Brenda Song, Scott MacArthur, and Drew Tarver are all joining the show alongside previously announced series lead Kate Hudson. The untitled series received a 10-episode order at Netflix in June 2021.
The official logline states, “When a scandal forces her brother to resign, Isla Gordon (Hudson) is appointed President of the Los Angeles Waves, one of the most storied professional basketball franchises, and her family business. Norman Lear, the writer, producer and citizen activist who coalesced topical conflict and outrageous comedy in such wildly popular sitcoms as All in the Family, Maude, Good Times, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman and The Jeffersons, has died. He was 101.
Lear died Tuesday at his home in Los Angeles surrounded by his family who, according to a statement on his official Instagram account, sang songs until the very end.
“Norman lived a life in awe of the world around him. He marveled at his cup of coffee every morning, the shape of the tree outside his window, and the sounds of beautiful music,” read the post. “But it was people — those he just met and those he knew for decades — who kept his mind and heart forever young. As we celebrate his legacy and reflect on the next chapter of life without him, we would like to thank everyone for all the love and support.

In what may be the first of many big delays in this dual-strike era, ABC has decided to hold High Potential, its new, Kaitlin Olson-led detective drama, for fall of next year.
In the wake of the WGA strike being settled but SAG-AFTRA still at the hypothetical bargaining table, there has been speculation that the broadcast networks may opt to forego fast-tracking abbreviated seasons of 13 (or far fewer episodes) that dribble out in late winter/spring and instead sit tight and launch full, robust seasons next fall.

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has some hilarious dialogue, but the physical comedy is a huge highlight of the series. From Frank falling out of a window to Dee's constant retching, some of the most memorable moments of the show are totally silent. Charlie Day might have starred as a silent comic in "Fool's Paradise," but the real slapstick artist of the group is Kaitlin Olson, who plays the intolerable Sweet Dee.
Olson has proven time and time again that there's no line she won't cross for a good joke, even if it means putting herself in physical danger. In fact, one of Dee's biggest moments of physical comedy was filmed while Olson was well into her first pregnancy — and it may have caused some permanent damage to her stomach.

One cast member on the hit FX series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has a long history of getting injured both on-set and off, but in season 16, they really upped the ante by showing up on the first day of filming with a black eye. Fans of the series could probably guess that it was Kaitlin Olson, who plays the foul-mouthed, allegedly bird-like Deandra "Sweet Dee" Reynolds. Sweet Dee and Olson aren't too much alike beyond appearances, except for the fact that both seem to be ridiculously clumsy and accident-prone, which is how Olson ended up with a shiner on the first day of filming. The incident didn't go unnoticed, however, and Olson's co-star and husband Rob McElhenney shared a photo of the big bruise on his Twitter account, joking about how "of course" she had to injure herself.

In 2012, Eva Longoria wrapped up the eighth and final season of Desperate Housewives, and she had a decision to make about her future. “That last year of Housewives,” she says, “I remember getting every single show offered to me to star in … to star in … to star in …”
Amid the throes of the streaming era, it’s easy to forget the omnipresence of a network breakout like Housewives. In its first season in 2004, Housewives was pulling in more viewers on Sunday nights than the average Sunday Night Football game does in 2023. As we creep towards summer, Netflix has a hot new list of fresh content, including the final season of “Never Have I Ever,” the sophomore season of ‘Human Resources” and the highly anticipated sixth season of “Black Mirror.”
Kicking off the start of the month on mega streamer are lots of family-friendly goodies like both “Nanny McPhee” and “Nanny McPhee Returns,” “Kicking and Screaming,” “Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius” and the “Angry Birds Movie.” But the adults won’t be left out of the conversation, as more mature flicks and series like “Jarhead,” “Funny People” and “We’re the Millers” are also hitting the platform this month.

Kaitlin Olson has made a career out of being lovably depraved. She rose to fame as Sweet Dee on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, who, like every character on the show, has morally questionable tendencies and mostly bad intentions. Olson brought a similar sense of debauchery to Mickey, the lead of the canceled Fox sitcom The Mick. The biggest difference between the two, however, is that Mickey had a moral compass that, while slightly askew, allowed her to make everyone around her a (mostly) better person and, in one specific instance, take a stand to support young kids questioning their gender identity.

Netflix gained a new competitor last month (sort of) when HBO Max and Discovery+ combined forces to create the confusingly-named Max. With its list of new releases for June 2023, however, Netflix doesn’t have too much to worry about.
This month is filled with some major Netflix original titles, not the least of which is The Witcher season 3 volume 1 on June 29. Though star Henry Cavill is set to leave the Polish folklore/video game adaptation in season 4, he remains very much entrenched as the titular Witcher in this next go-around. Other big TV hits include Manifest season 4 part 2 (June 2), Big Mouth spinoff Human Resources season 2 (June 9), and animated King Kong series Skull Island (June 22). That’s not even to mention the return of Black Mirror season 6. That still has yet to receive a release date but we have no doubt it will be properly epic once it arrives.

Almost no one can put away drinks like the debaucherous gang from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," but legendary baseball player Wade Boggs would give them a run for their money. In the season 10 premiere, the dive bar owners hop on a cross-country flight to tackle Boggs' record of 70 beers in transit. The actual number is disputed — Boggs himself claims it's even higher than legend would have us believe — but the episode's premise remains hilarious.
"[Boggs] was famous for baseball, he was also famous for the amount of beer he could drink," series co-creator and star Charlie Day explained to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show when the episode first aired. "Supposedly, when they would have these cross-country flights, he would drink on average 40 to 50, some say 70 beers. So our characters are trying to break that record in the episode ... and then see if we can hit a baseball the next day,...

Mel McKeon and Laura Myones Ruf have been working side by side so long that it’s common they finish each other’s sentences. That comes in helpful, especially now, as the veteran talent managers have a lot to talk about.
It’s been a year since the two, who started working together in 1997 with Myones starting as McKeon’s assistant, rebranded their McKeon/Myones Entertainment to Afa Prime Talent, a transition that has signaled a new era for their management-production company.
Together, they have maintained a client roster of busy actors including Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale), Sarah Shahi (Black Adam, Sex/Life), Alona Tal (Cross), Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool 2, Invasion), Vivian Wu (Afterparty, Irma Vep), Michael Trucco (Average Joe), Thomas Barbusca (The Mick, Chad), Sean Patrick Thomas (Till, For All Mankind and The Boys spinoff Gen V), Missi Pyle (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Y: The Last Man), Elaine Hendrix...

Laura Chinn has written for projects like "The Mick," "Children's Hospital," and "Florida Girls," which she created and starred in. She's also acted in projects like "Happy Endings," and "Warrior." If that wasn't enough, Chinn had a script selected for 2020's The Black List, a grouping of all the unproduced scripts of note from that year. That script is set to become the upcoming drama film "Suncoast," which will serve as Chinn's directorial debut, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Production for the new film will begin in September through Searchlight Pictures, with a number of big-name actors signing on for roles, including Woody Harrelson and Laura Linney.
