The Alexander brothers, Jt and Damon, have been hard at work since launching their Route 17 Entertainment production company earlier this year. And though they remain relatively unknown (hell, I’d never heard of them til today), their plan of independently producing three films for themselves to star in seems to be going pretty smoothly, if the caliber of actors they’ve been casting is any indication.
Their first production is a film with the delightful title Ten Cent Pistol, formerly known as The Go-Getters. The Alexander brothers will be playing the Brickhouse brothers, a couple of hoods deep in the organized crime of Los Angeles, California. Though they’re playing the leads, they’ve done well for themselves by snagging none other than Joe Mantegna to play the part of Punchy, a slick shyster lawyer. Even without knowing much more about the role, I for one am very excited to...

Jena Malone is finding her way into genre work more and more, as Deadline reports that the Sucker Punch star is set to lead the upcoming La noir thriller The Go-Getters. On the project, she’ll be joining Joe Mantegna, as well as relatively unknown brothers Jt and Damon Alexander.
Michael C. Martin has written and will serve as (debut) director of the crime drama, which tells the story of “two lifelong criminals who maneuver through the shady underbelly of Los Angeles in search of wealth, love and redemption.” Having scripted the Antoine Fuqua drama Brooklyn‘s Finest back in 2010, he seems to be familiar with the crime/drama realm of screenwriting.
As for Malone, she’ll be playing a “struggling actress who gets caught up in a heist planned by two underworld brothers.” Although her career has taken a more indie route over the years, she’s been keeping...

Interesting news since we just added an article about Malone's "Sucker Punch" co-star Abbie Cornish in talks to join the "Robocop" remake. Malone was in the 2012 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize-nominated "For Ellen" drama alongside Paul Dano and Jon Heder. The actress is currently in post-production phase for "The Wait" helmed and scripted by M. Blash. That film also includes Chloë Sevigny, Luke Grimes, Devon Gearhart, Michael O'Keefe and Josh Hamilton.
