- [on her unusual name] There was a lot of pressure from agents, publicists and even Gene Shalit on The Today (1952) Show asked why I keep it, but I want my family to be proud of me. And I find that once people hear the name, they don't soon forget it
- [on Billy Crystal] He and Gregory Hines and I had the best time. We were just like 'the group.' Billy is hysterically funny, because he doesn't throw it at you. Some comedians feel like they can't turn off. He was just a regular guy. One time on the set, we had this explosion of a birthday cake. They didn't expect the explosives were going to make such a mess. He flew over the bar, and started telling jokes - reading Christmas cards. It was so funny, the cast and crew couldn't stop laughing and they had to leave the set.
- It is tough to get people in the acting world to take you seriously if you've been a successful model. Some models turn out to be good actresses; most are terrible.
- [on Robert De Niro] I loved working with Bobby. He's easy to work with. He's so 'there.' To see him acting right there with you, it's really fun. We had lots of good times on the set. When I first got the part, I tried out with another actor who filled in for his role. Afterward, Bobby came up to me, 'I'm sorry I didn't do that with you.' He was very respectful.
- [why she kept her acting ambitions to herself] In Binghamton, they think that an actress is the same as a hooker.
- [on Gary Busey] We like each other a lot. We're buds, but when the film is over, he's right off to another things - and I'm off in a different direction. He's very busy. That's his style.
- [on Sylvester Stallone] Even when I speak to seniors citizens at care centers, the women always say, 'Oh, you kissed Sylvester!' I always think, 'Oh, it's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it.' Sly is a great guy, and he's got a good sense of humor.
- [on Kirk Douglas] He's the ultimate gentleman. He treats everybody so well, including the husbands of actresses he works with. A lot of actors are very intense, and kind of standoffish in a way. That doesn't happen with Kirk. He invited us to a party at his house. He put his arms around both of us, and showed us around the place.
- [on Jimmy Smits] There are no airs about him. He's just a regular guy, kind and nice. And I love that. He's not a phony in the least. There's not a phony bone in is body.
- [on Willem Dafoe] He's got a very exotic look. He looks cool, but he has an intensity about him that can go either way. He can be really frightening while acting. But he's easygoing - got a quick smile, and a quick laugh.
- [on Faye Dunaway] She was going through a marriage breakup. She was a diva. People thought I was her. That created a problem. I admire Faye - but it wasn't easy. Faye wouldn't interact.
- When you feel trusted as an actor, you can fly. It gives you absolutely magnificent wings, because you know you can try something and you're not going to be made fun of.
