- Abby Elliott is the first second-generation cast member on Saturday Night Live (1975). Her father is Chris Elliott, who was featured on the show during the 1994-1995 season. She is also the granddaughter of veteran comic Bob Elliott, from the "Bob and Ray Show".
Before coming to "Saturday Night Live", Elliot worked with current SNL cast member Michaela Watkins at LA's Groundling's Theater.

- She was the youngest woman to become a cast member on SNL.
- Besides Saturday Night Live (1975), both Abby and her father, Chris Elliott, have had recurring roles on How I Met Your Mother (2005) - Chris as Lily's father and Abby as Ted's girlfriend, Jeanette.
- She was offered the role of Alexis Rose on Schitt's Creek (2015) before she had to turn the offer down due to her prior commitments to season 38 of Saturday Night Live (1975). The role of Alexis Rose eventually went to Annie Murphy for which she won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
