Exclusive: Skye P. Marshall has been tapped as a lead opposite Kathy Bates in CBS’ drama pilot Matlock, a new take on the classic legal TV drama starring Andy Griffith, which comes from Jane the Virgin creator Jennie Snyder Urman and NCIS: Los Angeles star Eric Christian Olsen.
In Matlock, written by Urman and to be directed by Kat Coiro, after achieving success in her younger years, the brilliant septuagenarian Madeline Matlock (Bates) rejoins the work force at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases and expose corruption from within.
Marshall will play Olympia. A formidable attorney with a thirst for justice, Olympia is a key rainmaker at New York’s most prestigious law firm. Juggling work and life, she remains laser-focused and not the easiest to impress, which is apparent when she is tasked to oversee a third junior associate.

Katie Cassidy (Arrow), Devon Sawa (Idle Hands), Kate Bosworth (Blue Crush), Tyrese Gibson (Morbius), and Chris Backus (Mindhunter) lead the cast of the survival thriller Fallout, which recently wrapped production in New Jersey. The movie was directed by Cecil Chambers (Due Season), who also crafted the screenplay with Michael Miceli (The Bounty Hunter).
Fallout tells the story of, yes, “the fallout” when a nuclear threat forces six people into a malfunctioning underground bunker. Tensions soon rise as they fight to stay alive. With oxygen and the trust in each other quickly running out, they learn that a more sinister plan is afoot. It’s interesting to see that the story involves six people being trapped in one location, but only the names of five actors have been announced. Who is the sixth person in that bunker?

Exclusive: Briarcliff Entertainment has acquired North American distribution rights to the gripping historical drama Kent State from writer, director Karen Slade. The film will star Dermot Mulroney, Clancy Brown, Aksel Hennie, Christopher Backus, Christopher Ammanuel, Andrew Ortenberg and Jacqueline Emerson.
Grandave International is handling foreign sales on the film. The pic will begin filming this November in Columbus, Ga with a US theatrical release anticipated for 2023.
Inspired by true events, the movie tells the story of how a family’s buried past coincides with the brutal truth of one of the most significant events in American history, when the Ohio National Guard fired into a crowd of student protestors, killing four, and injuring 7 on May 4th, 1970, at Kent State University. Told through the perspective of Will McCormack in two time periods in his life, the film asks the question of not just what happened then, but why these kinds of events continue to happen.

Does unveiling the worst side of humanity have a higher purpose beyond ratings? That’s the question begged after two seasons of Apple TV+’s “Truth Be Told,” which just premiered on the streaming platform.
Long before the 10-episode season ends, you’ll wish it was over. It’s a whodunit, but a tedious one. By the time the “truth” in the title is revealed, it won’t matter. It’s rather anticlimactic.
From writer, showrunner, and executive producer Nichelle Tramble Spellman, starring and executive-produced by Octavia Spencer, the new season also features Kate Hudson in her first lead role in a television series. The second season, which prides itself as a glimpse into America’s obsession with true crime podcasts, is ultimately a dud.

Tyrese Gibson stars as the ex-Marine hero of this fun, dumb and violent thriller, set in a large, well-stocked retail outlet
When you think about, it’s obvious why there are so many enclosed-space hostage thrillers: they’re pretty cheap to make. Location shooting is expensive, but all you need here is your he-man, an assortment of hostages – preferably including one or two who are dear to the hero, like a wife or child – and that enclosed space. An airplane or speeding bus are great if you have a bit more cash to burn, but in this more economically budgeted directed film by Jon Keeyes, we have a humble supermarket. It’s one of those really big US supermarkets, like a Wal-Mart, but it’s called Nelson’s, after its owner in the story, who is played by John Malkovich, seriously slumming it. Fortunately, it’s a supermarket with camping,...

Kyle Snowden (Tyrese Gibson) is a single father taking care of his young daughter while struggling to cope with Ptsd following his harrowing service in the marines. When a gun-toting gang take over one of his stepfather Sam Nelson’s (John Malkovich) grocery stores, he’s forced to take matters into his own hands, using his well-honed skills to save innocent hostages and topple the militia leader Egan.
How best to describe Rogue Hostage? Well; the title gives a lot away already but how about “a former soldier turned social worker suffering from Ptsd gets tangled up in Die Hard in a supermarket…” Yeah that’s a succinct as you can get. If I’m honest there’s not much more to say about the film.

Netflix’s “Mindhunter” is a fictionalized exploration of the FBI’s study of violent criminals during the 1970s and 1980s. It earned its sole Emmy nomination in 2018 for Cameron Britton‘s guest performance as Edmund Kemper, the real life murderer dubbed the Co-Ed Killer. One of them is Damon Herriman, who has the benefit of having played the same killer twice last year.
Herriman shows up in episode five of “Mindhunter” as Charles Manson, whose cult was responsible for the horrific murder of actress Sharon Tate and four others in Tate’s Los Angeles home. Not every child of a Hollywood star cites their parent for their success, but Oscar winner Mira Sorvino gives credit where it's due. "Doing school plays when I was a little kid, my dad [Paul Sorvino, 79] would say, 'That was terrific! "I learned things that are crucial to this day." Now she passes along wisdom to her own kids about overcoming rejection, something she faced when studio head Harvey Weinstein allegedly blacklisted her after she rejected his advances in the 90s. "If I would give up and not pursue [acting] anymore, what kind of lesson would that be for them?" she has asked. As Mira celebrates her acclaimed new series, Condor, and her 14th anniversary with actor-husband Christopher Backus,...

Leonardo DiCaprio and his girlfriend, Nina Agdal, enjoyed a quiet dinner at Zuma in New York City on Wednesday. The cute couple dined alongside Sean Penn and rapper Q-Tip, sharing sushi plates of Zuma’s Robata grilled fare and rounds of cocktails.
While DiCaprio and crew grabbed a bite in the Big Apple, the happily uncoupled Jennie Garth and her ex-husband, Peter Facinelli, brought their significant others along for a family vacation at the recently opened Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort in Cancun, Mexico. The tropical getaway was Garth and Facinelli’s first vacay together since their 2013 divorce, alongside their daughters, Lola, 14, and Fiona, 10.
They all enjoyed the resort's Unlimited Luxury amenities, including pampering at the Dreams Spa by Pevonia, riding down the resor's awesome water slides ,parasailing, gourmet dining at on-site restaurant Gaucho and plenty of ice cream. The group had a great time lounging poolside and fitting in some long overdue quality...
