Hostel is coming to television.
Paul Giamatti has closed a deal to star in a Hostel TV series with the franchise’s Eli Roth, Chris Briggs and Mike Fleiss all returning for the project from Fifth Season, the studio behind Apple TV+’s Severance.
The Hostel show, which is currently in development and does not yet have a platform attached, is described as being a “modern adaptation” and an “elevated thriller” that’s also a “reinvention” of the horror franchise that launched in 2006 and spawned two sequels.
Roth and Briggs will pen the script, with the former set to direct. Roth, Briggs and Fleiss will all executive produce the series.
The original movie revolved around three backpackers who were headed to a Slovak city that promised to meet their hedonistic expectations, with no idea of the hell that awaited them.
Giamatti will star in a key role, with character details under wraps.

For Kevin Kane, the endgame never wavered once he set a goal to move to New York in the early aughts to pursue a career in acting. He’ll tell you that luck seemed to always be on his side, as the actor from Philadelphia found work soon after his arrival to the Big Apple.
Kane was soon thrusted into the world of Dick Wolf Entertainment with small roles on Law & Order and Chicago P.D. This would eventually lead to his current recurring role as Detective Terry Bruno on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which aired its season 25 finale on May 16.
But early on, while studying acting at the William Esper Studio, Kane would formulate a lifelong bond and friendship with a fellow classmate named Amy Schumer. Together, they would not only hone their skills in drama and comedy, but also sharpen their writing, producing and whatever it would...

Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer have scrapped a long-in-the-works but never fully realized project in which they were set to play sisters.
Schumer broke the news in a new interview with Variety, saying, “I don’t think it will ever happen. It was just like, life kept going. My family was going through a rough time. I don’t want to say any more than that.”
Lawrence added: “Now that we’re older, a sister comedy might not resonate as much. But we have every intention of working together.”

Amy Schumer was in the zone. This was in March, when she was filming on the street in Brooklyn for her upcoming movie “Kinda Pregnant,” a comedy about a woman who pretends to be knocked up for attention. In one take, Schumer emerged from a subway station while answering a phone call — and was interrupted by a stranger shouting at her from the sidewalk: “Fuck you, Amy Schumer! You’re a Zionist! You love genocide!”
Disruptions of the four-letter variety aren’t unusual in a raucous place like New York, though they’re usually less pointed. Schumer didn’t break character, refusing to stop working as the woman carried on. The actress finished the scene finally, packed up her stuff and went home to her husband and their 4-year-old son.
“It didn’t even raise my heart rate,” Schumer says over brunch at a cozy Brooklyn Heights tavern a couple days later.

Getting ready to make your 2024 Emmy predictions for Best Comedy Supporting Actor? Be sure to take a tour of our photo gallery that showcases the leading contenders. Reigning victor Ebon Moss-Bachrach (“The Bear”) is generally expected to retain his crown and thus become the 18th man to clinch this particular award more than once and the 13th to do so twice consecutively.
Whereas Moss-Bachrach was his program’s sole featured male nominee last year, he could very likely be joined in the upcoming lineup by three of his cast mates: Lionel Boyce, Matty Matheson, and Oliver Platt. All of said actors have never been recognized in this category before, but Platt has five outside notices under his belt, including a 2023 guest one for “The Bear.”

Amy Schumer is entirely on-brand in an interview, which is to say utterly without pretense. She’s free of makeup, her blonde hair tied up behind her head and wearing a T-shirt that reads “Ask Your Mom.” It’s how she likes to present to the world, whether it be in her career or personal lives (which often tend to intersect). She’s here on Zoom to talk about the 10-episode second season of her semi-autobiographical Hulu romantic dramedy “Life and Beth,” during which she fictionally, but pointedly, addresses two subjects close to her heart: her Judaism and her real-life husband’s autism spectrum disorder, or Asd. This kind of candor is simply what she does. “I’ve always been like this,” she explains. “I don’t really know why. I think I’ve just always had a low threshold for small talk and so I can’t really help it.

Amy Schumer revealed on Friday she has been diagnosed with Cushing syndrome, a condition caused by excessive cortisol. The news comes on the heels of Schumer’s response to fan comments that her face appeared puffier than normal.
“I feel reborn,” she told Jessica Yellin in the journalist’s News Not Noise newsletter. The actress went on to explain, “There are a few types of Cushing. Some that can be fatal, require brain surgery or removal of adrenal glands.”
Schumer said she was doing press for her Life & Beth season two, the Hulu series she created and stars in, while also undergoing extensive medical testing, “in Mri machines four hours at a time, having my veins shut down from the amount of blood drawn and thinking I may not be around to see my son grow up.”

On Valent Day, Amy Schumer visited “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” as part of her tour promoting her Hulu series “Life & Beth,” but many viewers and people online were more focused on her face. Schumer addressed the speculation about her health in an Instagram post the next day, and in an interview published by Jessica Yellin’s News Not Noise on Friday, she revealed she’s been diagnosed with exogenous Cushing syndrome — and she credited the online reactions in part for being why she got checked out.
Schumer told Yellin that she underwent hours-long Mri scans while promoting her show and “having my veins shut down from the amount of blood drawn and thinking I may not be around to see my son grow up.” The actress found out that she has a type of Cushing that “will just work itself out.”

Life & Beth season one was path-breaking as it took the viewers through the life of Beth and the relationship she shares with her family and friends. The show took the realistic route when it came to the direction and writing, and it worked in the show’s favor. Season two was a lukewarm affair in terms of the writing and direction, though a lot more subjects were discussed and expanded upon.
Each episode of the second season discusses each character and their relationship with Beth. The first season was about Beth’s work and the amount of time she spent developing her career with the company that sold wine. The second season was all about her interpersonal relationships and the amount of time she was willing to spend with her family, friends, and her boyfriend.
At the end of season 2, it was revealed that Beth had given birth to a boy through a C-section.

Season one of Amy Schumer’s Life & Beth was an interesting comeback for the comedian. It was one of the many shows that was primarily about women and their lives after the age of 35 and dealing with adulthood. The first season of the show was released in 2022, and the second one was released on February 16, 2024. This Hulu Original show covers a lot about the lives women lead, and it tries to come at things with a realistic approach.
The second season has ten episodes, and the runtime of each one goes from twenty-one minutes to thirty-five, spanning two different timelines. The first timeline has Beth, her friends, and John as adults dealing with their lives. The second timeline is a flashback that shows a teenage Beth dealing with boyfriend troubles and protecting her younger sister Ann. The second season begins with Beth and John dating and getting to know each other deeply.

Life & Beth season one received lukewarm responses, but the show captured the essence of women in their mid-thirties trying to find a balance between having a successful career and a productive personal life. The last season ended with Beth and John coming together as a couple and acknowledging their love for each other. Beth, along with her sister Ann, threw a proper send-off for their deceased mother Jane by hosting a lunch. Ann and Beth were on good terms by the end of Life & Beth season 1, and they were looking forward to coming closer as a family.
Spoilers Ahead
Why Was Beth Looking Forward To Her Date With John?
Beth and John officially began dating. Beth was working full-time for a rich man named Cole, and John was still a farmer. All the vanity around each other had vanished, but Beth somehow expected their first date would be romantic.

With Life & Beth season two, Amy Schumer is no longer worried about spoilers. After all, this story is in the details.
The follow-up season to her semi-autobiographical Hulu dramedy, which launched all 10 episodes on Thursday, centers on the romantic relationship between Beth (Schumer) and John (played by Michael Cera), who — as the trailer revealed — get married early on in the new season. As the season progresses, Beth starts to notice certain behaviors in John and suggests that they check them out, together. Early in their marriage, John is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (Asd).
According to Schumer, talking about John’s diagnosis on the day that the new season launches will not ruin the viewing experience. “They really put everything in the trailer, which at first I was like, ‘Um, excuse me?'” recalls the creator, writer and director with a laugh. “And they were like, ‘Well, it will...

Comedian Amy Schumer addressed criticisms of her facial appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The View through an Instagram post on Thursday.
Schumer, who was promoting the second season of her self-created series, Life & Beth, acknowledged the concerns raised by some fans who believed her face looked swollen in the interviews. In her Instagram post, Schumer wrote, “Thank you so much for everyone’s input about my face!”
She continued, “I’ve enjoyed feedback and deliberation about my appearance as all women do for almost 20 years. And you’re right it is puffier than normal right now.”
She candidly attributed the puffiness to her battle with endometriosis, an autoimmune disease that she encouraged all women to educate themselves about.
Highlighting the historical underrepresentation and limited research on women’s bodies, Schumer recommended the book All in Her Head by Elizabeth Comen as a resource for further understanding.

The show was created and written by Amy Schumer, and it is the coming-of-age story of an adult who is struggling to deal with the memories of her mother and her teenage years. The first season of the show begins with Beth being an employee of a wine company, working alongside her boyfriend Matt.
