Storyline
Did you know
- TriviaWhen Phil Coulson admits that Fury's Toolbox contains no information about human outposts in space, Yo-Yo Rodriguez replies, "S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't have a space division called S.P.E.A.R. or something?" which Coulson declined. This is a reference to S.W.O.R.D., a S.H.I.E.L.D. subdivision specialized in extraterrestrial threats in the comics.
- GoofsWhen Deke asks Coulson where he's from, Coulson replies "Manitowoc, Wisconsin", pronouncing it "man-ih-toe-wok". Someone born there (or native to most of Wisconsin) would pronounce it "man-twok".
- Quotes
[Mack punches out Virgil]
Phil Coulson: Mack.
Alphonso 'Mack' Mackenzie: You okay? What the hell's going on?
Phil Coulson: I was about to find out.
Alphonso 'Mack' Mackenzie: Oh, my bad. I see a dirty looking dude hovering over you with a crazy looking gun. I acted on impulse. Where'd that rock send us?
Phil Coulson: Well, I don't have many details, but I do know we're in space.
Alphonso 'Mack' Mackenzie: Yeah, that makes sense. That's one thing we haven't done yet.
- ConnectionsReferences Alien (1979)
To me AoS is the best superhero show ever made. There are a couple of DC animated shows that have almost been on this level but for regular TV I can only remember a few episodes of Smallville and the first two season of Arrow that has even come close to the fantastic show that is Agents of Shield.
This episode is almost confusing. I kept saying "what!?" and "What the hella is going on!?" all the time, but in a very, very good way. The episode feels like a great x-files or a Twilight Zone episode, with some Alien thrown in there. The cast is amazing and the sort of clunky feel from the acting/script that existed during the first season, and occasionally later, is now completely gone, the directing great and everything just scream high quality and intelligence.
If you want amazing TV entertainment this is the show for you. AoS is the best Sci-fi since Fringe, best group of characters since Firefly, and the best darn superhero show ever made.
