Aside from Always Sunny, Olson is known for her way too short-lived comedy, The Mick.
During TV upfront week, ABC announced that High Potential is one of the network's two dramas slated for this fall.
On Olson's side will be her detective partner, Daniel Sunjata.
Sunjata is known for his roles as Paul Briggs on Graceland and Franco Rivera on Rescue Me.
The procedural is based on the popular French series Haut Potentiel Intellectuel.
High Potential is written by Drew Goddard, who serves as an executive producer with Sarah Esberg for Goddard Textiles.
Rob Thomas serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Dan Etheridge, Pierre Laugier, Anthony Lancret, and Jean Nainchrik.
Alethea Jones is the director and executive producer. Olson serves as producer.

Coming off the heels of a successful debut season, the Freeform anthology series reset itself for season two, introducing new characters (and a new cast), a new story and new setting to its audiences.
“There’s a lot of pressure,” Triedman tells The Hollywood Reporter of joining the series for its sophomore run. “The fans are fierce. They spend a lot of time; it’s kind of amazing, just reading their theories. They look at everything.”
With producer credits on shows like Revenge and Devious Maids, Triedman stepped in as showrunner and executive producer after the...

In 2012, Eva Longoria wrapped up the eighth and final season of Desperate Housewives, and she had a decision to make about her future. “That last year of Housewives,” she says, “I remember getting every single show offered to me to star in … to star in … to star in …”
Amid the throes of the streaming era, it’s easy to forget the omnipresence of a network breakout like Housewives. Eva Longoria’s feature directorial debut, “Flamin’ Hot,” had audiences on fire at its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival on March 11 — while deftly navigating the controversy surrounding the film’s subject without ever addressing it by name.
The movie is based on the life of former Frito-Lay executive Richard Montañez, played by Jesse Garcia, who has said that he was responsible for inventing the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos brand when he was working as a janitor for the company.
Before “Flamin’ Hot” went into production in 2021, however, Montañez’s claims were disputed by a Los Angeles Times report in which Frito-Lay stated that an internal investigation turned up no evidence that “Richard was involved in any capacity in the Flamin’ Hot test market” in 1990. Instead, the Times’ story attributed a Frito-Lay factory in the Midwest with spearheading the Flamin’ Hot brand and credited Montañez for helping to bring to...

Eva Longoria's "Devious Maids" stirred up the Latinx community when it premiered nearly a decade ago. Here was this big, English-language cable show starring five Latinas but as the title reveals, they were all maids. So, did the Lifetime series replicate or challenge the stereotype that Latinas exist solely to serve better-off, Anglo families? The community hotly debated the show before it even came out, sounding off in the popular press and elsewhere.
"When you looked at the promotional materials that Lifetime put out for 'Devious Maids,' the actresses playing those roles were very sexualized in terms of their dress and in terms of their posture . . . And then also the maid again - why do we want to reify that?"
"It was largely dismissed for two reasons: the promotional materials and also the name of the show itself," says Dr. Jillain Báez, Associate Professor in the department of Africana,...

“I love Christmas movies,” declares Gloria Calderon Kellett, the creator and executive producer of “With Love” on Amazon Prime. “Christmas is a big time for Latinos and it was the height of the pandemic. We were sort of feeling, oh, we’re probably not going to be with our families this year. That mixed with this barrage on my Instagram feed of violence against Black and brown and queer and Asian people, plus wanting so much this salve that Christmas movies provide, but don’t often provide to people of color. This is such a feel-good, beautiful genre and it really doesn’t exist for us. I didn’t just present the Christmas episode to Amazon, I presented, ‘What would it look like if we pick up this family and we follow them over the course of a year?'” We talked to Calderon Kellett as part of our “Meet the Experts” TV showrunners panel.
