Actress Katrina Bowden recalled her most-embarrassing moment on 30 Rock in her new uInterview.
The 2006-2013 half-hour comedy 30 Rock, inspired by the behind-the-scenes antics at Saturday Night Live, revolves around Liz Lemon, the head writer for a live sketch comedy series in New York City.
One of her favorite memories from her time on the show was also her most embarrassing. “I remember in one of the earlier seasons,” she told uinterview founder Erik Meers, “there was a scene where they were filming in Kenneth’s apartment for the first time. Jack McBrayer took me around the set because he had to bring some personal family photos. They had to decorate it and everything, and he wanted us to see. I was so much younger than everybody on that cast; I think I was 18 at the time, or maybe 19, and I knew he had had these family pictures that...

Gaby Hoffmann has learned a lot about herself over the years, having grown up as a child actor and eventually leaving the industry only to return years later.
The Emmy-nominated actress recently opened up to The Independent about her comfort with nude scenes in movies and TV shows as well as the surrounding discourse compared to violence on screen.
“I’ve always been very comfortable being naked. So long as a woman is not being made to feel uncomfortable or isn’t being exploited, it shouldn’t be a big deal,” Hoffmann said. “I’m always shocked that nudity is such a big topic when it seems like in every other film someone gets their head blown off. Do we really need to talk about tits and vaginas? Let’s talk about AK47s, pistols, and the kind of absolutely revolting violence that is not just normal, but expected.”

Allison Williams and Ebon Moss-Bachrach had one of television’s most startling scenes during the original run of Girls. In it, Moss-Bachrach chomped on her hindquarters with a gusto usually reserved for an Italian beef sandwich in his current show, The Bear.
Not everyone was on board with the scene or the show when it first aired. But now, the series has been rediscovered by Gen Z viewers, and they’re more attuned to Williams’s character, Marnie Michaels, and the show’s vibe than previous generations.
The actress reflected on that along with her costar in a recent Vanity Fair video.
“My theory is what was coded as selfishness among Millennials is now coded as self-care and just being aware of what you need, and advocating for your needs and standing up for yourself,” Williams said in the video. “And so Gen Z is like, ‘No, we get her.

Allison Williams is reclaiming the infamous legacy of her loved-to-be-hated “Girls” character Marnie.
During a video for Vanity Fair alongside former co-star Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Williams credited the resurgence of the HBO series for putting a new light on her character. “Girls” ran for six seasons from 2012 to 2017 and has recently become a viral TikTok rewatch.
“The whole show got a lot of flak when it was airing for everyone being too selfish and self-centered,” Williams said. “My theory is, what was coded as selfishness among millennials is now coded as self-care. Allison Williams says her Girls character — along with the whole show — is now “resonant in a new way” as younger audiences discover the series on social media.
Williams played Marnie, one of the four New York City-based protagonists of HBO’s Girls, which ran for six seasons from 2012 to 2017.
“The whole show got a lot of flack when it was airing for everyone being too selfish and self-centered,” Williams told her former co-star, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, in a new video for Vanity Fair. Moss-Bachrach played Desi, Marnie’s musician boyfriend-turned-husband-turned-ex.
Now, both actors noted, many younger audiences have picked up the show for the first time via TikTok and other social media, and received the series in a more positive light. Marnie, in particular, has been retroactively embraced by audiences after being dismissed as overly cringeworthy and annoying. Williams says she feels the shift is because her character was “before her time.

Allison Williams and Ebon Moss-Bachrach revealed that some of the songs they performed together as Marnie and Desi on Girls were Kelly Clarkson rejects written by Jack Antonoff.
The two actors revealed this piece of deep trivia in a new video for Vanity Fair, in which they reunited and reminisced about their time on the show together. Moss-Bachrach joined Girls in Season Three, with his character Desi striking a romantic and musical relationship with Williams’ Marnie; over the next three seasons though, their relationship and marriage fell apart, alongside their musical dreams.

Lindsay Lohan has gained quite a reputation in Hollywood. While she has been entering the limelight in positive ways in recent years, there was a time when this was not the case. After her Mean Girls fame, she was involved in quite a few controversies that tarnished her image in more ways than one.
Lindsay Lohan in Mean Girls | Paramount Pictures
Before starring in the classic Rachel McAdams film, Lohan was regarded as a Hollywood sweetheart. This is why it is quite interesting to find out that she was almost sued by an Oscar-nominated actress after she decided to go back on a commitment.
During the filming of Bette Midler’s autobiographical sitcom, Bette Lohan walked away from the project, causing it to come undone, and the Hollywood legend looks back in regret.

Hollywood constantly brings a new generation of stars to the horror genre in an effort to draw in younger viewers and provide an abundance of thrills. One example of this is Tarot, the latest horror film from Sony Pictures that stars a number of well-known up-and-coming actors. The cast features Jacob Batalon from Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avantika Vandanapu, the breakout cast member from Mean Girls.
Well, Tarot has caused quite a stir in the horror community as it heads to digital platforms much sooner than expected. Despite earning over 4 times its budget of $8 million, many horror fans are feeling slighted by the decision to release the film online so quickly.

This week, the most-watched YouTube video in Korea is by the girl group aespa (에스파) with their hit song ‘Supernova.’ This track has quickly become a sensation in Korea and, like much of K-pop, is poised to take the rest of the world by storm.
Aespa consists of four members: two Koreans, one Japanese, and one Chinese. Since their debut in 2019, they’ve been enchanting us with their music. The group’s name, “aespa,” is a combination of “æ,” which stands for “Avatar X Experience,” and the English word “aspect,” representing a duality. The name reflects their unique concept of meeting avatars and experiencing a new world.
Earlier this year in April, aespa pre-released the single “Illusion,” and they will be dropping their second mini-album titled “Girls” in June, alongside their second album “Life’s Too Short.” Additionally, aespa has joined the ranks of Warner Records, becoming the first K-pop group signed by the American label.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach may soon be a household name due to his standout supporting role as Richie Jerimovich on the hit FX (for Hulu) television series “The Bear.” And if that doesn’t do it, perhaps his recently announced casting as Ben Grimm aka The Thing in Marvel’s film version of “The Fantastic Four” will.
Of course, there are some who have been all-in on Moss-Bachrach since his performance as Desi on HBO’s “Girls.” Those playing catchup on his career should perhaps start with an even-earlier role that stands out for many now in retrospect — a brief appearance as Frederick the bellboy in Wes Anderson’s “The Royal Tenenbaums.” With a mop of floppy curls under a round hotel cap, Moss-Bachrach was only 23 at the time of filming, but held his own against scene partner and legendary screen actor Gene Hackman.
“He’s a pro,” said Moss-Bachrach of Hackman during a profile in GQ.

Adam Driver has had a very interesting career in the industry starting with her supporting roles in the 2010s. After his on-screen debut in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, the actor continued improving himself with his supporting performances in Girls, Lincoln, Frances Ha, and Inside Lleywn Davis. The actor has now become a great leading man in dramas as well as blockbusters.

One of his most entertaining supporting roles was in the 2012 rom-com Gayby, where he played the role of Neil, the co-worker of Matthew Wilkas’s character. The golden era of VHS was ideally suited to the Girls with Guns subgenre as video sleeves of attractive women armed to the teeth would invariably be enticing to the target audience. In addition, a large number would mix martial arts with the then current trend for the bullet ballets that was “Heroic Bloodshed”. Female assassins would frequent the plots riffing off “La Femme Nikita” and “The Killer” which leads us to “Dreaming the Reality”, which was recently released as a Blu ray media book in Germany after being absent from home release for some time. Does it escape from the pile of cheap exploitation flicks or return to obscurity? Only one way to find out.

On a hike with his snacks of choice — his fiancé Noah Galvin and chocolate mushrooms — Ben Platt saw the light.
“I was feeling really joyful and really present with [Noah] and I think he could really sense that. We were having one of those deep talks on our walk and he was asking me to describe what was allowing me to feel that way, and I started to talk about what it feels like to be in our relationship and my love for him and I started to envision a physical manifestation of what it might look like inside my head,” Platt tells The Hollywood Reporter.
“Because I am super anxiety prone and a very stressed person generally, I imagine there’s lots of jagged edges and lots of sharp things poking out and prodding, and when I envision what love does, it doesn’t necessarily make those things disappear or replace them.

Both on the awards circuit and in the public consciousness, HBO is widely regarded as among the first Hollywood heavyweights to recognize that television, as a medium, had the power to deliver sprawling, large scale stories on a smaller screen. From HBO’s ascent in the late 1990s through its dragon-aided roar across the 2010s, the network’s original series tackled universal stories, stretching across continents and decades.

Fiona Apple is the go-to songwriter for exorcising your romantic demons, ruing the ones you loved, the ones who didn’t love you back, the ones you pushed away amid yet another freefall of your own design. She’s also the go-to singer for three studio comedy auteurs: Michael Showalter, Judd Apatow, and Paul Feig.

Netflix is throwing a last-minute Emmys contender into the already crowded limited series field with “Eric,” a psychological thriller that premieres May 30. The streaming service released a trailer for the six-episode series on Thursday.
Emmy winner Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Vincent, a puppeteer for a children’s TV show in early 1980s New York. He struggles with addiction. After his 9-year-old son, Edgar, disappears one morning while walking to school, Vincent decides to turn the boy’s drawing of a monster named Eric into a real puppet and put him on the show, in a last-ditch attempt to send a message to his son. Netflix describes the series as an “emotional crime drama.”
There’s a lot going on in the show. Here’s how creator Abi Morgan described it to Tudum: “‘Eric’ is a deep dive into the ’80s Big Apple, grappling with rising crime rates, internal corruption, endemic racism,...

2021's Fear Street trilogy proved to be a major success for Netflix, and amid persistent rumors that the streamer might be planning to develop more adaptations of R.L. Stine's work, we got confirmation that a Fear Street movie was in the works last November.
Netflix recently announced the full cast and a synopsis for Fear Street: Prom Queen (or Fear Street '88: Prom Queen as it's titled in this video), and the streamer has now revealed that filming is officially underway.
We also have a brief behind-the-scenes teaser featuring several members of the cast chatting about the show as they prepare to shoot their scenes. Something tells us their characters won't be having quite as much fun as Prom Night progresses.

I have enjoyed watching Charlie Day in movies like Horrible Bosses and its sequel, Fist Fight, Vacation, and others. I like his screen presence and find his comedic performances to be very amusing… and yet I still haven’t gotten around to watching a single episode of his sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which is currently sixteen seasons deep. I’m going to check that show out one of these days. In the meantime, Deadline reports that Day is set to star in a murder mystery called Kill Me, and he’s being joined in the cast by Allison Williams of Get Out, M3GAN, and Girls.
Written and directed by Peter Warren (The Auteur), Kill Me will see Day taking on the role of Jimmy, who wakes up in a bathtub after having tried to kill himself. Or, at least, that’s what it looks like to his friends and family.

It took Richard Shepard years to get out of “movie jail” after he made “The Linguini Incident,” the nearly-forgotten 1991 crime comedy starring David Bowie and Rosanna Arquette. But now the film is getting a second chance, with a series of screenings and an upcoming Blu-ray release.
Just about everything went wrong with the production that could go wrong, Shepard recalls. “I made this movie when I was 25 — and I was no genius at 25,” admits the director, who went on to helm features including “The Perfection” as well as TV series like Lena Dunham’s HBO comedy “Girls.”
Unlike Dunham, who was “in complete control of her artistic self” at that age, “I was not,” says Shepard.
But when his original co-producer, Sarah Jackson, suggested he try to rerelease a director’s cut of the scrappy indie caper about two restaurant employees who decide to rob their bosses, Shepard jumped at...

Legendary Academy Award-nominated screenwriter and playwright David Mamet said that his children aren’t nepo babies and that they have achieved their success due to their talent. His daughter Zosia Mamet is best known for starring on “Girls” alongside news anchor Brian Williams’ daughter Allison Williams, Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke’s daughter Jemima Kirke and creator Lena Dunham, daughter of a pair of New York City artists.
Promoting his memoir “Everywhere an Oink Oink” over the weekend at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, David conceded that his daughters — including Zosia’s sister Clara Mamet — learned from spending time on set with their father, according to the L.A. Times. He noted that he felt gratified by that.
Speaking particularly of the successful Zosia, Mamet argued that his daughters haven’t benefited from any form of privilege. “They earned it by merit,” he said.

Keep reading to find out more…“I only did eight cycles of IVF, but that doesn’t include the amount of IUIs I did and every other kind of imaginable treatments that you could imagine for fertility,” Adrienne shared with People. “So it was a pretty tough six years of trying to have my son.”

Shortly after welcoming Ever, Adrienne explained why she kept her surrogacy journey a secret.

Legendary Hollywood screenwriter David Mamet is no fan of the entertainment industry’s efforts to drive greater diversity, equity and inclusion (Dei) in its ranks.
“Dei is garbage,” Mamet told the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books on Sunday during a session with Matt Brennan. Mamet, who was on hand to talk about his memoir Everywhere an Oink Oink: An Embittered, Dyspeptic, and Accurate Report of Forty Years in Hollywood, added the industry’s Dei efforts amounted to “fascist totalitarianism,” according to an account in the Times.
The playwright and director, who has worked in Hollywood since the 1980s and is known for his trademark rapid-fire script dialogue, did not shy away from criticism during an informal conversation at USC’s Newman Recital Hall.
“There’s no room for individual initiative,” Mamet said of a film industry having experienced “growth, maturity, decay and death,” especially in the wake of the recent Hollywood writers strike.

David Mamet is against the initiatives in Hollywood to create diversity, equity, and inclusion, referred to as Dei.
“Dei is garbage,” the author said at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, as the Los Angeles Times reported. “It’s fascist totalitarianism.”
Mamet has a particular gripe about the inclusion rules the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has implemented for films to be considered in the Oscar Best Picture category.
“I can’t give you a stupid f***ing statue unless you have 7% of this, 8% of that … it’s intrusive,” Mamet said.

He also said, “The [film industry] has little business improving everybody’s racial understanding as does the fire department.”
Regarding nepotism in Hollywood, Mamet doesn’t think his kids have benefitted from his accomplishments in the industry and rather says they learned from being on set, earning them a spot.

Quentin Tarantino loves film. Few filmmakers can boast such a wide knowledge of movies, especially the B-films and grindhouse works that have inspired his greatest cinematic accomplishments. Tarantino also loves to talk about future projects. Put those two passions together and you get a guy who often teases movies he never actually ends up making.
Of course, it’s not always talk. Many of his best movies, including Kill Bill and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood started as ideas that he blabbed about to anyone who would listen. But while that approach builds excitement, it also sets up fans for disappointment, such as when it was revealed that he had abandoned The Movie Critic, which for months was teased as the director’s 10th and final film.
Now including The Movie Critic, here are the most intriguing Tarantino projects that never got made.

The UK’s most successful presenting duo, Ant and Dec, signed off their Saturday evening primetime live show after 20 years, going out in style and bidding emotional farewell.

Update: More than 300 Jewish creatives — including eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken, “SNL” star Sarah Sherman, actor and documentarian Alex Winter and “Seinfeld” writer Larry Charles — have added their names to the list of signatories of an open letter in support of Jonathan Glazer’s Oscars speech.
The number of signees now sits at 492, having more than tripled since Variety first published the April 5 letter, which criticized the attacks on Glazer for being a “dangerous distraction” from the mounting death toll in Gaza while also contributing to the “suppression of free speech and dissent.”

A decade into her solo career, Beyoncé effectively evaded irrelevancy by wresting control of her own narrative. After her 2011 album 4 failed to produce a Top 10 hit—to date, her only album to do so—the singer began dropping albums without any pre-release promotion, sidestepping chart expectations and reimagining the traditional pop album release strategy. Since then, she’s done few interviews and often glides into awards shows donning dark shades and a straight face, shrewdly creating a superstar mystique in the vein of Michael Jackson and Prince.
That approach, thankfully, has been accompanied by some of Beyoncé’s most creative, political, and inspired work to date. Her 2016 visual album Lemonade drew on her personal experiences as a Black woman to comment on feminism and racism in the Me Too and Black Lives Matter era, while its follow-up, 2022’s Renaissance, kept the focus squarely on the music, inspired by and dedicated...

Yes, a female James Bond has been over a half-century in the making.
Before Lashana Lynch briefly donned the 007 title in “No Time to Die,” the film adaptation of “Dr. No,” a woman was in talks to lead the franchise 50 years prior.
In Nicholas Shakespeare’s upcoming biography of Bond author Ian Fleming, titled “Ian Fleming: The Complete Man,” it’s revealed that original “Casino Royale” producer Gregory Ratoff had imagined a woman in the titular lead role. In fact, Oscar-winning actress Susan Hayward was in Ratoff’s mind to take the part.
Prior to “Casino Royale,” the two Bond films had floundered with “Thunderball” and “Casino Royale” receiving poor reviews, hence the proposed gender-swap.
Shakespeare writes in the biography, “Since the mid-1950s, many well-known actors had been approached. Gregory Ratoff had the arresting idea of having Bond played by a woman, Susan Hayward. Ian had entertained several possibilities,...

You may remember Boys State, the 2020 documentary in which filmmakers Amanda McBaine and Jesse Moss embedded themselves with the decades-old program that lets teenagers get a taste of the political process. Watching as hundreds of young Texans played out mock versions of campaigning, strategizing, stumping and either sticking to their ideological guns or compromising their values for votes, you could easily see the reflection of the real thing in miniature. These politicos-in-training were learning just how miraculous, how malleable and how broken our 21st century system for policy-making is, courtesy...

Netflix's shadiest horror franchise is targeting its next set of victims. The slasher series "Fear Street" debuted back in 2021 as three full-length movies set in the fictional but aptly-named town of Shadyside, based on author R.L. Stine's popular "Cheerleaders" sub-trilogy within the "Fear Street" novels. The mega-sized special event was released over the course of three consecutive weeks on the streaming service (check out /Film's spoiler review of the movies here), pulled in a ton of viewers, earned consistently high praise among critics, and served up all sorts of gory kills and supernatural chills -- along with one heck of a memorable kill by a particularly deadly bread slicer. Fans have been clamoring for more sequels ever since and rumors of new movies have swirled since at least 2022, but now we've heard straight from the studio that another release has officially been greenlit.

Zackary Drucker will direct the upcoming biopic about Andy Warhol superstar Candy Darling starring Hari Nef. John Cameron Mitchell also joins the untitled film about the transgender icon as executive producer.
It was previously announced that Nef (“Barbie”) will star in the movie.
The film traces Darling’s childhood in Long Island through her years alongside underground icons Holly Woodlawn and Jackie Curtis in Warhol’s Factory scene, and her influence on musicians including Lou Reed, the Velvet Underground and Patti Smith. She was immortalized in popular songs including Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side” and The Velvet Underground’s “Candy Says.”
Darling also starred in Warhol’s cult film “Women In Revolt” before she died of leukemia in 1974 at age 29.
“I’ve dedicated my life and career to amplifying the history of trans and queer icons, and their impact in shaping art and culture for everyone,” Drucker said in a statement.

Judd Apatow is opening up about the current state of television and why he finds it “scary” that Netflix can license shows from HBO.
The writer-director-producer told Vulture in a recent interview that licensing pacts between streaming giants is just going to lead to viewers getting “fewer new shows.”
“I’m of two minds,” Apatow explained. “There’s a part of me that’s an audience member: I’ll go back and rewatch Deadwood or NYPD Blue or any of the David Milch shows. I understand why people like the comfort food of television.”
The This Is 40 writer-director continued, “But it’s a scary thing as a creator of television, because of all the streamers going, ‘Wait a second. We don’t need to spend $200 million on a new show. We can just bring back Barnaby Jones.’ They’re going to do it, then you’ll get fewer new shows.
