When Jacob Velazquez is finished auditioning for America’s Got Talent on Tuesday (NBC, 8/7c), you’ll be able to hear a pin drop in the Pasadena Civic Auditorium — and not because there’s no audience there to cheer him on.
The judges are absolutely floored by the young musician’s skills in TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek at the sixth week of Season 15 auditions. And why shouldn’t they be? For one thing, this isn’t Velazquez’s first time on national television, having already performed on shows like Harry Connick Jr.’s short-lived talk show Harry. His viral performances...

David Hewlett has built a solid career as a performer. Weve seen him in a few serious gems including Cube Splice Haunter Rise of the Planet of the Apes and popular scifi series Stargate SG1 Stargate Atlantis and Sgu Stargate Universe. Hes extremely solid in front of the camera. Debug the third project that hes written and directed will hopefully serve as a reminder that sometimes its best to stick with what youre proven to be skilled at and avoid the call to step outside of the good old comfort zone.

Looking at David Hewlett's work in front of the camera, it's safe to assume the actor turned writer/director is a fan of science fiction (and if he wasn't a fan at the beginning of his career, he is now) and it's little surprise that he'd eventually get around to making his own sci-fi movie. Debug is that movie; a sci-fi horror that includes quite a few "big ideas" including the concept that perhaps AI isn't always wrong and out to get us (as most other movies of this ilk suggest).
I recently had the great opportunity to chat with Hewlett about his career, his relationship with Vincenzo Natali, his love for sci-fi, how Debug came together and he shares some insight on why he's ready for the robot overlords.
Debug is available on DVD June 9.

For his new project, David Hewlett, best known for his work in front of the camera on pretty much every project Vincenzo Natali has ever directed as well as a long running stint on "Stargate: Atlantis," steps behind the camera to write and direct Debug.
