Criminal: John Hawkes, Pat Healy, & more join Charlie Hunnam in Prime Video’s Ed Brubaker adaptation
John Hawkes has been one of my favorite character actors since he first came to my attention back in the ’90s with roles in films like Roadracers, Night of the Scarecrow, From Dusk Till Dawn, and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, so it’s cool to hear (from Deadline) that he’s going directly from a multi-episode role in the latest season of True Detective to landing a recurring role in the Prime Video series adaptation of Criminal, the Eisner Award-winning graphic novel series written by Ed Brubaker and illustrated by Sean Phillips. Hawkes, along with Pat Healy (Better Call Saul), Taylor Selé (Bmf), and Logan Browning (Dear White People), join previously announced cast members Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy), Adria Arjona (Hit Man), Richard Jenkins (The Shape of Water), and Kadeem Hardison (A Different World).

The History Of The Feud Between Priscilla Presley And Riley Keough

The Nathan Fillion-led police drama remains one of ABC's bonafide hits.
An underwhelming season finale with a questionable cliffhanger doesn't preclude the series from being one of the best on the network.
Frankly, we can patiently wait for the writers and company to cook up a mighty fine season.
Fortunately, we won't have to wait quite as long as we did during last year's strikes, but we'll have to wait long enough.

After originally ending back in 2022, a historical drama show Peaky Blinders is suddenly getting a revival, this time with Netflix at its helm. The streaming giant is now officially set to produce a separate movie that will continue the original show’s storyline with Cillian Murphy reprising his leading role as Thomas Shelby.
According to Variety reports, the future film will get Tom Harper as its director, with Harper having previously helmed several episodes for Peaky Blinders’ first season. Upon Netflix’s announcement about the movie’s production, Harper revealed that the entire crew of the original show had no clue that it would eventually turn into something so culturally important.

By order of Netflix, Steven Knight's long-awaited Peaky Blinders movie is officially happening! Yes, three years since we first learned of showrunner Knight's plans to bring the Brum-set mob drama to the big screen – and two years since Series 6's epic finale saw Tommy Shelby riding off into the sunset – Deadline has confirmed that the series' feature-length follow-up has been greenlit at Netflix. And as if that ain't cause enough for celebration, Cillian Murphy will be back as Tommy Shelby for the film, with Blinders alum Tom Harper (Wild Rose) set to direct and Knight handling the script.

Peaky Blinders caught the imagination by swerving the unexpected. Creator Steven Knight put the whole thing on a tilt from the start by not setting his gangster drama in London, but in (then) unfashionable Birmingham. He made family leader Tommy Shelby not the eldest but the middle brother. He mad Helen McCrory’s indelible Polly Gray not Tommy’s mother but his aunt. His working class characters weren’t to be pitied, but feared and respected… Nothing, from the contemporary rock music to the interweaving of Romany culture, was quite what period audiences had come to expect.
Knight’s slanted take on historical drama was exemplified at the climax of the Peaky Blinders series one finale, directed by Tom Harper. Now, over a decade later, Harper is coming back to direct the long-discussed Peaky Blinders movie, which starts filming in September 2024 in the West Midlands, after being officially commissioned by...

It’s been nearly two years since “Industry” last aired, but the Season 3 premiere wastes no time getting the hot young bankers of London’s high finance world back into trouble. On Friday night in Austin, TX, HBO presented the first episode in its entirety at the Atx Television Festival, and the nearly full theater was whipped into a frenzy by the time the credits rolled. Multiple gasps were heard throughout the hourlong screening — the causes of which will not be spoiled here — and, especially lucky for the fans in the theater, co-creators Konrad Kay and Mickey Down were on-hand for post-show Q&a to help talk through select scenes and prepare viewers for what’s coming up next.
“We do want it to be super intense,” Kay said from the stage.
“Episode 2 is just intense, intense, intense, intense,” Down said. “Episode 3 they go to Switzerland [and take a little break], and then it’s just incredibly intense again.

Amazon has found its criminal.
Charlie Hunnam has been tapped to star in Amazon’s adaptation of Ed Brubaker’s comic series Criminal.
Picked up to series in January after nearly a year in development, Criminal is described as an interlocking universe of crime stories based on the multiple Eisner Award-winning graphic novel series created by Brubaker (Westworld, Batman: Caped Crusader) and Sean Phillips.
Hunnam will play Leo, aka Coward, a brilliant master thief who sees all the angles, and specializes in plans with no guns and no violence. Like a chess player, Leo thinks three moves ahead. Other crooks think he’s a coward, especially compared to his father Tommy, who went to jail for murdering the most feared man in the city, Teeg Lawless.
Hunnam joins a cast that also includes Richard Jenkins, Adria Arjona and Kadeem Hardison.

There must have been a time when we all thought that the “Viva Forever” singer Victoria Beckham has an inbuilt poise and confidence in her but it may surprise you to know that there was a time when she struggled with her confidence. One of those times was around the 90s after giving birth to her first child Brooklyn Beckham.
In a recent interview with “Grazia,” the mom of four shared how a newspaper story that commented on her post-baby body affected her so much that she found it difficult to sit at the beach and watch her children play. “I’ve had so much said about me and I’m sure that has robbed me of some experiences,” said Victoria in the May 28 interview.
She continued, “I never want to look like I’m complaining, but there were times in the past that I haven’t felt confident enough...

When Aubrey Plaza first got the call about her role in Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis, she’d literally just stocked up on Godfather-themed keychains and lighters from an actual Godfather gift shop. It should be noted she was not obsessively combing eBay for insane fan memorabilia. In fact, there was a legitimate reason for her purchases: she just happened to be in Taormina, Sicily — the home of The Godfather, if you will — where it was partly shot. And of course there’s a gift shop.
Plaza was, at the time, taking her turn as the maritally-challenged Harper in the second season of the HBO hit series The White Lotus — a role for which she was individually Emmy and Golden Globe nominated. And, when she heard that Coppola wanted to get on Zoom with her, she was also staying in the San Domenico hotel, his old home-from-home during The Godfather shoot.

The arid landscape of the fictional Australian town Kiewarra lends the 2020 mystery thriller “The Dry” its name and identity. It’s the type of place filled with interpersonal tension, which frequently reflects onto a barren, sun-scorched environment itching to go up in flames.
When federal agent Aaron Falk (Eric Bana) returns to his hometown to look into the double murder-suicide supposedly perpetrated by his childhood best friend, he’s thrust back into the town’s powder-keg energy. Adapted from Jane Harper’s procedural mystery novel by the same name, “The Dry” marinates in buried backcountry secrets and childhood trauma, both of which unfortunately never transcend their generic function or presentation on screen.
Four years later, the awkwardly titled sequel...
