Shawn Ryan ("The Shield" creator, FX's "Terriers") will adapt Tom Clancy's 1993 best-seller "Without Remorse" for Paramount Pictures. According to Vulture, insiders familiar with the situation said that the project will be produced by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci ("Star Trek," "Fringe") as well as David Ellison's Skydance Productions. The book follows one of Clancy's John Kelly, a recurring hero who later assumes the alias of John Clark, appearing in the Jack Ryan novels "Patriot Games" and "Rainbow Six." In the book's story which is set in the 70s during the Vietman War, he seeks revenge against the Baltimore drug ring who is responsible for his girlfriend's death. the death of his girlfriend.
