- Inventor of the now-universally used "video-assist"; a video camera linked to the motion picture camera's lens. This technology allows a director to view takes immediately after calling "cut!" Lewis developed this system as an actor/director in order to review takes that he was unable to view while shooting, since he was an actor in the scene. Now virtually every film made today uses this device, and George Lucas has developed many improvements on it.
