The Golden Globe-winning actress commented on Priem’s passing during the Disney/ABC upfront event on Tuesday, where she told Entertainment Tonight, “The studio, 9-1-1, we all extend our deepest condolences to his friends to his family. During his Thursday appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Ryan Gosling dug deep and answered some questions from the host that normally wouldn’t be revealed.
Included in that was a query on whether he had ever asked someone else for an autograph.
“The first person I asked was The Ultimate Warrior, and he said no,” Gosling said, referring to the pro wrestler. “But the second person I asked — the first person to give it to me — was Ms. Angela Bassett.”
Gosling said the moment came just after he had seen the 1993 Tina Turner biopic, What’s Love Got to Do With It, for which Bassett garnered a nomination for a Best Actress Oscar. Gosling was in the lobby of the AMC Theatre where he’d caught the movie.

It was reported last month that Kathryn Bigelow had dropped out of directing an adaptation of the apocalyptic David Koepp novel “Aurora” for Netflix as new film chief Dan Lin was starting his role. But one of Lin’s first green lights will reportedly be a different Bigelow film with a similarly apocalyptic bent.
According to a report in Puck, “The Hurt Locker” director Bigelow has been tapped to direct a thriller about the White House’s real-time response efforts to an incoming ballistic missile attack on American soil. The script for the film is written by Noah Oppenheim, and the project is expected to be formally announced when Netflix hosts its Upfronts presentation to advertisers next week.
Puck also reported that despite the green light, Bigelow was “visibly annoyed” in regards to notes from Lin asking for the film to cut its budget and length. The report adds that...

Ryan Coogler gave one of the best Marvel films with the Chadwick Boseman starrer Black Panther. The film also starred Michael B. Jordan and was one of the greatest hits of the MCU. It was also the first and only MCU film to be nominated for Best Picture and even won the Oscar for Best Original Score, Costume Design, and Production Design.
The filmmaker returned to the franchise with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and is also reportedly on board to direct Black Panther 3. According to an industry insider, the filmmaker is also eyed by Marvel to helm the franchise’s X-Men reboot, which might be a great decision as he is known for having strong political stances in his films, which would be perfect for an X-Men film.

While Ryan Coogler’s reputation in Hollywood is quite spectacular, the regard given to him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is at another level. He helped the franchise get its first two Oscar wins, as well as numerous award nominations, all through the masterpiece that was Black Panther. Arguably one of the best Marvel films to date, the project not only had an excellent director, but it also had some of the most talented people in the industry as a part of its cast and crew.

Considering how much acclaim the film got, it is not surprising that many trust the filmmaker with the movies that he makes. After the follow-up film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it was expected that he would finish the trilogy. Recently, I wrote an article about how Ron Howard’s Cocoon was hard to find in any format. It came out on DVD many years ago but went out of print and has never been issued on Blu-ray. You also can’t find it digitally on any platform. This is a perfect example of why you should always hang on to your physical media, as I’m lucky enough to own the now out-of-print DVD of that movie, and while it’s far from an ideal copy, it’s something.
But that got me thinking. What other movies are hard to find? I opened up the forum on Twitter, and I was shocked by how many prominent films aren’t available digitally and have gone out of print on disc, making them all the more precious for collectors. At the same time, there are some happy endings, such as Martin Campbell’s No Escape,...

There’s a trap inherent to making a musical biopic. On the one hand, there’s something undeniably thrilling and crowd-pleasing about seeing a cultural icon like Freddie Mercury, Whitney Houston, or Elvis Presley come alive on the screen. On the other hand, when audiences buy a ticket to see a movie about a famous musician, they expect to hear their songs. More importantly, they expect to hear their voices.
Music history is filled with artists whose vocal qualities have become iconic in their own right, immediately distinctive and filled with incredible personality. Think of Mercury’s bombastic, four-octave vocal range that very few people on the planet are capable of replicating. Or Houston’s soulful, gospel-inspired technique, or Presley’s often-parodied stuttering Southern drawl. It’s not only difficult for an actor cast as these artists to live up to their singing — sometimes, it’s quite literally impossible.

[This story contains spoilers from season seven, episode five of 9-1-1, “You Don’t Know Me.”]
A couple of months ago, 9-1-1 co-creator and showrunner Tim Minear reached out to actor Lou Ferrigno Jr. — who had guest-starred in three flashback episodes of the second season — about reprising his role as firefighter Tommy Kinard in the seventh season of the hit Fox-turned-abc first-responder drama.
Ferrigno Jr., who says he had nothing but fond memories of working with the writer and producer years ago, was instantly intrigued to learn that Minear was in the early stages of writing a multi-episode arc that would allow viewers to check back in with Tommy in the present. That storyline, as it turns out, would involve Evan “Buck” Buckley (Oliver Stark), the ostensibly straight character who would navigate his newfound attraction to Tommy in the landmark 100th episode, which aired last Thursday.

9-1-1 is adding a face from Bobby’s (Peter Krause) past for the second half of Season 7.
According to Deadline, Malcolm-Jamal Warner has landed a four-episode arc as Amir.
Amir is a nurse in a hospital’s burn unit with a surprising connection to Bobby.
Details about how the pair come into contact have not been disclosed, but given that we know Amir’s profession, there’s a good chance it will result from a character winding up in that unit.
If Amir’s tie is to Bobby, we expect it to be someone from the 118.
Let’s hope it isn’t Buck (Oliver Stark). He needs a break after his brush with death after being struck by lightning.
Could Malcolm Jamal-Warner become a new series regular?
It’s unclear whether the four episodes could become something more because 9-1-1 has already earned a Season 8 renewal at ABC.

Millie Bobby Brown is no stranger to running from nightmarish creatures. The 20-year-old Netflix starlet has faced off against the Demogorgon, Godzilla and can now add a fire-breathing dragon to the list. Brown leads Netflix’s latest fantasy flick “Damsel” as Elodie, a girl plucked out of her small, impoverished village to enter into a marriage of convenience with Prince Henry of Aurea, played by Nick Robinson. Building the World The deal seems too good to be true — Elodie’s village would receive gold from the kingdom, and all she needed to do was get to know the prince and follow through with the marriage. Warning signs are subtly introduced on the journey to Aurea, where Elodie’s family travels through dark fog illuminated by hyper-realistic dragon statues with fire in their mouths. “Humbled and overwhelmed by the positive reaction to Buck’s storyline,” Stark wrote on his Instagram Story on Saturday. “I’ve read so many of your messages and I couldn’t be prouder.”
Stark also responded to the backlash surrounding the kiss, writing: “If you are one of the smaller group of people commenting on my posts about how this has ruined the show. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for 9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 4 “Buck, Bothered and Bewildered.”] For its 100th episode, 9-1-1, one of the most consistently exciting, heartfelt, and simply entertaining shows on TV, delivers one for the books, setting Buck (Oliver Stark) up for a new romance and to figure out what that means for him. For most of the episode, Buck’s seemingly jealous that Eddie (Ryan Guzman) is leaving him out and has formed a new friendship with Tommy (Lou Ferrigno Jr.), the former member of the 118 who flew them in a helicopter to Athena (Angela Bassett) and Bobby’s (Peter Krause) rescue when their honeymoon turned into a disaster. Eddie and Tommy fly to Vegas to watch a fight? Buck’s bothered. Eddie’s son Christopher (Gavin McHugh) can’t stop talking about Tommy? Buck rants to his sister Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt). [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for 9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 4 “Buck, Bothered and Bewildered.”] If you asked us before 9-1-1 Season 7 began if the ABC first responder drama would take the relationship between Buck (Oliver Stark) and Eddie (Ryan Guzman), which remains strictly platonic, and actually go where some fans have wanted to see it go for some time now, the answer would have seemed simple. But now the question has to be asked. Buck spends the 100th episode “bothered and bewildered,” to borrow its title, upon realizing Eddie’s spending all this free time with Tommy (Lou Ferrigno Jr.), the former 118er they just worked with to rescue Bobby (Peter Krause) and Athena (Angela Bassett). He seems hurt when Eddie talks about meeting someone and just clicking. He tries to get Eddie’s attention at work, then drags Chimney (Kenneth Choi) along to a weekly basketball game upon learning his best friend’s going with Tommy. And ...

When 9-1-1 co-creator Tim Minear signed up on Twitter (now known as X), he chose a telling handle to denote his legacy as a screenwriter and director: @Cancelledagain. “I was sort of infamous for all of my thundering failures over the years,” explains Minear. “Firefly lasted one season, Terriers one season, The Inside one season, Drive went for six episodes. Everything was canceled, so I just called myself ‘cancelled again,’ which actually worked out for me because these are all beloved little cult shows now.”
With the seventh season of 9-1-1, which he created with Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, underway and a milestone 100th episode premiering April 4, Minear now has a big, long-running show on his hands, plus a successful spinoff in 9-1-1: Lone Star, which will debut its fifth season in the fall. So much so that he’s considering a name change if he returns to the social media platform.

Eddie (Ryan Guzman) has a new friend in 9-1-1‘s 100th episode, “Buck, Bothered and Bewildered,” and it doesn’t look like Buck’s (Oliver Stark) all that happy about it in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek. The logline teases that Buck becomes envious when Eddie forms a close bond with someone else, and that someone else is Tommy (Lou Ferrigno Jr.), the former member of the 118 who helped everyone fly to Athena (Angela Bassett) and Bobby’s (Peter Krause) rescue during the cruise ship disaster that was their honeymoon. Now, in our clip, Buck’s visiting Tommy to talk to him about his work after the 118. “What got you into flying, aside from the fact that I assume it’s like having a superpower?” he asks. Tommy shares that he was a pilot in the Army. Buck remarks that Eddie was in the Army as well, and Tommy says that he mentioned it.
