Maxine F*cking Minx has come to Hollywood, and she's determined to become the biggest star in Tinsel Town... by any means necessary.
The final film in Ti West's X trilogy, MaXXXine, is set to hit theaters exactly one month from today, and A24 has released a second full trailer spotlighting plenty of blood-soaked new footage.
In the first movie, X, Mia Goth's Maxine turned out to be the sole survivor of a crazed old woman's (also played by Goth) murderous rampage, and played a younger version of that character in recent prequel film, Pearl. In MaXXXine, the more determined-than-ever Miss Minx travels to LA with dreams of stardom, while a vicious serial killer known as the Night Stalker haunts the streets.
Here, we see more from supporting characters played by Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, and Kevin Bacon, along with some flashes of the murderer's brutal rampage.

Ti West's wildly enjoyable horror trilogy that began with "X" and continued with "Pearl" comes to a close with "MaXXXine," a bloody story set in 1980s Hollywood. When we last saw porn star Maxine Minx in "X," she had just survived a massacre that killed off the entire crew of the adult film she was starring in in 1979. Now it's the '80s, and Maxine hasn't given up her dreams of becoming a genuine movie star. But can she escape her dark past and deal with new malevolent forces, including a serial killer? We'll find out when "MaXXXine" arrives this July. For now, though, we have a stylish new trailer for the horror sequel. Watch it above.

The third and final installment in Ti West’s trilogy, A24 will be releasing X and Pearl follow-up MaXXXine in theaters July 5, and a brand new official trailer has arrived today.
Watch the new trailer for MaXXXine below, which cleverly begins with a faux trailer for the movie-within-a-movie, The Puritan II. From there it’s a lot of the same footage we’ve already seen, with Goth’s character being pursued in 1980s Hollywood by the Night Stalker. There’s a Giallo vibe throughout the trailer, with West slicing his knife into Hollywood this time around.
As Ti West explained a while back, “The way that X is a movie that is informed by and affected by independent exploitation auteur Americana and 1970s cinema, and Pearl is perhaps affected by the Golden Age of Hollywood and the glitz and glamor of cinema, MaXXXine will be more about within the industry...

“MaXXXine” is entering the spotlight a little earlier than expected, thanks to a fluffer of a film sneak peek.

Walton Goggins, who’s among the major cast additions to the upcoming third season of HBO’s The White Lotus, is staying mum about the details of his character or storyline, but he is sharing his thoughts on the experience.
“It’s all very meta on every level,” Goggins told the Los Angeles Times in a recent interview. “We’re guests checking into a hotel playing guests checking into a hotel. We spend all this time together, whether we like it or not, eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. We work where we stay. I went to a lot of the places where we’re filming now, the same streets and sandy beaches,” he said. “I have come so far in my life and been healed on a number of levels. When Marvel launched its universe with Iron Man, the industry was divided into two eras defined as pre-mcu and post-mcu. Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau changed Hollywood for good and never batted an eye while doing so. It was only fair that the audience got on board with the program and rode the Marvel wave until it crashed into a storm of its own making, drowning everyone and everything in its path.

Landing a role in season three of The White Lotus still feels surreal for Walton Goggins.
The actor recently opened up to the Los Angeles Times about the ups and downs throughout his acting career, as well as the moment he learned he got the role in Mike White’s Emmy-winning HBO series.
“They said, ‘Before we do anything, we have to tell you something,” Goggins recalled of a conversation with his agents. “You just got an offer for The White Lotus, and it’s a very good role.’ I said, ‘Could you say that again?’ They said, ‘Mike wants you.’”
He continued, “I said, ‘Could you excuse me a minute?’ I walked outside and I start bawling. Crying uncontrollably. I called my wife (Nadia Conners), shaking, and she said, ‘I fucking knew it!’ When we were watching it one time, she had said, ‘Why don’t you do The White Lotus?...

Ti West is channeling Paul Schrader for his trilogy ender “MaXXXine.” Oh, and “The Terminator.”
Writer/director West told Total Film that the 1985 Hollywood-set horror film is just as “hardcore” as Schrader’s filmography, with high concept tie-ins of “The Terminator” and “Vice Squad.” Plus, of course, what “X” film is complete without a hint of giallo?
“It’s poppy, but still grounded in more of a grittier ’80s than a shopping-mall ’80s,” West described his film. “You’re seeing the glamorous side of the movie business and the seedy side of Hollywood.”
West said “MaXXXine” has “a ‘Terminator’-like aesthetic to a Paul Schrader hardcore thing to ‘Vice Squad’ to giallo,” all mixed together.

Exclusive: After successfully launching the Extraction film franchise at Netflix, director Sam Hargrave has his eyes set on another potential franchise with a piece of IP that is revving its engines to get out the gate. Sources tell Deadline that Skydance and Mattel Films have closed a deal with Hargrave to direct a live-action movie based on Matchbox, Mattel’s iconic real-world die-cast toy vehicle line. David Coggeshall and Jonathan Tropper are penning the script.
Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger will produce alongside Robbie Brenner for Mattel Films. The project will be shepherded by Aimee Rivera for Skydance and Elizabeth Bassin and Andrew Scannell for Mattel Films.
The iconic Matchbox brand was invented in 1953 by automotive enthusiast Jack Odell to solve a challenge for his daughter, who was allowed to take a toy to school only if it was small enough to fit in a matchbox.

MaXXXine has earned an R for strong violence, gore, sexual content, graphic nudity, language and drug use. Sounds like a good time at the movies to me!
MaXXXine is written and directed by West. Mia Goth reprises the role of X survivor Maxine Minx, a burlesque performer and adult film actress with the goal of being a star. And, action. A few years back, Ti West and Mia Goth took the horror world by surprise – not with the fact that their slasher team-up X was excellent (West’s work has long been acclaimed), but with the news that, during its production, the pair had devised and shot an imminent prequel, the 1920s-set Pearl. Together, the two films made fascinating companion-pieces – each evoking different eras of filmmaking without holding back on the gore, the scares, and some surprising melancholy undertones. Add in astonishing performances from Goth as both rising porn star Maxine Minx and psycho killer Pearl, and you had an instant double-whammy hit. Now, they’re about to cap it off with X sequel MaXXXine – taking Ms. Minx into 1980s Hollywood. Watch the trailer:
If you’ve caught up on X and Pearl already, this looks like a hugely exciting closing chapter – one firmly leaning into its 1985 setting,...

A24 released the trailer for “Maxxxine” early Monday, the third part of a genre trilogy from Mia Goth and director Ti West. Whereas “X” focused on a porno shoot in 1979 and “Pearl” took the action way back to 1918 (with Goth mugging with a frozen smile for insane lengths of time), “Maxxxine” is set in Los Angeles during its sleaze nadir of 1985, with Goth’s Maxine Minx ready to make the transition from adult entertainer to horror movie star. Alas, a serial killer (“The Night Stalker”) is on the loose, causing trouble.
Set to “My Obsession” by Animotion and “Self Control” by Laura Branigan, Maxxine and hear blown-out hairstyle zoom around L.A., meeting Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, Halsey, Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon along the way.

Like any summer movie slate, the lineup is chock full of sequels and franchise additions, but one of the few that may bring something a bit fresh is the final entry into Ti West’s X slasher trilogy. All starring Mia Goth as Maxine / Pearl, the first film X dropped in early 2022, while its prequel Pearl arrived in September of the same year. While the wait for the sequel, MaXXXine, has been a bit longer, it’ll now finally debut this July. Ahead of the release, A24 has now dropped the first trailer.
Also starring Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lily Collins, with Giancarlo Esposito and Kevin Bacon, the 1980s-set feature follows the adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx as she finally gets her big break. But as a mysterious killer stalks the starlets of Hollywood, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past.
