Carrie Fisher is being honored posthumously with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and her daughter and costar both paid their respects to the late legend at the event. Fisher received the star on May 4, also known as Star Wars Day, and her daughter, Billie Lourd, and costar Mark Hamill both honored her with speeches and posed alongside Star Wars mainstays C-3Po and R2-D2.
Hamill kicked off the ceremony by sharing his love for his onscreen sibling, who died in 2016. "I'll never stop missing you, but I'm so thankful we had her as long as we did," he said. "I'm grateful for the laughter, the wisdom, the kindness, and even the bratty self-indulgent crap my beloved space twin drove me crazy with through the years. So thank you, Carrie, I love you."

Billie Lourd is gearing up to celebrate her late mom, Carrie Fisher, on May 4 as the latter receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Carrie died on Dec. 27, 2016, at age 60, and one day later, her mother (Lourd's grandmother), Debbie Reynolds, died at age 84. Ahead of Carrie's big day, Lourd revealed why her mother's siblings - Todd, Joely, and Tricia Leigh Fisher - aren't invited to the ceremony.
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter on May 3, Lourd said the trio are not invited and "they know why." She said in part, "Days after my mom died, her brother and her sister chose to process their grief publicly and capitalize on my mother's death, by doing multiple interviews and selling individual books for a lot of money, with my mom and my grandmother's deaths as the subject."
Lourd continued, "I found out they had done this through the press.

Carrie Fisher’s brother, Todd, is speaking out in response to remarks made by his niece, Billie Lourd, on why he wasn’t invited to Carrie’s Walk of Fame ceremony.
Todd spoke with Et on Wednesday and addressed claims Lourd recently made in a statement given to The Hollywood Reporter in which she accused Todd of trying to “capitalize” on her death.
“I take issue with what she said on every level,” Todd told Et. “There was no money made on anything.”
Carrie died on Dec. 26, 2016 at 60 years old. The next day, the actress’ mother — and Lourd’s grandmother — the iconic performer Debbie Reynolds, also died at 84.
“I did one 20/20 interview, and I didn’t charge for that,” Todd shared. “I only did that because the pundits were making a big deal out of the fact that my mother died of a broken heart. And it was really annoying...

Billie Lourd has issued a statement confirming and explaining why she did not invite her late mother Carrie Fisher’s siblings — Todd, Joely and Tricia Leigh Fisher — to Carrie’s upcoming Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on Thursday, May 4 (U.S. Pacific Time), reports ‘Variety’.
Lourd’s statement, ‘Variety’ points out, came after Fisher’s siblings expressed shock over being left out of the ceremony, which is taking place on Star Wars Day to honour the actress who’s synonymous with the character of Princess Leia. Lourd called out her relatives for capitalising on Carrie’s death through interviews and book deals.
“I have seen the postings and press releases issued by my mother’s brother and sister,” Lourd said, according to ‘Variety’. “I apologise to anyone reading this for feeling the need to defend myself publicly from these family members. But unfortunately, because they publicly attacked me, I have to publicly respond.

On the eve of Carrie Fisher receiving a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the actress’ daughter, Billie Lourd, said in a statement that her mother’s siblings, Todd Fisher, Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher, were intentionally excluded from the ceremony because they profited off her mother’s death. Now, Todd Fisher is disputing those accusations.
In a statement provided to TheWrap, Todd Fisher said, “We made every attempt to speak with Billie’s team regarding the invitation prior to making any public comments. Keeping the focus on Carrie Fisher, let’s put our differences aside for the hour long ceremony and move on from there. I was told It was a no go and why would I want to heighten level of emotion for his niece, going further to say if I showed up, she would not.”

Billie Lourd has long preferred to keep her personal life as private as possible but the actress has taken the rare step of releasing a public statement to quiet family discord by offering her side of the story ahead of a special ceremony honoring her late mother Carrie Fisher.
In a statement received by The Hollywood Reporter, Lourd first apologizes to “anyone reading this for feeling the need to defend myself publicly” from the family members, adding that she’s only doing so after being “publicly attacked by them” via statements given to TMZ and posted on social media. She then confirms that she did not invite Fisher’s siblings Todd, Joely and Tricia Leigh Fisher to Thursday’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony and “they know why.”

A wave of pure VHS-era nostalgia – with all the associated benefits and drawbacks – awaits in this 1989 sequel to the 1984 B-movie, which was itself a solidly silly monster movie with a great cast (John Heard, Daniel Stern, Kim Greist et al) and charmingly lousy special effects.
This time, the inner city setting is gone in favour of a typical Midwest small town, and the Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers are about to run amok at the teenagers’ Halloween Dance. Not that the CHUDs spend any time underground this time around. As the flimsy franchise leans hard into farce, any semblance of the original film’s social satire is forgotten in favour of smart-ass quips and fish-out-of-water comedy.

If you’ve been keeping any eye on the BBFC website this news won’t come as that much of a surprise… However, Lionsgate UK have officially announced today the launch of the Vestron Collectors Series line of Blu-rays here in the UK! Yes, no longer will you have to fork over £30-40 to import the well-received Vestron Blus, instead you can get them right here in Blighty. The catch? It looks, at least from this announcement, that we won’t be getting All the Vestron titles – after all, there’s no Waxwork 2 included on the UK Blu.

Eddie Fisher, the iconic pop singer, passed away Wednesday night at his home in Berkeley of complications from hip surgery, his daughter, Tricia Leigh Fisher of Los Angeles, told The Associated Press. He was 82.
"Late last evening the world lost a true America icon," Fisher's family said in a statement released by publicist British Reece. "One of the greatest voices of the century passed away. He was an extraordinary talent and a true mensch."
In the early 50s, Fisher sold millions of records with 32 hit songs including 'Thinking of You,' 'Any Time,' 'Oh, My Pa-pa,' 'I'm Yours,' and 'Wish You Were Here.' His fame was enhanced by his 1955 marriage to movie darling Debbie Reynolds -- they were touted as "America's favorite couple" -- and the birth of two children. Their daughter Carrie Fisher became a film star herself in the first...

Eddie Fisher passed away Wednesday night (Sept. 22) from complications from hip surgery, his daughter Tricia Leigh Fisher tells the Associated Press.
Fisher married Debbie Reynolds in 1955 and with her had two children, Carrie Fisher, most famous for playing Princess Leia in the "Star Wars" movies, and Todd. He left Reynolds and married Elizabeth Taylor in 1959 after comforting her upon the death of her husband Mike Todd, who was Fisher's best friend.
Taylor left Fisher in 1964 for Richard Burton and Fisher went on to marry Connie Stevens in 1967. They had two children, actress Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher.
Fisher's entire life was riddled with scandal and drug use. He famously wrote in his 1983 autobiography, "Eddie: My Life, My Loves," that Reynolds bullied him into marriage, that he spent most of his time with Taylor playing nursemaid and that he only married Stevens because she was pregnant.
