- Didier Decoin was born on March 13, 1945 in Boulogne-Billancourt, Hauts-de-Seine, France. He is a writer and director, known for The Count of Monte Cristo (1998), I... For Icarus (1979) and The King, the Squirrel and the Grass Snake (2010).
- Son of Henri Decoin. In 2006, he published "Henri ous Henry: le roman de lun. père", a book about his father.
- A former journalist at "France-Soir" and "Le Figaro", he began a successful career as a writer, winning the "Prix Goncourt" in 1977 for "John l'Enfer". Since 1995, he is a member of the "Académie Goncourt".
- Ex-President of the "Société des Gens de Lettres".
- President of the association "Ecrivain de Marine" since 2007.
