USA Today has unveiled three new photos from Rawson Marshall Thurber's action comedy "Central Intelligence" which opens June 17th. Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart team-up from the project as former classmates who reunite at their 20-year high school reunion - the once fat and nerdy Johnson is now a deadly CIA agent who has been framed and has to enlist the help of the once popular turned mild-mannered accountant Hart.
"Star Trek Beyond" co-scribe Doug Jung has been hired to pen a re-write of the modestly-budgeted, Julius Onah-directed, sci-fi thriller "God Particle" which J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk will produce. Oren Uziel wrote the original screenplay which follows an American space station crew who, believing they have destroyed Earth via a Hadron accelerator, allow the crew of hostile nations to board their ship with disastrous results... full details

Surely, there’s no way a simple interview request could result in an investigation by the Independent Commission Against Corruption? Think again. Filmmaker James Ricketson says “in the Alice in Wonderland meets Kafka Comedy of Errors that is the Nsw government, such things are not only possible but par for the course!”
This is his story…
“If you have any evidence of corruption you should bring the material to the Icac’s attention,” writes the bureaucrat. “Icac has been established specifically to deal with allegations of corruption involving public authorities or public officials.”
This helpful advice from the office of the Director General of Industry and Investment Nsw is but the latest chapter in the ongoing saga of my attempt to conduct an interview with Ashley Luke about Screen Nsw’s Aurora initiative. This has been going on since Feb this year – an earlier chapter in this story can be found here.

Nobody ever said getting an indie comic book to the big screen was easy. Unlike established franchises, creator-owned books tend to jump through more than a few hoops and can often see numerous options before realizing their cinematic potential.
Case in point: B. Clay Moore (”Billy Smoke“) and Steve Griffin’s supernatural detective tale, “Hawaiian Dick.” Published by Image Comics, the tropical ’50s noir property was picked up by New Line Cinema in 2004 and renewed again in 2006 with director Frank Coraci (”Click”) attached to direct. The option has since lapsed, but according to Moore, it’s not the end of the story.
“The option on ‘Hawaiian Dick’ expired (after being renewed) with New Line, so technically it’s an available property,” Moore told MTV News. “Having said that, there’s some work being done behind the scenes to move it forward as a feature film. We’ll see where it goes,...
