- There's a long bar-fight scene with one of the men being strangled and thrown through a window into a car.
- There's an armored truck heist with a blown up van and multiple men shooting fully automatic weapons at each other. Similar scenes in an airplane graveyard and on top of a skyscraper.
- Several men are gunned down in a bar.
- Two men are seen holding up a liquor store with a gun and a knife. Another man walks in and beats them both, taking their weapons.

- There are two bar scenes with heavy drinking and a drunken bar fight.
- A fictitious drug called Crystal Dream is a main plot point throughout the movie but no one is seen actually using it. It's implied the drug is similar to the real world PCP or LSD.
- Aside from the iconic tobacco character in the title and used throughout the movie, there is also a character named Virginia Slim.
