Erich Anderson, who was sometimes also credited as E. Erich Anderson, racked up over 100 credits during a screen acting career that stretched from 1983 into the 2020s, but he may be best known for playing the role of Rob in the 1984 slasher classic Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. A character out for revenge, Rob looked like he had a shot at being able to take down hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhees for good… but when Rob finally caught up with Jason, things did not go well for him at all. Among Friday the 13th fans, Rob has become a favorite due to the fact that he seems so cool and capable at first, but then whiffs his shot at vengeance in a major way. Sadly, the actor who brought Rob to the screen is no longer with us. Erich Anderson’s wife Saxon Trainor has confirmed through social media that he...

The same idea has already been a crucial part of another supernatural show from the 2000s, and many fans think it’s a big opportunity for a crossover.
Thanks to its compelling yet comedy-oriented plot, Not Dead Yet revives a good old cinematic tradition to push the real world and the beyond together in all the forms possible.
Though the show’s approach may be entirely renovated for the modern audience, the idea is in fact not — and some fans think that it may be a good reason for the Not Dead Yet plot diving into another story with a similar zest.
Not Dead Yet stars Gina Rodriguez as Nell Serrano whose dream of becoming a famous writer seems shattered by the reality where she calls off her wedding with a long-time boyfriend, comes back to Los Angeles after living in London for a long time and ends up writing obituaries.

Small towns hide secrets. They’re typically really good at it too because the smaller the town it seems the darker the secret they are trying to hide. If you grew up in a tiny Midwest town like I did you would know this to be gospel. Southern noir or Southern Gothic is a special sort of genre that when done right shines a sinister light on those secrets. Add some good old good vs evil to the mix and the supernatural and you’ve got something special. In the case of todays series you had the best of all of these mixed into a twisted, beautiful, epic masterpiece that came happened to be co-launched by a master of horror named Sam Raimi and a gent more known for solving mysteries than writing them… a Hardy Boy himself Shaun Cassidy. The show is one of my favorite TV series of all time,...

MGM+ has renewed sci-fi mystery thriller series Beacon 23 for a second season. The eight-episode season 2 will premiere on the streaming service in April. The news is not a surprise. The series already had been renewed by Spectrum and AMC, where it originally had been greenlit, and MGM+ is now formally committing to air it.
Starring Stephan James and Lena Headey in Season 1, Beacon 23, based on the best-selling book by Hugh Howey, is created and executive produced by Zak Penn.
Set in the farthest reaches of the Milky Way, Season 1 followed Aster (Headey), a government agent, and Halan (James), a stoic ex-military man, whose fates became entangled after they found themselves trapped together inside one of many Beacons that served as a lighthouse for intergalactic travelers. In Season Two, Beacon 23 is now little more than a prison with Aleph onboard, and The Artifact provides more questions than answers.

We can all picture Jennifer Love Hewitt in her big screen breakout role, screaming, “What are you waiting for?!” And that’s not too far off from what she thinks about reprising some of her most memorable characters: Julie James in I Know What You Did Last Summer and Melinda Gordon in Ghost Whisperer.
Appearing on Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum (via Screen Rant), Jennifer Love Hewitt showed an interest in returning to her most beloved characters if the opportunities ever came up. On Julie James — the protagonist of the first two I Know What You Did Last Summer movies who helped Jlh give Neve Campbell a run for her money in the late ‘90s as the reigning scream queen — she said she would “one hundred percent” be on board. “Yeah. I loved making those movies.” Now here’s hoping she and Freddie Prinze Jr. can return for a fourth installment.

Tru Calling arrived on the small screen at a pivotal time for fans of genre fare in 2003.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer had just ended, so there was a desire from networks to get its most recognizable cast on new projects.
Eliza Dushku could have continued playing Buffy's onetime adversary in a planned spinoff, but instead of choosing the predictable, the actress opted to take a hard left turn to steer her career in a different direction.
The series starred Dushku as Tru Davies, a young woman who takes a job at a morgue when her internship falls through.
Yes, there's far more to the plot than that, with the unique spin that found the deceased waking up from the dead and asking her to help them.
That allowed Tru to relive the day to find out what happened to them and to try to change the events.

Barry Newman, who somehow made souped-up muscle cars look even cooler in the 1971 film “Vanishing Point” and starred in the titular role on NBC’s legal drama “Petrocelli,” has died. He was 92 years old.

Jon Seda is a talented actor who has been active in Hollywood since the early ’90s. Seda has acted in a wide variety of TV shows and film projects – but to many fans, he will always be best known as Detective Antonio Dawson in the procedural drama Chicago P.D.
Seda originated the character in 2012, going on to develop a strong association with the Chicago television franchise. For years, he was a fan-favorite on the show before departing abruptly in 2019. For years, fans have been hoping that Seda would return to Chicago P.D. – but in light of a recent real estate move, it seems increasingly unlikely that the veteran actor will be stepping into Antonio Dawson’s shoes again.

Today’s monster kids may know Milo Manheim from his role as Zed in the Disney movies Z-o-m-b-i-e-s, Z-o-m-b-i-e-s 2, and Z-o-m-b-i-e-s 3… but now Manheim have joined the cast of a genre movie that the monster kids probably won’t be allowed to watch for a while. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Manheim is the latest addition to the cast of director Eli Roth’s long-awaited slasher Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is based on the faux trailer Roth created for the Robert Rodriguez / Quentin Tarantino double feature Grindhouse, which was released way back in 2007. Roth has been wanting to make a feature version of Thanksgiving for sixteen years and even wrote the screenplay with Jeff Rendell (who played the homicidal pilgrim in the trailer) a dozen years ago. Mark Pedowitz, former Chairman and CEO of the CW, and his production company Pine Street Entertainment have signed with CAA for representation. The move comes as Pedowitz contemplates his future as a producer after exiting the CW in October, following Nexstar’s acquisition of the broadcast network.
Pedowitz originally launched Pine Street Entertainment in 2010, following his exit from Disney after 19 years — including a stint as President of ABC Studios — with a first-look deal at Warner Bros. TV. The next year, he returned to the executive ranks when he was recruited to run the CW but his brief first tenure as a producer resulted in a couple of pilots and one series, David E. Kelley’s CBS comedy The Crazy Ones starring Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Jennifer Love Hewitt was one of the biggest teen stars of the nineties. First making a splash on Party of Five, she parlayed that success into a solid career in features, leading the teen horror slasher classic I Know What You Did Last Summer (as well as its less beloved sequel), the comedy cult classic Can’t Hardly Wait. Her fame carried over into the 2000s, with her showing impeccable comic timing in the underrated Heartbreakers opposite Sigourney Weaver, Gene Hackman, and the late Ray Lotta. She even teamed up with Jackie Chan in The Tuxedo. She also starred in not one but two Garfield movies (in which Bill Murray voiced the titular feline) and also had a role opposite Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin in the notoriously troubled Shortcut to Happiness, in which she played a sexy version of the devil.

Actor Julian Sands, known for roles in the films A Room With a View and Warlock, was reported missing Friday after going hiking in California’s San Gabriel Mountains earlier that day, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Nate Campos told The Hollywood Reporter.
Sands, a 65-year-old resident of North Hollywood, was reported missing around 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Baldy Bowl area of Mount Baldy, according to authorities. A search began, but ground crews were taken off the mountain Saturday evening amid avalanche risks and poor trail conditions due to snow and ice.
Search continued via helicopters and drones as weather permitted, and ground crews will resume their work when it is safe to do so. The sheriff’s department, which is working with Forest Service to find Sands, urges individuals to stay out of the area due to treacherous hiking conditions.

Inside Man is a good pun and a bad story. The four-part black comedy drama is about Jefferson Grieff (Stanley Tucci), a criminologist on death row in Texas who, for reasons unexplained, is allowed to run a rudimentary detective agency while awaiting execution. That makes Grieff an inside man both in the prison sense, and in the criminal-solving-crimes sense. See? Good pun, and a decent premise for say, a CBS procedural in the NCIS/Ghost Whisperer pattern: a case a week to be solved by Tucci’s charismatic lead before his very literal deadline.
Cut-and-shut welded to a different story set in the UK about an Anglican vicar (David Tennant) making decisions so needlessly stupid that you wonder he has the capacity to put his cassock on the right way round, that premise (and pun) unfortunately collapse. Even Inside Man’s strong cast, pacy directing from Sherlock’s Paul McGuigan...

Ghost Whisperer was a television show that ran for five seasons on CBS. The show followed the life of Melinda Gordon, a woman who had the ability to see and communicate with ghosts. While the show was popular with viewers, it did not perform well in terms of ratings. In 2010, it was announced that Ghost Whisperer would be canceled after its fifth season. There are several reasons why the show may have been canceled, including declining viewership and high production costs. Additionally, the show’s creator, John Gray, had left the series before its cancellation. Without Gray’s creative vision, the

Law & Order Season 22 is rounding out its cast following some high-profile departures.
Supergirl veteran, Mehcad Brooks, has landed a role on the Dick Wolf procedural.
Brooks will play a detective, but we don't have any details about the character beyond that, unfortunately.
The star is best known for playing Jimmy Olsen on The CW's Supergirl, a role he left behind during Supergirl Season 5.
Thankfully for fans, he returned one year later for the series finale of the Melissa Benoist-led superhero drama.
Brooks has also appeared on True Blood, The Game, and even an episode of Law & Order: Svu.
Anthony Anderson, who reprised his role as Detective Kevin Bernard on the revival season, has departed after one season back in the role.
Anderson signed a one-year deal when his casting was announced, and recent reports have suggested the star wanted to help get the revival off the ground before moving on to new projects.

We’ve welcomed the undead into our living rooms since the days of “Dark Shadows.” But in the decades since, most of those stories have been about life and death battles between the living and the dead, with a dose of forbidden romance tossed in.
“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “The Walking Dead” focused on averting the apocalypse. Other shows, like “Ghost Whisperer,” zeroed in on the spooky. But in today’s TV landscape, death is something we’re far more comfortable with, and the no longer living aren’t treated as monsters or even as metaphors. Instead, they’re used as tools to investigate a wide array of topics as varied as feminism, political disenfranchisement, and trauma. And in the case of “The Good Place,” all of the above and more.

NBC's Law & Order revival is starting to take shape.
Deadline is reporting that Camryn Manheim has landed the role of Lt. Kate Dixon.
The outlet reports that Manheim will be the successor to S. Epatha Merkerson's Lt. Anita Van Buren.
Unfortunately, Merkerson's series regular role on Chicago Med put a kibosh in a potential comeback.
However, both shows come from Dick Wolf, so it's possible Anita could pop up down the line, depending on availability.
So far, the only confirmed returning star is Anthony Anderson, who will play Detective Bernard on the 21st season of the series.
Burn Notice's Jeffrey Donovan, and Hannibal's Hugh Dancy are both attached to star as a cop and assistant district attorney, respectively.
The original Law & Order was canceled a decade ago, with fans shocked at the time.
The network kept spinoff Svu around, and it continues to be a mainstay on the network's schedule.

Exclusive: Showtime’s forthcoming American Rust has added Mark Pellegrino (Dexter) as a series regular. He joins Jeff Daniels and Maura Tierney in the drama series which is scheduled to begin production in Pittsburgh in late March.
Based on Philipp Meyer’s celebrated debut novel of the same name, the family drama explores the tattered American dream through the eyes of a complicated and compromised chief of police Del Harris (Daniels) in a Rust Belt town in southwest Pennsylvania. When the woman he truly loves sees her son accused of murder, Harris is forced to decide what he’s willing to do to protect him.
Pellegrino will step into the role of Virgil Poe who is described as “wiry” and “hanging onto his good looks” — and he’s also unemployed. He plays the field but remains technically married to Grace Poe (Tierney), to whom he returns when he misses her...

Rob Schneider is taking his comedic wits into the vocal booth.
Schneider, Dolph Lundgren (“Creed II”) and Nicholas Turturro have joined family comedy “Pups Alone.”
The “Saturday Night Live” alum will lend his voice to the live-action feature alongside a cast that includes Jennifer Love Hewitt, Keith David (“The Princess and the Frog) and Eric Roberts (“Runaway Train”). Lundgren and Turturro will be on camera. “Pups Alone” comes from an original concept and screenplay by Brandon Burrows and Jason Gruich.
“Rob is an absolute comedic genius,” Burrows said. “I can’t wait to share Dolph and Nick’s brilliant performances in ‘Pups.’ Dolph gives a powerhouse performance. Couldn’t be prouder to have them in the film.”
Burrows also serves as producer for the Alex Merkin-directed film. Courtney Lauren Penn, Andre Relis and Jack Bowyer are executive producers.
“Pups Alone” is in negotiation for a North American Distribution deal.
