The Old Line State Movies
The Old Line State is the official nickname of Maryland. According to some historians, General George Washington bestowed the name "Old Line State," associating Maryland with its regular line troops (the Maryland Line) who served courageously in many Revolutionary War battles (source: statesymbolsusa.org). Maryland became the 7th state of the United States of America in 1788.
