That ’90s Show continues the legacy of That ’70s Show, focusing on the next generation of teenagers in Point Place, Wisconsin. Production on the show’s second season was stalled due to the Hollywood strikes. However, the sitcom is poised to return for a second season in 2024.
That ‘90s Show will return with its second season on Netflix in 2024.
Netflix recently revealed a new release strategy for the new batch of episodes that will debut on the streaming platform later this year. However, given the staggered release of the episodes, the sitcom seems to be following in the footsteps of flagship shows like Stranger Things and The Witcher. Here is why it might not be a good idea for Netflix to release That ’90s Show in two parts.

Oscar-nominated Debra Winger is one of the most enigmatic actresses of her generation. She burst onto the film scene in 1980 with “Urban Cowboy” and in the course of the next three years, she was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards as well as two Oscar nominations (for “Officer” and “Terms”). To many female moviegoers in particular, Winger embodied the kind of tough, self-sufficient woman that they aspired to become, yet there was always room within Winger’s characters for love with the right person.
Post-1983, Winger continued to work steadily, earning a fifth Golden Globe nod for 1993’s “A Dangerous Woman” as well as a third Oscar nomination and second BAFTA nom for 1993’s “Shadowlands.” However, after 1995’s romantic comedy “Forget Paris,” Winger virtually disappeared from high-profile films, choosing a semi-retirement with occasional film work now and then. The idea of retiring at the peak of one’s career was...

Netflix is investing in Leanne Morgan.
The streamer has handed out a 16-episode, straight-to-series order for an untitled multicamera comedy starring the stand-up comedian. Comedy kingpin Chuck Lorre (Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men) co-created the series alongside Morgan and Susan McMartin.
Netflix says the untitled comedy revolves around Leanne, whose life “takes an unexpected turn when her husband of 33 years leaves her for another woman. Starting over when you’re a grandmother and in menopause isn’t exactly what she had in mind, but with the help of her family she will navigate this new chapter with grace, dignity and Jell-o salad.”
Morgan broke out thanks in large part to her 2023 Netflix stand-up special I’m Every Woman, which reached the top 10 comedy specials on the streamer. The Tennessee native has been in the comedy industry for 25 years and started out playing local comedy clubs before rising...

Remember that action flick from 1989, Road House? With its gritty actions and cool characters, especially Patrick Swayze in the lead bouncer, the movie was a big hit. And now, it has gotten a reboot! MGM and Silver Picture dropped the remake on March 8, 2024, with Doug Liman directing and starring Jake Gyllenhaal in the Swayze’s shoes.
Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor in Road House
But we should not fail to remember the Og cast. They were top-notch, right? Sure, the remake is guaranteed to feature an excellent supporting cast, but it’s cool to see where the old team ended up.
Some are still kicking it in Hollywood, while others have sadly passed on. Either way, they left their mark. So, let’s catch up with the Road House crew and find out what they’ve been up to since the original movie rocked theaters.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge today denied bail pending appeal to convicted rapist Danny Masterson with worries the That 70s Show actor could make a run for it.
“If defendant’s conviction and sentence are upheld on appeal, he will likely remain in custody for decades and perhaps the rest of his life,” wrote Judge Charlaine Olmedo in an order Wednesday. “In light of the fact that defendant has no wife to go home to, defendant now has every incentive to flee and little reason to return to state prison to serve out the remainder of his lengthy sentence should his appeal be unsuccessful,” the judge added in reference to the ongoing divorce proceedings between Masterson and Bijou Phillips.
Transferred to North Kern State Prison in late December, the 47-year-old Masterson is currently serving a 30-year to life sentence on dual rape convictions. Under present Golden State statutes, he...

Exclusive: Netflix has picked up another installment of its popular multi-camera comedy series The Upshaws. The blue-collar sitcom created by Regina Hicks and Wanda Sykes has been renewed for a 10-episode fourth season.
After the 10-episode first season, Seasons 2 and 3 of The Upshaws have been released in two parts — of eight and six episodes each, respectively — so the renewal is for Part 6 of the series, as officially referred to by Netflix.
Production on the 10-episode new season, which will be released in one batch, will begin next year. The six-episode Part 5 of The Upshaws (second half of Season 3), is slated to premiere in spring 2024.
Somewhat flying under the radar, The Upshaws has been a sturdy performer for Netflix in a genre — multi-camera sitcom — that has been challenging for streamers. Paramount+ has removed Russell Brand’s stand-up special, “Russell Brand in New York,” following the sexual assault allegations against him.
The comedian’s 2009 special is no longer available to stream on the platform. Search results for “Russell Brand” on Paramount+ now only produce two results: “Katy Perry the Movie: Part of Me” and the “Roast of David Hasselhoff.” The former includes scenes of Perry dealing with the collapse of her marriage with Brand. The comedian appears in background footage in the latter.
As for other stateside streamers, another one of Brand’s specials — “Russell Brand: Re:Birth” — is still available to stream on Netflix. It’s rare for Netflix to take down original specials, movies or shows after creators land in hot water. Kevin Spacey’s “House of Cards,” for instance, is still available to stream on the platform. Louis C.K.’s “2017,” “Hilarious” and “Live at the Comedy Store” stand-up specials are also available,...

Less than two weeks after Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for the rape of two women, his wife Bijou Phillips has filed for divorce.
In a statement to THR, Bijou Phillips’ lawyer Peter Lauzon said, “Ms. Phillips has decided to file for divorce from her husband during this unfortunate time. Her priority remains with her daughter. This period has been unimaginably hard on the marriage and the family. Mr. Masterson was always present for Ms. Phillips during her most difficult times of her life. Ms. Phillips acknowledges that Mr. Masterson is a wonderful father to their daughter.” Bijou Phillips stood by her husband throughout his legal battles, and insiders had claimed that she had no plans to file for divorce after sentencing, so this news has come as a surprise to many.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’ 2002 interview on “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” resurfaced on social media after the two actors apologized for writing letters of support for Danny Masterson ahead of his sentencing for rape. In the viral clip, Kunis reveals that Masterson once bet Kutcher $10 to French kiss her while filming an episode of their Fox sitcom “That ’70s Show.” The actors are in good spirits about the incident, but the clip has amassed over four million views and counting in the days after Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life for rape.
“She was 14 when we started the show. I was 19,” Kutcher says in the 2002 interview. “And they were like, ‘You guys are going to be making out in this scene.’ And I’m thinking, ‘Wait, this is slightly illegal.'”
“I’ve never kissed a guy,” Kunis adds. “I was a 14-year-old little girl and I was extremely scared for my life.

Los Angeles, Sep 9 (Ians) Actors and star couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have written in support of the rape accused actor Danny Masterson, ahead of his sentencing, vouching for his character.
Kutcher and Kunis wrote letters in an effort to urge the judge for a lesser sentencing. In Kutcher’s letter, he referred to Masterson as a “role model”, while Kunis vouched for Masterson’s “exceptional character”, calling him as an “outstanding older brother figure,” in documents obtained by Variety.
Both the actors have previously worked with Masterson. Kutcher and Kunis starred in ‘That ’70s Show’ with him, which ran for eight seasons and 200 episodes between 1998 and 2006.
Kutcher then again starred with Masterson on the web series, ‘The Ranch’, though Masterson was written out of the show in its third season, after being accused of sexual assault in 2017.

When allegations of rape against Danny Masterson cost him his TV show and Hollywood career in 2017, he bought land in the Santa Ynez Valley (setting for the movie “Sideways”) and started a vineyard, toiling “long days on the land” to make it a profitable venture, his wife Bijou Phillips said.

Having publicly hoped earlier this year that Danny Masterson would be found “innocent” of rape charges in his retrial, Ashton Kutcher also sought to convince the judge in his That 70s Show co-star’s case of what a great guy the defendant is.
“Not only is he a good friend to me I’ve witnessed him be a good friend to others and the kind of brother others would be lucky to have,” Kutcher wrote Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Charlaine Olmedo late last month as Masterson awaited sentencing on being found guilty of two counts of rape this spring. “As a role model, Danny has consistently been an excellent one. I attribute not falling into the typical Hollywood life of drugs directly to Danny,” Kutcher said as one of many high profile names like Mila Kunis advocating on Masterson’s behalf.
On September 7, 47-year-old Masterson was sentenced to 30 years behind bars by Judge Olmedo.

Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and other friends, family members and “That ’70s Show” castmates sent heartfelt letters seeking leniency for Danny Masterson, describing him as a strictly drug-free devoted family man – though the judge wound up giving him the maximum sentence of 30 years to life anyway.
Masterson was convicted in May on two counts of forcible rape for separate assaults alleged by two women around 2013. A first trial late last year resulted in a hung jury, but prosecutors re-tried the case and were more prepared to support the victims’ claims that they had been drugged prior to being attacked this time around.
Notably, the letters to Judge Charlaine F. Olmedo, from former castmates, professional collaborators and wife Bijou Phillips repeatedly highlight Masterson’s drug-free lifestyle – Kutcher even credits his friend for keeping drugs out of the question as the group of young actors rose to fame together.

With his trial concluded, That 70s Show star Danny Masterson has been sentenced to 30 years in jail for multiple rapes. The sentence, handed down by LA Superior Court Judge Charlaine Olmedo, passes the maximum sentence onto Masterson for his crimes. Masterson chose to remain silent during Thursday’s court session. However, Judge Charlaine Olmedo spoke to him directly about a “criminal justice system that you feel has failed you,” saying, “You are not the victim here …your actions 20 years ago were criminal.” After serving his time, Masterson must register as a sex offender, per the details of his punishment. As Masterson exited the courtroom, his wife, Bijou Phillips, and other family members quietly wept.
Today’s results come after Masterson was found guilty by an LA jury three months ago on two of three counts of sexual assault. The rapes transpired two decades ago, and the actor was granted 150 days credit for time already served.

Updated with defense statement: Danny Masterson was sentenced this morning to 30 years to life in prison for multiple rapes.
As the one-time That ’70s Show actor was for both of his trials on the criminal charges, Masterson was present in court today for the sentencing from Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Charlaine Olmedo. Permitted to address the court, Masterson chose not to speak Thursday — though he did confer with defense lawyer Phillip Cohen just before sentencing began.
Speaking to Masterson directly of a “criminal justice system that you feel has failed you,” Judge Olmedo told him that “you are not the victim here … your actions 20 years ago were criminal.” Masterson was informed that because of his sentence, he will have to register as a sex offender upon parole or release — which the ex-network star told the court he understood.

Actor Danny Masterson was found guilty on two counts of rape on Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles. He was not convicted of a third count – ten of the jurors out of the 12 found him not guilty of the third charge.
He is facing a sentence of 30 years to life in prison.
He was arrested and charged in 2020. In 2021, it was found that the evidence found against him was insufficient for him to be tried. Until his trial, he had been out on bail, which was set at $3.3 million. His trial began earlier in the year, in October, and he pleaded not guilty in January 2021.
After he was found guilty of the two counts, Materson was sent to jail where he will stay until August 4, the date of his next hearing.
The rapes occurred between 2001 and 2003. There were three different incidents involving three separate women, one of the accusers being his ex-girlfriend.

The jurors, seven women and five men, convicted the That ’70s Show actor on forcible rape charges involving two women. They were split on a charge relating to ex-girlfriend Chrissie Carnell-Bixler, who has publicly identified herself as one of Masterson’s accusers, with most favoring guilty, eight to four.

Three weeks after opening statements began, Danny Masterson’s rape retrial rested today. Yet, with the former That 70’s Show actor once again facing a trio of sexual assault charges and potentially years behind bars, the Church of Scientology is back in the courtroom spotlight.
After the prosecution ended its case early Friday and the defense called no witnesses, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Charlaine Olmedo said closing arguments would start Tuesday. That could see the jury deliberating behind closed doors by Wednesday and a verdict in the following days.

In “The Nutty Professor” (1963) or any other Jerry Lewis film, one might expect the...

Danny Masterson will be facing a retrial on multiple charges of rape a bit later than initially scheduled.
In a downtown hearing Wednesday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Charlaine Olmedo ordered the second criminal trial moved to get underway April 11 with jury selection.
Originally set for March 29, the move was to accommodate potential witnesses. Before the trial begins, various hearings are set for the case, with a motions hearing set for March 27-28.
Thursday’s Masterson hearing at the at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center occurred as a pre-sentencing hearing in Harvey Weinstein’s L.A. rape trial was about to start down the hall, and currently incarcerated former Scrubs EP Eric Weinberg was set elsewhere in the building to receive a preliminary hearing date in his multiple sex crimes case. Masterson was not in court in person today.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis went from playing teenage first loves Kelso and Jackie on "That '70s Show" to being married with two kids. But their path to finding love off screen wasn't exactly straightforward. In fact, Kutcher and Kunis's relationship timeline was full of twists early on - including Kutcher's marriage to Demi Moore and a brief period where they tried being friends with benefits.
While Kutcher and Kunis first met in 1998, the two didn't become romantically involved until they reconnected in 2012 after the former's split from Moore. However, he still managed to be the "Black Swan" actor's first kiss thanks to their time on "That '70s Show." In a 2001 interview with People, Kunis revealed that she had a crush on Kutcher when the show began, and their first onscreen kiss was her first kiss Irl (even though Kutcher had no idea at the time).

Ashton Kutcher has come out saying he hopes his former That ‘70s Show co-star Danny Masterson will “be found innocent of the charges brought against him.” While not an open defense of Masterson per-se, it does show a clear sign of support.
Ashton Kutcher is certainly not dismissing the multiple claims themselves, admitting he truly can’t know what happened regarding the sexual assault allegations against Danny Masterson. “Ultimately, I can’t know…I’m not the judge. I’m not the jury. I’m not the Da. I’m not the victim. And I’m not the accused. And so, in that case, I don’t have a space to comment…I just don’t know.”
Ashton Kutcher also expressed remorse that Danny Masterson’s child would inevitably find out about the allegations via the internet. “Someday, his kid is going to read about this.”

Ashton Kutcher has finally addressed the rape allegations against his That 70’s Show and The Ranch co-star Danny Masterson, whose character, Steven Hyde, has been unceremoniously unmentioned in Netflix‘s That 90’s Show reboot. In an interview with Esquire, Kutcher told the outlet that he still has a relationship with his former co-star, is friends with the actor’s brother, and keeps in touch with him as well. He also keeps Masterson’s 8-year-old daughter, Fianna, at the forefront of his mind before making his comment. “Someday, his kid is going to read about this,” Kutcher says before adding, “I wholesale feel for anybody who feels like they were violated in any way.” Although Kutcher wants Masterson “to be found innocent of the charges brought against him,” he also does not want the actor to get away with anything. He says the actor wants him to be innocent. “Ultimately, I can’t know.

Ashton Kutcher has revealed why he was angry after his ex-wife Demi Moore released her memoir.
The actor, who is now married to Mila Kunis, said he was frustrated with the timing of the book.
This was due to the fact he had “finally gotten to a place where the press had really laid off me and Mila and my life and my family”.
Moore released Inside Out in September 2019.
In it, she shared personal stories about her relationship with the actor, which started when he was 25. Moore was in her 40s at the time.
“I was f***ing pissed,” Butterfly Effect actor Kutcher said of the book in a new interview with Esquire.
He added that “the next day”, following its release, members of the media “were at my kids’ school”.
Despite his anger at the time, he maintains that he has no “hard feelings” for Moore, whom he...

Ashton Kutcher Says He Wants Danny Masterson to Be Innocent of Rape Allegations: “I Just Don’t Know”
Ashton Kutcher is speaking publicly for the first time about his former That ’70s Show and The Ranch co-star Danny Masteron, who was on trial last fall following multiple rape allegations from the early 2000s.
Speaking to Esquire in an interview published Tuesday, Kutcher discusses his vasculitis diagnosis, life on the front page of the tabloids, and his marriage and family with fellow actor and That ’70s Show star Mila Kunis.
Alongside that, the producer, venture investor and Thorn co-founder briefly discusses his response to the allegations against Masterson, who was charged in June 2020 with raping three women at his Hollywood Hills home between 2001 to 2003, a period in which he acted on the popular Fox series with Kutcher. He faced up to 45 years in prison if convicted, but his 2022 trial ended in a mistrial, with the case’s judge noting that the jury was “hopelessly deadlocked.”
