With Titans being the first big original series released on the DC Universe streaming service, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to learn that the show would get renewed for a second season. There’s a whole DC universe that is going to spawn from this show, which also includes Doom Patrol.
I imagine that Titans will have a long life as long as subscribers tune in to watch, and according to early reactions from the premiere of the first two episodes of Season 1, it sounds like it’s a solid series worth watching! Fans seem to be loving it! Here’s what people are saying on social media:
First two episodes of #Titans just got a very warm reception at #Nycc. I will have in depth (but spoiler free!) thoughts on @DenofGeekUS tomorrow!

If you’re going to be committing a crime and decide to dress in a disguise, I suppose it makes sense to dress as your favorite villain from a movie? Then again, this just isn’t a good look, period. According to the AP: Police in Virginia have arrested a man who was dressed as comic book villain the Joker and reportedly carrying a sword. Winchester Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Hall said in a news release that the department got several 911 calls Friday afternoon reporting a man made up as Batman’s nemesis. He was wearing a cape and carrying a sword.

This week we closed the book on season one of Up All Night by revisiting the night Chris and Reagan agreed to get hitched.
This pivotal moment in their history together did not occur like one would have thought, though, as we learned it was Reagan who popped the question on Chris. Oh, yes, "The Proposals" was full of surprises, including the return of Kevin (Jason Lee).
While Ava had Chris and Kevin jumping through hoops for her, Julian was my choice for best in show tonight. From changing all the radio presets in her car to 94.7 The Wave, to later convincing Kevin to propose to her, he showed that despite all his sexual advances and innuendo he really cares for her. Speaking of which, his line about his pocket Pinoccio telling a little lie while checking out the old lady at the pool had me bursting at the seems with laughter.

NBC's new comedy, Up All Night, may not be a big success but it's one of the best performing shows on the network right now. It's not a big shock that they want some more.
Starring Will Arnett, Christina Applegate, Maya Rudolph, and Jennifer Hall, Up All Night has been averaging a 2.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.63 million total viewers. It currently ranks as NBC's second-highest rated show of the season.
Up All Night received a full season order last month, along with fellow newbie Whitney. Now, the peacock network has increased the sitcom's season order by two episodes, bringing the total to 24.
It would certainly be difficult to classify the show as a hit but it may be one of NBC's best chances to build one. NBC's had dismal luck with new shows this season with...

"Up All Night" and "Suburgatory" were two of the better-reviewed new comedies at the start of this season. They've been drawing pretty consistent ratings so far, which suggests that the people who watch both shows are, for the most part, sticking around.
I'm one of those people. It's my job to watch TV, but these are two shows I'd likely be watching anyway. For the most part, they've delivered at least one big laugh per episode (along with several good medium-sized ones). "Suburgatory's" Jane Levy is one of the real finds of the season, and pros Christina Applegate and Will Arnett have pretty excellent chemistry as new parents on "Up All Night."
Now here comes the "but": Both shows, which are about a third of the way through their first seasons ("Up All Night" has aired nine episodes, "Suburgatory" seven) are still having trouble deciding whether they want...

Jennifer Hall stars on Up All Night as Missy, the woman stuck with the thankless, albeit hilarious, job of assisting Maya Rudolph's Ava.

Talk about Will Arnett and Christina Applegate. Are they anything like their characters in real life?
In real life, Will and Christina are as extraordinarily attractive as they are on TV. They both also have ridiculously good memories and can memorize things super fast. I don't know how that helps them with their real life parenting, but I'm sure it's very useful as actors.
Can you relate, from prior work experience, to anything Missy goes through with Ava?

Nick Cannon has a message for America: I've got talent, too!
The reality show host has booked a role on NBC's Up All Night, which stars Christina Applegate and Will Arnett as a couple dealing with the arrival of a newborn. He'll portray Calvin, the on-air co-worker of Maya Rudolph's Ava, who grows quite jealous of the attention received by... someone who isn't her.
Cannon will continue to Mc America's Got Talent, whose September 14 finale will actually lead into the premiere of Up All Night.
Jennifer Hall will also appear on the new sitcom as Ava's assistant, Missy.

Nick Cannon and Jennifer Hall have landed roles in NBC's new comedy Up All Night. The show stars Christina Applegate and Will Arnett as Reagan and Chris, a couple who are getting used to their new life as parents. NBC's president Robert Greenblatt recently revealed that the show has been altered slightly to give co-star Maya Rudolph a larger role. Rudolph plays Reagan's colleague Ava, who was originally due to work in a public relations office but will now be a talkshow host. Following the changes, Cannon has been cast in a recurring role as Ava's co-host Calvin, TV Guide reports. The character is thought to be extremely popular with viewers and (more)...

It's never too late, or too early, for some TV snacks.
Nick Cannon will pull double duty on NBC this year. In addition to hosting "America's Got Talent," Cannon has landed a recurring part on the network's new comedy "Up All Night." He'll play the well-liked sidekick on a talk show hosted by Maya Rudolph's character. Jennifer Hall has also taken a recurring part as Rudolph's assistant. [TV Guide]
HBO and "Mildred Pierce" director/co-writer Todd Haynes are joining forces again for a drama series project called "Dope" -- and are hoping to land Julianne Moore as its lead. The project is based on Sara Gran's novel, which is set in 1950 and centers on a recovering heroin addict who becomes a New York private detective. Haynes and Moore previously worked together on "Safe" and "Far From Heaven." [Deadline]
"Smallville" veteran Cassidy Freeman will have a recurring part on "The Playboy Club" in the fall.

Nick Cannon is strutting his stuff all over the Peacock: The America’s Got Talent host has now signed on as a recurring cast member of the new NBC comedy Up All Night, the network confirmed today. (TV Guide first reported the news.) Cannon will play Calvin, a spirited talk show emcee whose popularity irks co-host Ava (Maya Rudolph). In addition, Jennifer Hall (Nip/Tuck, CSI: Miami) will recur as Missy, Ava’s unconfident assistant. Up All Night, which debuts Sept. 14, also stars Christina Applegate and Will Arnett as new parents, with Applegate’s character, Reagan, serving as Ava’s producer.

Director Bill Haney’s trenchant, impassioned documentary “The Last Mountain” chronicles a David and Goliath-like confrontation in Appalachia’s Coal River Valley precipitated by the 2000 election of President Bush. Since then, Coal River Valley has been ground zero in the battle between ordinary West Virginia citizens and the rapacious ploys of Massey Energy, the nation’s third-largest coal-mining corporation.
The documentary examines how, after the Bush administration altered the wording in the Clean Water Act, Massey Energy proceeded with a campaign to dynamite and raze the ecologically fragile Appalachian ranges for the extraction of coal. Over the ensuing decade, the company racked up 60,000 health and environmental violations.

In West Virginia, the victor in the fight against mountain-top mining will decide the fate of much more than mountain tops. It will determine the safety of well water across the country, the health of a slew of West Virginian school children and the length of man’s time here on Earth. Big issues to tackle in less than two hours, but director Bill Haney‘s determined to make his case.
The “last mountain” in question is the Coal River Mountain, the final range not topped-off by corporate machinery in the region of Appalachia. Featuring devastating aerials of these stripped mountain tops and intense, personal interviews with locals whose lives have changed due to the artificially-altered flow of water, The Last Mountain believes in the revolutionary spirit of its audience.

There are plenty of discussions these days about the flood of remakes on the market, but very few movies present a better argument against the reboot/remake craze than I Spit On Your Grave. The original, which was also known as Day of the Woman, was of a very particular era and genre; I Spit On Your Grave was a subset of the '70s exploitation flicks that populated the grindhouses of New York City or drive-ins looking to make ends meet, the rape/revenge genre.
What's shown in the trailer for the original I Spit On Your Grave, which you can see here, is an interesting contrast to the new trailer. In both stories, writer Jennifer Hall (Camille Keaton, Buster's granddaughter) comes to the country to work on her book but instead finds herself raped brutally and repeatedly by a group of local men.
