In one particular moment, amidst all the curiosity, when they were gossiping with shifty eyes, one girl called over the woman in question and asked her, “Are you all…female?” With nothing to hide, she answered, “Physically was I born female? No.” This apparently triggered a mix of reactions from the girls. One of them seemed offended and said, “Ain’t this supposed to be a girl competition — how did you get through the door?” Meanwhile, another contestant commended Isis for standing in her truth. Nancy Grace was floored by the 2005 murder of her close friend Pamela Vitale. But as hard as it was to process the loss, what came next was equally challenging: Police initially identified Vitale’s husband, prominent criminal defense attorney Daniel Horowitz, as a suspect.
Grace knew in her gut that Horowitz didn’t murder his wife — and just 5 days after the crime, the real culprit, a 16-year-old neighbor, was arrested and eventually sentenced to life in prison.
All of this unfolds in the first episode of Oxygen’s new series “Injustice With Nancy Grace,” which examines little known cases involving wrongful accusations, botched investigations, suppressed evidence, unclear motives, or unjust sentences. In the premiere, she looks at the Vitale case and gives Horowitz a chance to share what was going through his mind through the tragedy and its aftermath.

Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz are exiting Magical Elves, the production company behind hits such as Top Chef, Project Runway and Nailed It, which they co-founded in 2001. The Emmy-winning producers will remain partners and are expected to launch a new company as as independent producers. Meanwhile, Magical Elves will remain a part of Tinopolis USA, the U.S. subsidiary of UK-based Tinopolis Group, which acquired the company in 2014.
It is a common practice for the founders of a successful production company that sells to leave when the five-year post-acquisition period, during which they are required to stay on, is up, and they go on to launch a new company with the goal of building it and eventually selling it.
Their departure comes as the owners of Tinopolis, which owns a slew of British production companies including Question Time producer Mentorn and Mums Make Porn producer Firecracker Films, are once again keen to sell.

Last month, Color of Change did what might have seemed impossible: The racial justice organization got Disney to change its mind. After images from the upcoming “Wreck-It Ralph” sequel, “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” showed a Princess Tiana starkly different from her appearance in the 2009 “The Princess and the Frog” — slimmer nose, loose curly hair, and a significantly lighter skin tone — the organization and its membership of 1.4 million black people and allies successfully pressured the studio to restore its only black princess to her original “unapologetically black” depiction.
For 13 years, Color of Change has worked to shift perceptions of race on TV and film, including a successful 2013 campaign to kill a Oxygen reality TV series heavily panned for promoting harmful stereotypes of black families, “All My Baby’s Mommas” (Oxygen cancelled the series before an episode aired). And last fall, the organization worked with UCLA to release a damning report, “Race in the Writers’ Room,...

NBC has renewed all four of its Dick Wolf series. That includes Law & Order: Svu, picked up for a 20th season, tying the record for longest-running drama series, held jointly by Law & Order and Gunsmoke. The network also has renweed all three Windy City-set drama series for next season: Chicago Fire will return for Season 7, Chicago P.D. for Season 6 and Chicago Med for Season 4.
