Historical Timeline
2002
- Films and TV programs eligible for this year's inaugural awards cover an 18-month period in some cases. In the past the eligibility periods for the two separate award events, APRA and AGSC, were 1 January - 31 December and 1 October - 30 September respectively. With the merger of the two awards, it was decided to align the qualifying periods for future award events to achieve uniformity across all award categories. For the 2002 event, the APRA-granted awards of Best Feature Film Score, Best Television Theme and Best Music for Children's Television will cover the lengthy period of 1 January 2001 - 30 June 2002, as these categories were not awarded the APRA Music Awards earlier this year.
