Jay Mohr is set to star in CBS' untitled Kohan/Mutchnick comedy pilot.
Meanwhile, Josh Gad and Ayda Field have become last-minute additions to Fox's comedy pilot Back to You, as two roles on the project, formerly titled Action News, are being recast.
The Kohan/Mutchnick project, from Warner Bros. TV and KoMut Entertainment, is an office-buddy comedy about two friends and writing partners -- one straight (Mohr) and one gay Brian Austin Green) -- and the women (Jessica Capshaw, Vanessa Lengies) who work with them. Mohr's character is a guy's guy who loves sports and reads a lot.
Mohr's casting stems from his talent holding deal with CBS. He also recurs on the network's drama Ghost Whisperer, from ABC TV Studio and CBS Paramount Network TV.
If the Kohan/Mutchnick pilot doesn't go to series, Mohr will segue into a development deal with CBS Par TV. He also will become a regular on Ghost if the show is picked up for a third season.
