Local Natives will part ways with founding vocalist, keyboardist, and songwriter Kelcey Ayer following their upcoming tour.
The announcement arrives shortly after Local Natives released their sixth album, But I’ll Wait For You, which served as a companion piece to their 2023 album Time Will Wait For No One. “A big theme of Time Will Wait For No One, But I’ll Wait For You is being there for one another, and part of that is accepting change. With that, we wanted to share that our latest album and its upcoming tours will be the last with Kelcey as a member of Local Natives,” the band wrote on Instagram.

Thank the gods! There’s a new teaser for Disney’s upcoming “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” television series, which stars Walker Scobell.
Based on the best-selling book series by author Rick Riordan, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” follows a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who learns that he has godly powers because his father is Poseidon, Greek god of the sea. The first two episodes of the eight-episode first season premieres Dec. 20 on Disney+.
“My name is Percy Jackson,” Scobell’s voiceover introduces his character at the beginning of the clip. “Am I a troubled kid? Yeah, you could say that.”
As a cover of Vance Joy’s “Riptide” sets the scene (iconic because Riptide is the name of Percy’s sword), Scobell goes on to describe what troubles his character. For Percy, letters swim around on the page, but he later learns that he has dyslexia because the...

Noah Cyrus sorted through the lowest lows on her latest album, The Hardest Part, and continued exploring the same notions of love and self-understanding on its deluxe edition not long after. Now, coming out on the other side, the singer has recruited Vance Joy for “Everybody Needs Someone.”
The record, written by Cyrus and her close collaborator Thief, asks for grace and understanding amidst complex emotions. “Take my hand if you can take me as I am/And take my love, if you can love me, that’s enough,” Cyrus proposes.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is out with his 2021 Spotify playlist, in the spirit of other political figures who’ve taken to releasing their end-of-year favorites.
Blinken’s choices actually are two lists — one an “at home” compilation of American artists, the other an “on the road” selection inspired by places he’s visited over the past year.
The “at home” list — which you can see here — includes 17 choices, including Olivia Rodrigo’s “Traitor,” Taylor Swift’s “State of Grace,” Jon Batiste’s “Freedom,” Chris Stapleton’s “You Should Probably Leave” and “Leave the Door Open” from Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak and Silk Sonic, as well as “Holy” from Justin Bieber, featuring Chance the Rapper.

Vance Joy’s first solo single in over three years, “Missing Piece,” is setting the tone for Dr. Jackson Avery’s farewell to “Grey’s Anatomy” during tonight’s episode.
As was revealed on May 6, the third-to-last episode of the hit ABC show’s 17th season will see the exit of Dr. Avery, played by Jesse Williams, who has been a mainstay on “Grey’s Anatomy” since Season 7. “Missing Piece” is featured at the end of the episode, as Dr. Avery reflects on his memories at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital and bids his colleagues goodbye.
“Missing Piece” is a tried-and-true love song, centered on the feeling of finally finding — as the title suggests — your missing puzzle piece. Over uplifting guitar riffs, Joy sings in the chorus: “Because when I’m in a room with you, that missing piece is found / You know when you’re by my side, darling, nothing can break us down.

The Bachelor's new spinoff Listen to Your Heart combines the format of the dating show with that of a music competition, and at least one of the show's young hopefuls has been on reality TV before. Trevor Holmes, a 29-year-old singer, actually competed on American Idol two years ago. Although he didn't make it to the final rounds, he certainly left a major impression.
Trevor made headlines when he auditioned for Idol in 2018, during the first season of the "revived" show and its first season on ABC. The Monday April 23 episode of the ABC revival of “American Idol” saw the Top 14 reduced to the Top 10. Six of the singers continuing on in the show — Gabby Barrett, Cade Foehner, Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Maddie Poppe, Catie Turner and Michael J. Woodard — learnt that they numbered among America’s favorites and earned places in the Top 10 based on their performances on Sunday’s show.
The other eight contestants were told by host Ryan Seacrest that the three judges — Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie — would choose just four of them to move forward in the competition based on the songs that they sung on Monday’s show. The four artists that the panel put through to the Top 10 were: Dennis Lorenzo, Jurnee Siani, Michelle Sussett and Ada Vox.

It took five weeks of episodes on the “American Idol” revival on ABC but we finally have the top 14 who will sing for your votes beginning on April 22. We asked you which of these are the early favorites to win season 16, which is hosted by Ryan Seacrest. Four of the finalists – Gabby Barrett, Cade Foehner, Jurnee and Ada Vox — are the only ones to register double digits in our poll. Each was a clear favorite for at least one of the three judges: Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie.
None of the other 10 other artists in the Top 14 — Jonny Brenns, Marcio Donaldson, Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Garrett Jacobs, Mara Justine, Dennis Lorenzo, Maddie Poppe, Michelle Sussett, Catie Turner and Michael J. Woodard — merited more than nine percent of the vote. Are we underestimating one of these talents?

For the eighth year, YouTube will exclusively stream the festival for free, with three different channels showing acts from Coachella’s various stages. The stream times will not directly correspond with when the artists take the stage this weekend so that overlapping artists can be broadcast.

26 years ago today, the Griswold family cemented their place in the pantheon Christmas movies. The third installment of National Lampoon’s “Vacation” comedy series features plenty of holiday hijinks ensuing — including a squirrel in the Christmas tree, a sled ride made dangerous by an experimental substance, and a bit of kidnapping — as Chevy Chase’s Clark Griswold tries to keep it all together in front of his siblings. Fun fact: “Christmas Vacation” was one of two Christmas movies released in 1989, the other being John Hancock’s “Prancer.” Johnny Galecki, a.k.a. Rusty Griswold (now better known as Leonard from “The Big Bang Theory”) appeared in both of these holiday movies. Other notable December 1 happenings in pop culture history: • 1887: The first Sherlock Holmes story, “A Study in Scarlet,” was published in “Beeton’s Christmas Annual” • 1903: “The Great Train Robbery,” notable for many firsts in filmmaking, had its...
