"I didn't film that!" Another webcam horror! (Yet) Another Distribution Company (that's their name) has released an official trailer for an indie horror film called Untitled Horror Movie - yep, that's the real title for this, too. Also can be abbreviated as Uhm. A supernatural comedy about making a horror movie. When six actors learn their TV show is about to be canceled, they decide to make their own film, unintentionally summoning a spirit with an affinity for violence. Untitled Horror Movie is another follow-up in the make-a-horror-film-over-Zoom craze (see: Host), at first mocking it, then becoming seriously scary as well. Or so it seems. The big ensemble cast features: Luke Baines, Darren Barnet, Tim Granaderos, Claire Holt, Katherine McNamara, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Kal Penn, Aisha Tyler, Kevin Daniels, Lesly Kahn and Sohm Kapila. It looks much funnier than it does scary, for better or worse. Check it out below. Here's...

Famed acting coach Lesly Kahn, who was caught on tape urging one of her students to pretend to be Latina in order to have a better chance of landing roles, has agreed to establish a scholarship for Hispanic actors.
Kahn already has apologized for making the remarks, saying, “I deeply regret the offense my words have caused.” On the tape, she can be heard recommending that one of her non-Hispanic students change her name to Rosa Ramirez and get headshots that further advance the ethnic deception.
Leaders of the National Hispanic Media Coalition and the National Latino Media Council say they accept her apology and are giving her high marks for agreeing to take action to make amends. “We’ve now met three times with Lesly Kahn,” Nhmc president Alex Nogales said, “and she has expressed deep remorse for her words and has volunteered to create a substantive scholarship actor...

Why do I still take classes? Why do I keep paying for coaches and workshop scenes and read books on every type of development? I’m on the hit Showtime show “House of Lies” opposite Don Cheadle, so in an abstract sense doesn’t that constitute “making it”? Depends what you’re in it for, I’d say. When I arrived in L.A. seven years ago I started from the bottom. I took classes I found in magazine ads or because of suggestions from the mouths of those I barely knew. Then I found Lesly Kahn, known for her work in the sitcom realm. I thought for sure this would never stick. I just knew I wasn’t the type of actor who would book the kind of things she taught. Turns out I studied with her for three years, and now I’m a series regular on a comedy,...

Before someone gets a $200 million budget and a time frame of two or three years to make a big-studio feature film, they make a lot of little ones — usually spending their own money, just trying to get noticed.
Here’s the story of a group of budding filmmakers who put together a clever short in two days for about a million times less than the aforementioned price. They also did it in practically no time at all. First, check out the short below:

It's a marriage made in TV heaven. Army Wives actress Sally Pressman married her longtime love, Cougar Town actor David Rogers, Saturday evening overlooking the Pacific Ocean at the Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara, Calif. The bride's jewelry was by Gilan, which she Tweeted recently is "a family owned company from Turkey. I am so so fortunate and grateful." And Pressman didn't leave her wedding-day figure to chance. The actress worked hard with trainer-to-the-stars Tracy Anderson to prepare for the big event, and Tweeted recently that for every day, a top priority was: "Gotta get the workout in!" Planning the wedding,...

Here's an example of a typical day; it's 12:36 a.m., I get home from rehearsal and crash in bed. And in six hours I have to get up, sit on my couch, work on a script, and head to another rehearsal for another three hours. This is what I have been doing everyday, where I have consistently been everyday, every morning, afternoon, and/or evening for the past two months. No, I'm not doing another play. No, I didn't book a series regular or the next hit sit-com (yet). No, I didn't book the lead in a major motion picture (yet).I've been in rehearsals because rehearsing is something actors need to do regardless of whether or not they are in any of the above. It's our gym.I've also been in rehearsals because I've been taking Lesly Kahn's acting/comedy intensive at Lesly Kahn & Company Actor Training in Los Angeles.

Veronika DashNew York; ‘Cadillac Records,’ ‘Rescue Me’Many of the acting teachers I choose to work with I find through word-of-mouth suggestions from my fellow actors. If someone recommends a teacher they liked, I’ll research him or her online and ask if I can audit the class before committing to it. I usually know whether or not he or she is right for me within the first 15 minutes. Does the teacher bring something new to the table? Will he or she give me personal attention? And most importantly, can the teacher inspire me to be better? The teachers I learn the most from are the ones who challenge me and aren’t afraid to criticize my work, even when I think I’ve mastered it. They constantly offer new pearls of wisdom, such as "Don’t go bigger; go deeper" or "Never call cut on your performance" or "Trust your inner genius.
