Gossip Girl (2007)
biter sweet
gossip girl is such a great view of what a glamorous life for many could really be. it gives such a great perspective into the wealthy lives of many families, like on the upper east side. it is most certainly a guilty pleasure. Blair's character is completely witty, moody, mean, but just hands down brilliant. quite frankly if it weren't for the absolute brilliant love story of chuck and Blair.. i might have not loved the show so much. but lets get down to the real aspect of the show... it was such a great storyline that could've prospered in so many was. in the first few seasons while they were still in high school.. it was great.. and gossip girl was the main focus of the show.. but after they graduated gossip girl was ''supposed'' to still be the main aspect of the show but it most certainly fell apart. with out the snarky high school drama absolute ridiculous stories came about. i mean just plain out crazy. also there were way too many love interests. and the love interests, outside of the main characters that the main characters had with unofficial cast ended too soon. it was all too rushed, and by the end everyone had dated everyone. you know the show is called gossip girl... not dating girls. lol. well in the end the show was getting old but other ridiculous scenarios should have been cut out and other stories shouldn't have been rushed. i was so uninvested in the end... chuck and Blairs wedding was way too rushed and the whole ordeal of them having to get married so Blair could not testify against Charles was just a quick way to end the show. the things that i was most surprised at was first that the series finale was only and hour? thats all the writers could do? after millions had fallen in love with this show the hour they give to every episode was all they could give us? second.. the fact that Lilly and Rufus did not end up together. i mean come on... that was just so disappointing. i mean it was Lilly and Rufus high school sweet hearts and everything.. i mean way to have your fans loose all hope in love. third the fact that the writers just completely killed off jenny and Vanessa.. its like they got bored with them so they just said adiós.. i mean really? you can have Georgina be reoccurring but not Jennie or Vanessa? and last... i know it was kind of planned out for Serena and Dan to end up together... but am i the only one who thought Serena and Nate made the better couple? gossip girl had the potential to be one of the best shows known to the world of television.. but it just ended up being the classic story of a show that was dragged on for way too long.
Weeds (2005)
please read.
utterly disappointed. it was a completely fantastic witty show the first i would say the first three seasons.. it made me laugh and every day i couldn't wait to watch this show. but after the third season it just fell apart. my rating on the seasons began to decline each one. it started off as a ten; and ended as a 1. jenji, the writer, became to wrapped up with the fact that her show was a success and became too cocky, clearly, in her writing skills. it was clear that she had begun running out of ideas as each season arrived. she began to make us view Nancy as cynical and annoying, she began to make up ridiculous things to keep us interested. she relied on nudity to keep people watching, and yet i fell for it. and at one point in the show.. 'weed' was completely removed. so then why would the show be called weeds? it lost the whole back story. the story line completely fell apart when the botwin gang moved away from agrestic... wait isn't this show supposed to be about the herb in suburb? the three things that I'm most disappointed with ... 1) the fact that great hilarious characters, which made the show, like Isabelle and Celia were completely killed off 2) that the whole witty aspect of the show and Nancy's heartfelt die hard hilarious character was just destroyed ... and 3) that a love story that could've been the next chuck and Blair romeo and Juliet was left to not be. how could Andy and Nancy not end up together? and I'm just so disappointed. heartbroken. and sad. jenji disappointed the fans, so much. weeds made me tear up at some points but by the last season i was completely uninvested. jenji left us with no love in the show anymore. she turned Nancy into some sort of terrible person and in the end gave her nothing to prevail with. its almost like jenji became so mad with Nancy. in my personal opinion, even if it would have still left many with controversial feelings towards the end, the last season.. series finale... it should have ended with Nancy laying on the ground with Andy and then Andy running off. because it made me sad and cry yes.. but at least it made me wonder and still love the show for how great it was.. because quite frankly in the part 1 and 2 of the finale nothing changed? we only saw how shitty Nancy's life really ended up being.. and Andy and Nancy still did not end up together. so what was the point? my advice: stop watching after season three and just picture the ending how you would like to see it.
