- She started out her career as a singer. A coloratura soprano, trained as an opera singer and attended the Juilliard School in New York City. A teenage protégé of Leonard Bernstein, she was chosen by him to sing as the principal female soloist in concert at Lincoln Center where he conducted her singing his work "Glitter and Be Gay" from Candide.
- She sings the song 'Si, Señor' on the soundtrack for the (1995) film Mouth To Mouth aka Boca A Boca . Which was composed by Goya winner Bernardo Bonezzi. Hanley and Bonezzi became close friends during the film. He died from an apparent suicide in 2012. In a 2017 song and video 'Fade to Black; she pays tribute to him.
- She was the Bacardi girl in Germany and other parts of Europe in the mid-late 90s.
- Hanley is vegan and active in animal rescue/adoption related issues.
- Co starred along side Toby Jones in a comic international NCR commercial.
- Tres was the first American born actress to play Polly Peachum in a London production of the The Beggar's Opera according to the musicals director Peter Benedict. The 1993 Oracle production was performed as part of London's West End summer theatre in the parks at Holland, Regents and Wimbledon Cannazaro Parks.

- She is also known as Très Hanley-Millman since her 2003 marriage to New Your City architect, theatrical producer, and entrepreneur Paul Millman.
- She was originally cast in Eyes Wide Shut as the coffee shop manager. The four page scene with Tom Cruise endured daily rewrites. After a month of filming and constant script changes the decision to drop the scene was made.
