- When Mr. Dithers is suddenly hospitalized with an ulcer, Dagwood is put in charge of the construction of a new factory, but his new role as boss might not last long: on the first day on the job, a bird's nest is discovered in a tree that is scheduled to be chopped down.
- To save money, Mr Dithers moves into the Bumsteads' home while his own house is being redecorated. Relationships sour quickly as the Dithers see the Bumsteads more as servants than kind-hearted people.

- International spies pick Dagwood's hat as the hiding place for a role of secret microfilm. When Dagwood takes his hat back before they can retrieve the film, they sent out a beautiful secret agent to get it back.
- Dagwood is in charge while boss Dithers is vacationing. Things are fine until a client comes in with a multi-million dollar deal and a quick decision must be made. Blondie tries to assist her husband in his quandary.
- Herb and Dagwood get into a big argument about politics, and vow never to speak to one another again. However, they soon find that each has tools that belong to the other.
- Blondie and Mrs. Woodley go shopping downtown and leave some packages in a locker, planning to pick them up later. But when Blondie gets home, she discovers that instead of the pound of liver she bought, her package contains $50,000.00 in cash. Then two gangsters soon show up at her door asking about it.
- Dagwood decides that the living room isn't "manly" enough, so he insists that it be refurnished. To his dismay, Blondie promptly summons an interior decorator to give her an estimate on what redecorating the entire house would cost.
- Mr. Dithers mentions to Dagwood that while he was in a nightclub he saw a singer who looked just like Blondie. Naturally, Dagwood comes to the conclusion that Blondie is sneaking out of the house at night to sing in a nightclub.
- Shortly after Blondie and Dagwood argue over Blondie buying a new hat, a friend of hers asks her if she wants to write the local newspaper's advice column for a week, and Blondie sees a chance for a little payback to Dagwood.
