[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for When Calls the Heart Season 11 Episode 9 “Truth Be Told.”] The mystery surrounding who shot Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally) got even more complicated in the June 2 episode of When Calls the Heart. Bernhardt Montague (Benjamin Wilkinson), the man Bill (Jack Wagner) thought was behind the shooting, was attacked in the episode while in Hope Valley. With Season 11 winding down, will the mystery finally be solved? Wagner promised during TV Insider’s weekly When Calls the Heart aftershow, Heart Beats, that fans will get answers. “I think it’s unexpected, and it has some pretty nice twists,” Wagner said about the reveal. “Bill is convinced that Bernhardt Montague, our villain from last year who tried to steal our water supply from Hope Valley, is definitely not only involved but the centerpiece to the shooting of our governor Lucas Bouchard. So it’s unraveling and also getting to the truth, which is really...

When Calls the Heart continues to bring drama to Hope Valley.
Spoilers for When Calls the Heart Season 11 Episode 9 hint that most of the residents are displeased to see Montague return to their town.
That feeling may increase once Rosemary's article gets published, making Lucas public enemy number two.
A few weeks ago, Chris McNally hinted that one of his decisions would put him at odds with Rosemary and Lee, and this must be part of it.
After Montague tried to steal their land and water in Season 10, no one trusted him, especially Bill, since Montague stole his land and conned Madeline and Jamie.
Things are bound to get complicated because Bill and Rosemary have invested so much time trying to protect Lucas from Montague, who they believe tried to kill him.
Unless Lucas brings Montague to town to try and sniff details out of him, bringing him to Hope...

Yellowjackets fans will be eating good soon as season 3 will be on its way to your screens with production officially starting. The third year of our favorite schoolgirls was one of the victims of a great delay due to the dual union strikes in Hollywood last year. However, there would be a bonus episode in between the second and third season that would whet viewers’ appetites before the true continuation occurred.
The official Yellowjackets account on social media has just dropped an announcement that filming on season 3 has officially taken off. The announcement is followed by some teaser photos of the camp with one picture showcasing the script for the premiere episode. The post reads, “We know you’re starving… #Yellowjackets Season 3 is officially in production.” Which is then followed by a clapperboard emoji and a bee yellowjacket emoji. You can view the photos below.

True crime podcasts have effectively become a foundation for many scripted shows like ‘Bodkin’, a seven-episode series on Netflix centered around a trio venturing into the retiree Irish town called Bodkin to unfurl the mystery of three individuals who vanished two decades ago. With theatrical parallels noted with ‘Only Murders in the Building’ (Hulu), ‘Based on a True Story’ (Peacock), and ‘Truth Be Told’ (Apple TV+), ‘Bodkin’ injects its unique style into the mix. It begins by introducing us to Gilbert, personified by Will Forte, whose initial podcasting success descends into professional desperation as he becomes a classic one-hit wonder

It had been a minute since Anna Gunn felt the anticipation of an intriguing script hitting her inbox. Understandably, the incomparable writing she received for a combined decade on Deadwood and Breaking Bad set a high bar. But then the Colin Farrell-led Apple TV+ series Sugar came along.
Created by Mark Protosevich and executive produced by Audrey Chon/Simon Kinberg, the neo-noir show ended up being one of a couple recent Breaking Bad reunions for Gunn. Co-heads of Apple TV+ programming, Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg, served as presidents at Sony Pictures Television when Vince Gilligan walked through their doors with his Breaking Bad pilot script, and on top of having a hand in Gunn joining Sugar, the two executives have been busy recruiting their former Breaking Bad collaborators to their acclaimed streamer, including Gilligan and his still-untitled upcoming series; Jonathan Banks and director-ep Michelle MacLaren for Constellation...

What’s a film without distribution? The Popcorn List sets out to make sure that doesn’t happen to the best indies.
Founded by Lela Meadow-Conner and Barbara Twist, the inaugural annual survey spotlights 20 features that debuted at major or regional film festivals this past year and come highly recommended by festival programmers. Nineteen out of the 20 movies have reviews on Letterboxd, despite not yet having theatrical or digital distribution in the U.S. All 20 have won awards — including Audience Awards and Jury Awards — at festivals like Sundance and SXSW.
Billed as being The Black List for undistributed films, the 2024 Popcorn List highlights independent films that are currently still without domestic U.S. distribution, like the documentary “Chasing Chasing Amy” about the making of Kevin Smith’s comedy.
The other 18 are: “Ajoomma,” “American Pot Story: Oaksterdam,” “Art for Everybody,” “Asog,” “Blood Sweat & Beers,” “Caterpillar,” “Citizen Sleuth,” “City of Wind,” “Crows Are White,...

Exclusive: Fifth Season is selling more than $1B worth of Apple TV+ content including Jason Momoa-starrer See, Nicole Kidman’s Roar and M. Night Shyamalan’s Servant at the London TV Screenings.
Prentiss Fraser, Fifth Season’s president of TV distribution, said the move realizes the outfit’s long-term strategy of landing big streamer shows that can then be sold in their second window to smaller buyers.
She said there is “little crossover” between Apple TV+ subscribers and regular linear broadcast viewers in crucial territories, which highlights the opportunities for second window. The UK, for example, is estimated to have around 2 million Apple TV+ subs – just 3% of the population.
Fifth Season’s London Apple slate includes four seasons of Shyamalan’s psychological horror Servant, three seasons of Steven Knight’s Momoa sci-fi vehicle See and another three of Octavia Spencer-starring legal drama Truth Be Told. There is also...

The upcoming MCU project, ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ is stirring up a lot of buzz. Fans are eagerly anticipating it, but its production has faced its share of challenges, including strikes and clashes over creative direction between the showrunners and the studio.
Details about the plot are sparse, but we know that Daredevil will be embarking on a new journey, setting up a law practice while trying to redefine himself. Meanwhile, Kingpin, one of his archenemies, is vying for the position of mayor in New York, a plot point teased in the post-credits scenes of ‘Echo.’
Vincent D’Onofrio will be returning, but he might not be the main antagonist this time around. Rumors suggest that Muse, a villain from Marvel Comics—a twisted serial killer who turns his victims into gruesome art—will take on that role. Muse’s true identity and powers remain shrouded in mystery, but his unyielding ego...

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is one of the most talked-about upcoming MCU projects, partly due to the fan-fueled hype and partly due to its turbulent production that’s been plagued with everything from SAG-AFTRA strike to creative differences in what the showrunners wanted and what the studio wanted.
Not much is known about the overall plot except for the fact that Daredevil will be starting a new law practice as he is trying to re-invent himself, with Kingpin, one of his greatest enemies running for mayor of New York, something that was foreshadowed in the post-credits scenes of ‘Echo.’
While it is certain that D’Onforio will make a return, he seemingly won’t be the primary villain of the show’s first season as it’s been heavily rumored for at least a couple of months that this honor will go to Muse. Muse is a villain in Marvel Comics...

Fresh Air radio co-host Tonya Mosley is set to launch the She Has a Name podcast next month, about a young Detroit mother lost amid that city’s economic collapse and crack cocaine epidemic.
The 10-part documentary podcast from Apm Studios will kick off March 28. Mosley, who grew up in Detroit in the 1980s and ’90s and is now co-host of Fresh Air With Terry Gross and Tonya Mosley, is joined by her nephew, Antonio Wiley, to tell a story of family disconnection and healing.
The origins of the podcast, which blends investigative journalism and memoir, came in 1987 when Detroit firefighters discovered the remains of an unidentified young woman in a vacant house deliberately set on fire.
Buried in a cemetery as “Unknown Woman 1987,” it took a DNA program 30 years later to identify the young woman’s remains as those of Anita — the mother of Antonio Wiley and the sister...

Oscar nominee Kate Hudson (Almost Famous) is attached to star in and executive produce Mindy Kaling’s untitled comedy series set up at Netflix. Kaling is writing and executive producing the 10-episode season along with Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project) and David Stassen (History of the World).
Stassen is serving as showrunner. Additional executive producers include Howard Klein (3 Arts Entertainment), Jeanie Buss, and Linda Rambis.
“When a scandal forces her brother to resign, Isla Gordon is appointed President of the Los Angeles Waves, one of the most storied professional basketball franchises, and her family business,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “Ambitious and often overlooked, Isla will have to prove to her skeptical brothers, the board, and the larger sports community that she was the right choice for the job, especially in the unpredictable, male-dominated world of sports.”
Kate Hudson (Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery) will play Isla Gordon.

Kate Hudson is taking the court with Mindy Kaling and Netflix.
Hudson is set to star in a comedy series inspired by Los Angeles Lakers president Jeanie Buss (who’s also an executive producer on the project) and the family business that is the NBA franchise. Netflix gave the project a straight to series order in June 2021 — more than 2 1/2 years ago.
Hudson will play Isla Gordon, the only sister in a family of competitive brothers. Isla has been underappreciated her whole life, but when a scandal forces her brother to resign as president of the Los Angeles Waves pro basketball team, she’s appointed president and gets the chance to prove she deserves to be part of the family business.

While fans of the Showtime series Yellowjackets (read our review of season 2 Here) patiently wait to see the bonus episode that’s going to air sometime between the second and third seasons, showrunners Ashley Lyle, Bart Nickerson, and Jonathan Lisco have let it be known that season 3 – which was, of course, greatly delayed by the strikes that hit the entertainment industry last year – is finally going to start filming in May, aiming for an early 2025 premiere!
Christina Ricci and Juliette Lewis star in Yellowjackets, which is is described as “equal parts survival epic, horror story, and coming-of-age drama.” The story centers on a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the Ontario wilderness. Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham are to team up for a new action-adventure series at Prime Video.
The series will see Waddingham play Judith, who has secretly been working as a highly trained assassin. That’s a double life that Judith’s best friend Debbie (played by Spencer) knows nothing about — until a hit goes wrong. Now Judith and Debbie are on the run, aiming to stay one step ahead of a mysterious enemy. And while they try to figure out what’s going on, they also have to fix their now-ruptured friendship.
Also in news – Original ‘Star Wars’ trilogy to hit the BFI IMAX this December
Based on an original idea by exec producer Tessa Coates, Skydance Television is behind the show, along with Andy and Barbara Muschietti’s Double Dream shingle and Spencer’s Orit Entertainment. The untitled series will produce eight episodes for Prime Video across the world.

Exclusive: Tye White (American Auto) and Jason O’Mara (The Man in the High Castle) are set for key recurring roles on the upcoming second season of CBS drama series Fire Country.
The drama stars Max Thieriot as Bode Donovan, a young convict seeking redemption and a shortened prison sentence by joining a prison release firefighting program in Northern California, where he and other inmates are partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish massive, unpredictable wildfires across the region. It’s a high-risk, high-reward assignment, and the heat is turned up when Bode is assigned to the program in his rural hometown, where he was once a golden all-American son – until his troubles began. Five years ago, Bode burned down everything in his life, leaving town with a big secret. Now he’s back, with the rap sheet of a criminal and the audacity to believe in a chance for redemption with Cal Fire.

Oscar winner Octavia Spencer (Truth Be Told) and Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso) are set to star in and executive produce a new comedy series from creator Tessa Coates (Feel Good). In a highly competitive situation with multiple bidders, the as-yet-untitled series from Skydance Television has landed at Prime Video with a straight-to-series order.
The 8-episode series, based on an original pitch from Coates, follows two best friends, Judith (Waddingham) and Debbie (Spencer), who know everything about each other—or do they? Unbeknownst to Debbie, Judith has been living a double life as a highly trained assassin. When a hit goes horribly wrong, the pair must go on the run together and work to repair their broken friendship—all while being targeted by a mysterious enemy who wants them dead.
Skydance Television produces in collaboration with Andy and Barbara Muschietti’s Double Dream and Spencer’s Orit Entertainment.

Consider this Thelma & Louise meets Jack Ryan.
Amazon, following an intensive bidding war, has landed the action-adventure show starring Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer with an eight-episode, straight-to-series order.
The untitled show is based on an original idea from Tessa Coates (Feel Good) that was taken out to six of the major streamers, four of which bought the show while in the room and with the others also making offers before Amazon emerged the victor, prompting the pitch to the seventh streamer to be canceled. The series was one of few new original scripted ideas that generated multiple offers in what many Hollywood insiders say has been an unusually quiet marketplace after the writers strike.
Ted Lasso Emmy winner Waddingham and The Help Oscar winner Octavia Spencer will star as best friends Judith and Debbie, respectively, who work to repair their friendship after Debbie learns Judith is a highly trained assassin.

While fans of the Showtime series Yellowjackets (read our review of season 2 Here) patiently wait to see the bonus episode that’s going to air sometime between the second and third seasons, showrunners Ashley Lyle, Bart Nickerson, and Jonathan Lisco have confirmed that they and the writers that populate the show’s writing room are deep into the writing process on Yellowjackets season 3.
The show’s writers had already assembled to work on the next batch of episodes when the Writers Guild strike hit at the start of May – and that strike kept the development of season 3 on hold through the end of September. During a Q&a for SAG-AFTRA nomination committee members last night, Lyle said (as reported by Variety), “We’re deep in the writing. (Once the writers strike ended) everybody came back so incredibly enthusiastic, raring to go and creatively invigorated. We’re having so much fun...
