with Hulu and Max, Netflix finally kissing the asses of said advertisers, the AMPTP, “The Golden Bachelor,” and finding a catchy new name for that sports-streaming service Disney is working on with Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery.
He started things off with a huge announcement: Bob Iger’s successor at Disney as CEO is… an artificially intelligent Bob Iger clone. AIger.
“Bob isn’t going anywhere ever again anywhere,” Kimmel said. “We uploaded him to the cloud so that we can live in peace and prosperity under the watchful AI of the Iger. All hail AIger!

That’s because last year Kimmel didn’t attend due to the Hollywood WGA strikes. And in 2022, he was in New York — but had to be beamed in to do his routine after testing positive for Covid. (The 2021 and 2020 upfronts were virtual because of the pandemic.)
“Two years ago, I couldn’t be here in person because I had Covid. And last year, I couldn’t be here because of the writer’s strike. And this year I couldn’t think of a third excuse,” Kimmel said. “I tried diarrhea on the plane, but I guess they get that all the time now.”

After a two-year absence from the upfront stage, Jimmy Kimmel was back Tuesday to take aim at Bob Iger, P Diddy, CBS and the new Golden Bachelorette.
Introduced by Kerry Washington — who he said was the “last decent lead-in I ever had” — Kimmel had fun with an artificial version of Bob Iger on screen and another version of the Golden Bachelor franchise called The Golden Retriever: Love is a Bitch.
Here’s his monologue:
“Let’s hear it for all the talented stars who were forced to come here today because of a clause in their contract their agents didn’t bother to read. I am glad you’re all inside. I heard Amazon left you guys out on the porch. You’re lucky you didn’t get stolen.”

Jimmy Kimmel rarely holds back during his annual monologue to Disney advertisers, but this year he was particularly brutal about the state of the business.
The ABC late-night host laid into CEO Bob Iger, the Golden Bachelor, streaming bundles, Star Wars, Elon Musk and many other topics.
Here were some of his best — and most cutting — jokes to the Madison Avenue audience:
— “Golden Bachelor is a key part of our strategy to steal CBS’ viewers by putting them in a house together. We’re now launching the Golden Bachelorette, a game show where you can win an old lady. Joan is our new Golden Bachelorette. She has four kids and two grandchildren. Are the grandkids ready to see grandma get raw-dogged in a jacuzzi?”

The theme of Disney’s 2024 upfront presentation to advertisers Tuesday was “connections” — and not just because of the running bit started by “Deadpool” star Ryan Reynolds and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star Rob McElhenney, which involved their constant replaying of a five-second ad spot that said “Connections!” with a Disneyified logo and voiceover.
No, the symbol of unity across Disney’s brands was made up of a slew of announcements from Marvel, and about such other high-wattage projects as “Star Wars,” “The Bear,” “Only Murders in the Building,” the “Wizards of Waverly Place” sequel series, “9-1-1,” Ryan Murphy’s new slate of FX titles and more franchises with intersecting talent.
Disney kicked off the event when Oscar-winning “Poor Things” star Emma Stone introduced the Mouse House’s big boss, Bob Iger — a job like that would traditionally go to a top ABC star. The use of film talent like...

Sheryl Lee Ralph and Lisa Ann Walter from Abbott Elementary got to call roll at the start of the Disney Upfront Tuesday, which allowed many of the stars from the studio’s movies and networks to sound off (in a video) before the presentation kicked off at the North Javits Center.
And what’s an ABC upfront without the voice of Walt Disney? Yup, he was (heard) there, too. Here’s what else happened at the afternoon shindig:
Emma Stone, whose Oscar acceptance speech for Poor Things was replayed during the opening montage, kicked off the event to remind everyone that the studio was founded more than 100 years ago. Her primary job, though? She was there to introduce Disney CEO Bob Iger. Disney CEO Bob Iger (Disney/Jennifer Pottheiser) Iger returned to the upfront stage, sans tie with his white shirt, for the first time in 30 years. He promised that...

There’s a new slate of Marvel shows coming to Disney+ soon.
During Disney’s Upfront presentation, Marvel Studios revealed that Agatha All Along will be flying onto the streamer on September 18. Two episodes will be available at launch, with episodes becoming available weekly thereafter.
Meanwhile, audiences can expect Daredevil: Born Again in March 2025. Ironheart is also coming in 2025, though the studio didn’t say when, exactly, to expect that series.
Kathryn Hahn is reprising her role of Agatha Harkness for the upcoming Wandavision spinoff, which Disney+ has already teased. With the Blu-Ray release of WandaVision, Marvel Studios snuck a little preview of the spinoff where Hahn and creators spoke about the making of the series, claiming there’s been “nothing more delicious.”
