The Walking Dead started as a comic series by Robert Kirkman, artists Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard in 2003. Publishes primarily in black and white, the series ran for 193 issues before ending in 2019. AMC acquired the rights for the graphic novel from its creator in 2009, before spawning a full-fledged franchise of The Walking Dead.

Kirkman has also written the comic series for Invincible, which is currently busy producing the third season of its animated series on Amazon Prime. This is why there is speculation about his other comic series also someday getting an animated adaptation. The creator said that while he would love for The Walking Dead to get an animation, it can only happen under one circumstance.

Working on the science fiction series Dark Angel brought both Jensen Ackles and Jessica Alba their fair share of success, despite some ups and downs. Fox’s show, which starred Alba as super soldier Max Guevara escaping from government agents in a post-apocalyptic Seattle, was created by James Cameron and Charles H. Eglee and premiered in 2000.
During the second season, Ackles joined the show as Max’s fellow supersoldier, Alec McDowell (X5-494). The actors engaged in a lot of fighting during Dark Angel’s action sequences, but Ackles maintained that the tension between them was even greater off-screen.

The former Supernatural cast member revealed in 2022 how “horrible” his experience was while working on Dark Angel, saying that the Fantastic Four star “did not make it easy” for him on set.

The first season of the latest Walking Dead spinoff The Ones Who Live is concluding this weekend, but the latest profit participation lawsuit from zombie apocalypse creator Robert Kirkman, franchise executive producer Gale Anne Hurd and others is far from over.
With heavy emphasis on the $200 million settlement AMC suddenly made in 2021 to end ex-twd showrunner Frank Darabont and CAA’s nearly 10-year long lawsuit over profits, U.S. District Judge Fernando Aenlle-Rocha yesterday denied the outlet’s move to have Kirkman, Hurd, David Alpert, Charles Eglee and Glen Mazzara’s mega-millions case dismissed.
“It would be an illogical interpretation of the Mfn (most favored nations) provisions and contrary to the reasonable expectations of the parties in entering into the agreements if the court were to allow Defendants, as a matter of law, to provide Darabont and CAA with increased contingent compensation and a greater share of future gross receipts...

“The Walking Dead” debuted on AMC in 2010, instantly becoming a massive hit. For almost as long, the cable network has been fighting in court with the show’s creators over how much of the profits it has to share.
Much like the main show itself (which ended in 2022), the original lawsuit is over — but the spinoff litigation is still going strong.
On Monday, a federal judge denied AMC’s motion to throw out a suit brought by five of the show’s executive producers. The producers — Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, Glen Mazzara and Charles Eglee — allege that they were improperly denied their profit participation from the original show and from “Fear the Walking Dead,” the first of six “Walking Dead” spinoffs.
The producers first sued in 2017, several years after “Walking Dead” creator Frank Darabont brought his own profits lawsuit. Darabont, who was fired following the show’s first season,...

"The Walking Dead" ended in 2022, but it already has more spin-offs than you can shake a stick at. Following the release of "Fear The Walking Dead" and "The Walking Dead: Dead City," fans have been looking forward to "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon." The show will be set in Europe, following former redneck ne'er-do-well Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), the only principal actor returning from the original cast.
"The Walking Dead" originated as a comic book series created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore. The story follows an ever-dwindling group of survivors in a zombie apocalypse, moving from place to place in search of a safe refuge from the undead "walkers," and also the numerous human dangers they encounter along the way. It made for an often exhilarating (if often frustrating) series that could sometimes feel unfocused and patchy, but Reedus' laconic performance ensured he emerged as a fan favorite.

AMC wants the 200 million profits lawsuit from The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and fellow executive producers to be D.O.A.
“Having lost resoundingly in state court on different theories, Plaintiffs are at it again, now asking this Court to hand them a multimillion-dollar windfall through a new argument that finds no support in the plain language or purpose of the contractual provision (known as a ‘most favored nation’ or ‘Mfn’ clause) on which Plaintiffs rely,” the James Dolan-led company declares in a motion to dismiss memorandum filed late last week in federal court (read it here).
If you are confused, let’s be clear: This is not about the Twd profit participation action alleging sleight of hand that Kirkman, Hurd, David Alpert, Charles Eglee and ex-showrunner Glen Mazzara filed in 2017 against AMC. After being sliced and diced in a mini-trial in 2020, and then hacked...

Exclusive: After nearly six years, one mini-trial and with another trial set for next month, the profits participation battle between The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and fellow executive producers of the now concluded zombie apocalypse series and AMC has come to an end, kinda.
“The parties have agreed to resolve through confidential arbitration the remaining claims in this lawsuit that were scheduled for a February 2023 trial,” said reps for Kirkman, fellow Twd EPs and AMC to Deadline today after a motion to dismiss was filed in LA Superior Court Monday (read the short motion here).
Which is a succinct way of saying this isn’t over, but going away.

Linda Hamilton with a rocket launcher. A gloopy shape-changing robot. Arnold Schwarzenegger with a cool beard. The trailer for Terminator: Dark Fate was filled with elements designed to appeal to fans of the long-running, and often lackluster, sci-fi franchise. But none were as important as a simple block of text declaring, “Producer James Cameron Returns.”
While Cameron created the franchise with the stripped-down The Terminator in 1984, and then returned with the definitive action blockbuster Terminator 2: Judgment Day in 1991, he remained hands-off for everything that followed. And everything that followed failed to live up to the standard Cameron set. Sure, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles have their defenders, but no one would argue that either entry holds a candle to the first two movies.

Some fans were excited when they heard that Terminator franchise creator James Cameron was going to be involved with the making of a new Terminator sequel after being absent from a few previous entries in the franchise. But when Terminator: Dark Fate (watch it Here) arrived in theatres back in 2019, it wasn’t met with much enthusiasm. It turned out to be another box office failure, continuing Terminator‘s three film losing streak. Speaking with Deadline, Cameron said he feels the casting was at least partly to blame for the movie’s failure, saying that having Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton in the lead roles make it look like a movie for granddads.

Several producers of “The Walking Dead” have filed a new 200 million lawsuit against AMC Networks to recover profits from the hit series and its spinoffs.
In their most recent legal position in California Superior Court, the producers — Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, Charles Eglee and Glenn Mazzara — are claiming that AMC Networks’ 200 million settlement in 2021 with the show’s creator Frank Darabont and CAA, his agency, entitles them to similar treatment.
“Plaintiffs were forced to file this lawsuit as a result of AMC’s two faced treatment of their right to participate in the historic success of The Walking Dead,” their statement reads. “On the one hand AMC tells them they are entitled to nothing based on erroneous pre-trial rulings which are subject to appeal, while AMC paid 200 million to Frank Darabont and CAA to avoid a New York jury’s review of the exact same contingent compensation definition.

The Walking Dead series finale is coming this weekend, but the battles over the big bucks from the one-time blockbuster zombie apocalypse show are far from over.
With the frayed remnants of a 2017 profits participation lawsuit filed by Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, Charles Eglee and former Twd showrunner Glenn Mazzara still limping through the courts, the producers on November 14 hit AMC with a new breach of contract action for 200 million.
“Even though AMC exploited Plaintiffs’ ideas and services to make billions from The Walking Dead franchise, AMC issued a Magr definition that, in its original form, would not have paid out a single dollar in profit participation to Plaintiffs,” said the filing in Los Angeles Superior Court focusing on modified adjusted gross receipts and other alleged sleight of hands by AMC. “Unsurprisingly, AMC’s Magr definition has spurred a storm of disputes with the creative talent on...

The story of Orlando Jones’ dismissal from American Gods took another turn today when SAG-aftra announced that they’ll be looking into the circumstances around the actor’s departure. For those not in the know, Jones has publicly criticized American Gods for letting him go due to apparent differences over the racial politics of the show. Since then, various figures have added their comments, while producers Fremantle have denied that their decision was based on race. Jones is now considering suing the company though and his case could get more serious now that SAG-aftra are involved.

The last few days have seen Orlando Jones give extensive commentary on why he was fired from his role as Mr. Nancy on American Gods. In the most recent interview with the actor, he talked about his disappointment with how the show handled his departure, and how they made the case personal. One of the key elements to Jones’ criticism was how he clashed with the series’ producers over their representation of race, something that production company Fremantle have now come out to deny.
A spokesperson for Fremantle gave a statement to Deadline about the controversy, and made the argument that there were other reasons for why Jones lost his role on the show. The spokesperson commented on these circumstances as follows:
“The storylines of American Gods have continually shifted and evolved to reflect the complex mythology of the source material. Mr. Jones’ option was not picked up because Mr.

It’s been a difficult few weeks for Terminator: Dark Fate director Tim Miller, who’s seen the movie bomb at the box office, with the long-running franchise seemingly at risk of being retired. Miller’s recently been trying to explain some of the issues he faced with the picture though, which he’d intended to be a fresh take on the Terminator mythos, including problems with producer James Cameron over the finished product.
Now, however, the Deadpool director has pointed to a lack of female writers for the woman-centric movie as another reason for the film’s struggles. Although each had a varying role to play in the final product, Terminator: Dark Fate is credited to six different scribes: James Cameron, David Goyer, Justin Rhodes, Charles H. For decades, the Terminator franchise has opted to largely make Arnold Schwarzenegger its central aspect/selling point. However, since The Terminator and especially Terminator 2: Judgment Day, the series has had severely diminishing returns. So, changes were needed. Original creator James Cameron is back to help shepherd this latest sequel, which ignores everything after the first two outings, and so is Schwarzenegger. That’s not what makes this new version matter though…not in the least. What sets this one apart is the return of Linda Hamilton. Her re-entry into the series turns out to be the secret sauce. Cameron helps re-focus the mythology, but Hamilton is the heart and soul of Terminator. Opening this week, Terminator: Dark Fate understands this, making it the first fully successful sequel within this IP since T2. The film is an action blockbuster, picking up after the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, where...

It's an excitement we haven't felt in a long time because Cameron hasn't been involved with the creation of the previous movies. Now that the man who created the Terminator is back in the saddle fans are expecting great things.
James Cameron is developing the film alongside Deadpool director Tim Miller and they are developing a plan to continue the story that ended with Terminator 2. During a recent interview, Schwarzenegger talked about the next Terminator film with Business Insider, saying:

During a recent interview, Schwarzenegger talked about the next Terminator film with Business Insider, saying:
"I think [James] Cameron and Tim [Miller] came up with a concept where they can continue on with the T-800 but make a whole new movie.

Paramount Pictures has announced that producer James Cameron and director Tim Miller's new Terminator film will be released on July 26th, 2019!
I know the last three Terminator films haven't turned out to be as good as fans hoped, but this next one actually has a good shot of being the Terminator sequel fans have been waiting for. That's mostly because of the involvement of Cameron, who seems to be working with a great team of talent.
On top of bringing the director of Deadpool on board, he's also brought in David Goyer (Batman Begins), Charles Eglee (Dark Angel) and Josh Friedman (Avatar sequels, The Sarah Connor Chronicles) as his writing staff. Then, of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton will reprise their roles!
The upcoming film will be a direct sequel to Terminator 2 and will ignore all of the other films that have been made since. Cameron previously said...

We now know when the Terminator franchise will be back, as Paramount Pictures has slated the sixth film in the sci-fi action franchise for a July 26th, 2019 release.
News of Paramount Pictures' 2019 release date announcement comes from multiple sources, including Variety. Cameron recently revealed at a private Terminator celebration that Hamilton is set to return alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger (who played the beloved T-800 in three Terminator films and a T-850 in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) in the new Terminator movie, which is set to be directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool) from a story idea by Cameron, who directed 1984's The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Some interesting new details have surfaced regarding the plans for Arnold Schwarzenegger's character in the upcoming new Terminator films. During a recent interview with THR, producer James Cameron and director Tim Miller talked about how they will embrace Schwarzenegger's age in a different way than Terminator: Genisys.
The actor will be 71-years-old by the time they shoot the next Terminator movie and when talking about his age, Cameron said:
“You don’t have to get around it. The beauty of it is: He’s a cyborg. And so, the org part is on the outside, meaning organism. And Reese says it in the first film: ‘They sweat. They have bad breath.’ Because they were supposed to be infiltration units, so there’s this idea that flesh sort of sheaths over a metal endo-skeleton. So that would age normally. So, obviously he’s one that’s been in action...

A sixth Terminator movie is on the way, and it's already got quite the cast. Both of the stars from the 1984 original, Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger, have agreed to return for the new installment. The Hollywood Reporter announced the exciting news at an event in La on Tuesday, where it was also revealed that the sixth movie will pick up where T2: Judgement Day left off, ignoring the three subsequent sequels. Hamilton hasn't appeared as Sarah Connor since 1991, but it definitely seems like the reboot is in good hands. James Cameron, who made the first two films in the franchise, wrote the story and is on board as producer, while Deadpool's Tim Miller is set to direct. The writers' room also included David Goyer (The Dark Knight), Charles Eglee (Dark Angel), and Josh Friedman (The Sarah Connor Chronicles). At the event in La, Cameron seemed to double...

The return of Arnold Schwarzenegger as a killer robot in Terminator: Genisys wasn't enough to lure American audiences back to the stale franchise. Will the return of original heroine Linda Hamilton and original director James Cameron for the next installment make a difference?
Via The Hollywood Reporter.
She’ll be back.
After waving hasta la vista, baby, more than 25 years ago, Linda Hamilton is returning to the world of Terminator, reuniting with James Cameron, the creator of the sci-fi franchise, for the new installment being made by Skydance and Paramount.
Cameron made the announcement at a private event celebrating the storied franchise, saying, "As meaningful as she was to gender and action stars everywhere back then, it’s going to make a huge statement to have that seasoned warrior that she’s become return.

As tough as any T-800 to cross her path, the unstoppable Sarah Connor is synonymous with The Terminator franchise. Linda Hamilton's last appearance as the iconic character was in 1991's Terminator 2: Judgment Day, but now it looks like she'll be back in a new Terminator film that is the first entry in a planned trilogy from James Cameron, Tim Miller, and a writers' room filled with some familiar names.
According to THR, Cameron revealed at a private Terminator celebration that Hamilton is set to return alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger (who played the beloved T-800 in three Terminator films and a T-850 in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) in the new Terminator movie, which is set to be directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool) from a story idea by Cameron, who directed 1984's The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

I'm actually pretty stoked about James Cameron returning to the Terminator franchise to give us a new trilogy of films. Deadpool director Tim Miller is developing the film alongside Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to return to the franchise, and now we've learned from Cameron that Linda Hamilton will be back as well! She will reprise her role of Sarah Connor, which is so freakin' cool!

David Madden may be exactly the executive that AMC needs right now. Madden, who has just been hired as the new president of original programming for AMC, Sundance TV and AMC Studios, is well-liked, creative, and has done it all as a producer, studio executive, and network boss.
The mandate for Madden (who recently stepped down as Fox Entertainment president) is clear: Like most outlets, AMC Networks is hungry to produce — and own — more of its own content. That’s why, in addition to overseeing programming for AMC, the exec will also do the same for Sundance TV and AMC Studios — the shingle tasked with producing more programming for the AMC Networks suite, which also includes BBC America and IFC.

Netflix has officially renewed its original supernatural series "Hemlock Grove" for a ten episode third season which will also be its last. Charles H. Eglee, who served as showrunner in the second season, will return along with executive producer Eli Roth.
"Hemlock Grove" launched to good numbers in June 2013, drawing more viewers in its opening weekend than Netflix’s flagship drama "House of Cards". The second season of Hemlock Grove premiered this past July, and the third is expected to debut next Summer.
On the flip side of this news, TBS has cancelled Cee Lo Green's unscripted series "The Good Life" which wrapped its first season six-episode run back in July. In fact the network has already has taken down its web page for the show hours after its cancellation.
The axe follows in the wake of star Cee Lo Green's controversial, and since-deleted, tweets during the holiday weekend about rape.

Unfortunately for me, before Scream Factory announced that they would be releasing Deadly Eyes to Blu-ray, I had never even heard of the film. As often as I frequented the video store(Daily, for the 5-for-5-for-5 deals), I never even saw Deadly Eyes on the shelf. Had someone explained to me back then, or any time since, that a film exists wherein they strap giant rat costumes to the backs of small dogs, and get them to attack people by stuffing dog food in their pockets, I would have been on a mission to find said movie, because that sounds awesome. Does it not? On the bright side, this means that my first exposure to this film, was Scream Factory’s gorgeous Blu-ray release, stuffed with extras exposing everything I could ever want to know about these dogs dressed up as killer rats. Don’t you worry about Famke Janssen’s powerful, sexy Olivia Godfrey. Though things looked shaky for her at the close of Season One of the Netflix original horror hit "hemlock Grove," Famke told us, "Olivia typically finds her way out of any peril. She is unstoppable."
Just in case you’ve never visited “Hemlock Grove,” it’s a fictional town in Pennsylvania peopled with werewolves, monsters and creatures of all sorts. In Season One, Roman Godfrey, heir to the town’s wealthy Godfrey family fortune, befriended the town’s newest resident, Peter Rumancek.
But things weren’t so “friendly.” A spate of brutal murders in the town stirred up speculation and rumors, and it turned out both young men were hiding their own dark secrets.
Stirring up trouble, quite often, is the family’s malevolent matriarch, Olivia. One of Olivia’s favorite playthings is Norman Godfrey (Dougray Scott), her dead husband’s brother.
